1 Introduccin
El objetivo de este manual de funcionamiento esfamiliarizarle como usuario/operador con la seguri-dad, la construccin, el funcionamiento as como elmantenimiento y la conservacin de la secadora poradsorcin con regeneracin en fro Ultrapac 2000mini.
Una condicin bsica para la manipulacin segura yel funcionamiento sin averas de este equipo es elconocimiento de las instrucciones de seguridad tantobsicas como especficas.Este manual de funcionamiento incluye dichasinstrucciones de seguridad para una manipulacinsegura.Toda persona que trabaje en este equipo tiene queobservar las instrucciones de este manual de funcion-amiento y en especial las instrucciones de seguridad.Es imprescindible que el personal que manipule esteequipo, tenga acceso a este manual de funciona-miento en cualquier momento y que ste se guarde enel lugar de instalacin del equipo.

1 Introduction
As the user / operator, you should make yourselffamiliar with this Operation Manual in terms of thesafety, construction, function, maintenance andservicing of the Heatless-Regenerating AdsorptionDryer Ultrapac 2000 mini.
A basic prerequisite for safe working with and error-free operation of the unit is a knowledge of the basicand special safety features.
This Operation Manual includes the required safetyinformation in order to operate this unit safely.
This Operation Manual, and especially the safetyinformation, are to be followed by all personsworking with the unit. It is imperative that this Operation Manual is madefreely available at all times to machine operators andare to be kept at the place where the unit is installed.

4.1 Disposiciones de seguridad
Donaldson excluye expresamente cualquierresponsabilidad u obligacin por daos y/o lesionesdebidos a la no observacin de estas medidasespecficas u otras medidas preventivas conocidas ocausadas por la no observacin de la diligencianecesaria en el funcionamiento y la manipulacin desecadoras, aunque stas no estn indicadas de formaexplcita.
4.1.1 Lo que tiene que hacer siempre
Hacer un uso debido del equipo, de acuerdo consu destino!Este equipo solamente se puede emplear de acuerdo consu destino. El equipo secadora por adsorcin conregeneracin en fro Ultrapac 2000 mini estconstruido con el exclusivo destino de:
secado de aire comprimido o nitrgeno.Otro uso diferente o que sobrepase los lmites de estedestino se considerar un uso indebido. Dentro de los lmites legalmente establecidos,Donaldson no se har responsable de daos causadospor el uso indebido.
Guardar el manual de funcionamiento en ellugar de instalacin del equipo!Asegrese de que el manual de funcionamiento seencuentre siempre en el lugar de instalacin delequipo.
Emplear las herramientas apropiadas!Tanto en el mantenimiento como en la reparacin delequipo se deben emplear solamente herramientas enperfectas condiciones.El posible uso de herramientas especiales para larealizacin de algunos trabajos se tiene que acordarpreviamente con el fabricante.
Seguir las instrucciones de seguridad al realizartrabajos de mantenimiento y conservacin!Para la realizacin de algunos trabajos demantenimiento y conservacin, el equipo tiene que estarfuera de servicio y libre de tensin y presin. Si realizaestos trabajos con el equipo en funcionamiento, se poneen peligro a s mismo y a terceros.
4 Your Safety
4.1 Safety regulations
Donaldson explicitly excludes all responsibility orliability for damage and / or injury caused by failureto follow these special points requiring attention, orothers, or by failing to pay the necessary attentionwhen operating and handling these dryers, even ifthis is not explicitly stated in individual cases.
4.1.1 What you must always do
Operate the unit properly and appropriately!The unit may only be used for its intended purpose.The Heatless-Regenerating Adsorption Dryer Ultra-pac 2000 mini is built exclusively for the following purpose:
drying compressed air or nitrogen.Any other use of the unit, or one deviating from thisone stated, shall be considered inappropriate.Donaldson shall not be liable, where this is permittedunder law, for any damage incurred as a result ofmisuse.
Leave the Operation Manual at the place of installation!Ensure that the Operation Manual are always to handat the unit.
Use the appropriate tools!When carrying out maintenance or servicing work onthe unit, only use the appropriate tools in perfect con-dition.If special tools are required for particular jobs, thesemust be clarified beforehand with the manufacturer.
Follow the safety information when carrying outmaintenance or servicing work!The unit must be taken out of operation and madecurrent- and pressureless for certain maintenance orservicing work. You will expose yourself and othersto risk if you carry such work while the unit is running.

4.1.2 Lo que no debe hacer nunca
No realizar modificaciones constructivas en elequipo!Solamente el fabricante puede realizarmodificaciones constructivas en el equipo. Cualquiermodificacin constructiva que Ud. pretenda realizaren el equipo requiere la previa autorizacin escritadel fabricante.
No emplear piezas que no sean originales!Emplear solamente los repuestos y accesorios originalesdel fabricante.En las piezas no originales no est garantizado que eldiseo y la fabricacin se correspondan con el destino yque cumplan las exigencias en cuanto a seguridad.
4.1.3 Peligros durante el funcionamiento del equipo
El equipo secadora por adsorcin con regeneracinen fro Ultrapac 2000 mini est diseado yfabricado segn las reglas generalmente aceptadas dela tcnica y de la seguridad en el trabajo. Noobstante, en el funcionamiento pueden originarsesituaciones que supongan un peligro para laintegridad y la vida del operador o de terceros o quecausen daos al equipo u otros objetos.
El equipo solamente se debe emplear:
para su uso de acuerdo con su destino. cuando se encuentra en un estado perfecto en
cuanto a seguridad,
cuando se cumplen todas las medidas demantenimiento y conservacin (vase captulo 9Mantenimiento y entretenimiento en la pgina 25).
Cualquier avera o defecto que pueda afectar a laseguridad se tiene que eliminar inmediatamente.El diseo/desarrollo, la fabricacin, el montaje y elservicio posventa estn sujetos a un sistema deaseguramiento de la calidad certificado segn DINEN ISO 9001.

4.1.2 What you must not do
Do not make any constructional changes to theunit!Constructional changes on the unit may only becarried out by the manufacturer. Any changes thatyou wish to make to the unit on site must be approvedbeforehand in writing by the manufacturer.
Never use non original parts!Only use original spare parts and accessory parts fromthe manufacturer.There is no guarantee that non-original parts havebeen designed and manufactured to meeting thesafety and operational requirements of the unit.
4.1.3 Dangers when operating the unit
The Heatless-Regenerating Adsorption DryerUltrapac 2000 mini was designed and constructedaccording to the generally recognised regulationsconcerning technical matters and safety at work.Nonetheless, operation entails dangers to life andlimb for the operator or third parties, and can causedamage to the unit or material damage.
The unit is only to be used:
for the stipulated purpose, if it is in perfect condition in terms of safety, when adhering to all the prescribed maintenance
and servicing measures, see section 9 Mainte-nance and Servicing on page 25.
Faults or defects that could affect safety must be putright fully.Design / Development, production, installation andafter-sales service for the unit are subject to a certifiedquality assurance system as per DIN EN ISO 9001.

4.1.4 Peligros por energa elctrica
Los trabajos en la alimentacin elctrica se tienenque realizar por un tcnico adecuadamenteformado segn las disposiciones DIN VDE y lasdisposiciones de la correspondiente centralelctrica.
El equipamiento elctrico del equipo se tiene quecomprobar peridicamente (vase captulo 9 Man-tenimiento y entretenimiento en la pgina 25).
Emplear solamente fusibles originales para latensin y potencia exigidas!
4.1.5 Peligros durante trabajos de man-tenimiento, conservacin y
eliminacin de averas
Toda persona que en fbrica del usuario realicetrabajos de montaje, puesta en servicio,manipulacin, conservacin, reparacin osimilares, tiene que haber ledo y comprendido elmanual de funcionamiento y, en especial, lasinstrucciones de seguridad. Para aclarar cualquierduda, rogamos se dirijan a Donaldson.
El fabricante no es responsable de daoscausados por el montaje o la puesta en servicioinadecuados. En este caso, el usuario asume todoel riesgo.
Las competencias para los trabajos demantenimiento y conservacin se tienen que fijarclaramente. Informar al personal que opera elequipo antes de iniciar los trabajos demantenimiento y conservacin.
Encargar los trabajos obligatorios de ajuste,mantenimiento e inspeccin dentro de los plazosestablecidos al servicio posventa de Donaldson.
Todos los trabajos de mantenimiento y conservacinen el equipo se tienen que realizar de acuerdo conlas instrucciones (vase captulo 9 Mantenimientoy entretenimiento en la pgina 25).
Poner el equipo correctamente fuera de servicio(vase tambin el captulo 7.3 Puesta fuera deservicio en la pgina 21).Descargar el equipo de presin y tensin.

4.1.4 Dangers from electrical energy
Work on the electrical power supply must be carried by a trained electrician according to theDIN VDE stipulations and the regulations of therelevant power supply company.
The electrical parts of the equipment must bechecked regularly (see section 9 Maintenanceand Servicing on page 25).
Only use original fuses for the rated voltage andcurrent!
4.1.5 Dangers during maintenance, ser-vicing and repair work
All persons involved within the users companywith installation, startup, operation, servicing,repair work, etc., must have read and understoodthe Operation Manual beforehand, with specialreference to the safety information. Please con-tact Donaldson if there are any questions.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage causedby inappropriate installation and startup of theunit. The user bears all the risk in such a case.
The responsibility for maintenance and servicingwork must be clearly established. Operating personnel must be informed before thestart of maintenance and servicing work.
Have the prescribed setting up, maintenance andinspection work carried out by Donaldson after-sales service at the correct intervals.
All the maintenance and servicing work must becarried out on the unit as per the instructions insection 9 Maintenance and Servicing onpage 25.
Shut down the unit in the correct manner (seesection 7.3 Shutdown on page 21).Depressurise the unit and make it currentless.
Put up a warning notice to prevent the unit frombeing switched on again!

Al cambiar componentes ms grandes, sujetarstos bien en aparatos elevadores y asegurarlos.Emplear solamente aparatos elevadores ydispositivos de sujecin de la carga en perfectascondiciones tcnicas y con la suficientecapacidad de carga.
Al realizar trabajos de instalacin por encima dela altura de la cabeza, emplear escaleras yplataformas seguras. Nunca usar partes de lamquina como ayuda para subir; peligro decada! Si se realizan trabajos de mantenimiento aalturas superiores a 5.9 ft, usar cinturones queeviten la cada.
4.1.6 Medidas de seguridad en el funcio-namiento permanente
Una condicin bsica para la manipulacin segura yel funcionamiento sin averas del equipo es elconocimiento y cumplimiento de las disposicionesnacionales de trabajo, funcionamiento y seguridad.Adems, se tienen que cumplir las disposicionesinternas de fbrica.
Comprobar peridicamente si el equipo presentadaos visibles.
Solamente personal adecuadamente formadopuede accionar el mando o el equipo.
Los parmetros prefijados por el fabricante sonvalores estndar.
En caso de averas en el funcionamiento, se tie-nen que observar todas las instrucciones dadas(vase captulo 8 Mensajes y eliminacin defallos en la pgina 22).
Si las medidas all especificadas no eliminaran laavera, rogamos se pongan en contacto conDonaldson.
When replacing larger modules, carefully fastenthem to lifting gar and make sure they are secure!Only use suitable lifting gear and load-bearingmembers that are in perfect condition and haveadequate load-bearing capacity!
If carrying out installation work above headheight, use suitable and safe working platforms orother means to stand higher. Use safety lines toprotect against falling when carrying out main-tenance work at heights above 5.9 ft!
4.1.6 Safety measures in sustained opera-tion
A basic prerequisite for safe working with and error-free operation of the unit is a knowledge of and adherence to the national working, operating andsafety regulations. Furthermore, all internal plantregulations must be followed.
Check the unit for externally-visible damage atregular intervals.
Only allow suitably trained persons to operate thecontroller or the unit.
The parameters preset by the manufacturer arethe default parameters.
Follow all the information given here in the eventof malfunctions or problems (see section 8 FaultMessages and Troubleshooting on page 22).
If the measures listed there do not help to correct theproblem, please contact Donaldson.

4.2 Obligaciones del operador
El operador se obliga a encargar la puesta en serviciodel equipo solamente a personas familiarizadas conlas disposiciones de seguridad y con la manipulacindel equipo.
Estas son en concreto:

4.2.1 Obligaciones del personal
Toda persona encargada de la manipulacin delequipo se obliga a
cumplir las disposiciones bsicas sobre seguridaden el trabajo y prevencin de accidentes,
haber ledo y comprendido el manual defuncionamiento,
seguir las medidas indicadas en el manual defuncionamiento.
4.2.2 Proteccin medioambiental
Eliminar los productos y materiales empleados deforma adecuada.
La eliminacin selectiva de materiales fomenta elreciclaje de material reutilizable.
Es imprescindible que el secante se elimine cor-rectamente. Su eliminacin se realiza por el ser-vicio posventa de Donaldson.
4.2 Requirements for the operator
The operator is required to make sure that the unit isonly operated by persons who are familiar with thesafety stipulations and with the handling of the unit.
In detail, these are as follows:

4.2.1 Requirements for operating staff
All persons who are entrusted with the operation ofthe unit are required to,
follow the basic regulations for safety at workand accident prevention,
have read and understood the Operation Manual, follow the instructions given in this manual.
4.2.2 Environmental protection
Dispose of used items and materials and in the correct manner.
Sorting materials for disposal into suitable cate-gories makes it easier to recycle them.
It is absolutely essential that the desiccant cartrid-ges and the filter elements are disposed of in thecorrect manner. Disposal will be arranged by Donaldson after-sales service.

4.2.3 Garanta y responsabilidad
Queda excluida cualquier reclamacin de garanta oresponsabilidad cuando se debe a una o varias de lassiguientes causas:
el uso indebido del equipo montaje, puesta en servicio, manipulacin o man-
tenimiento incorrectos del equipo
funcionamiento del equipo cuando exista undefecto demostrable
no observacin de las indicaciones del manual defuncionamiento sobre transporte, almacena-miento, montaje, puesta en servicio y manteni-miento
modificaciones constructivas no autorizadas delequipo
control deficiente de componentes del equiposometidos a un desgaste
eparaciones realizadas de forma inadecuada empleo de piezas no originales.
4.2.3 Warranty and liability
Claims for warranty and liability concerning personalinjury or material damage are excluded if they werecaused by one or more of the following factors:
Inappropriate use or application of the unit.
Technically incorrect installation, startup, opera-tion and maintenance of the unit.
Operation of the unit when a defect demonstrablyexisted.
Failure to observe the information given in theOperation Manual concerning transport, storage,installation, startup and maintenance.
Undertaking constructional modifications on theunit on ones own initiative.
Inadequate monitoring of parts of the unit that aresubject to wear.
Repairs not being carried out properly.
Using non-original parts.

La secadora por adsorcin con regeneracin en froUltrapac 2000 mini consta de los siguientescomponentes:

Unidad de adsorbedorLa unidad de adsorbedor contiene los recipientes deadsorbedor compuestos por perfil extruido dealuminio resistente a la presin, con la cantidadcorrespondiente de cartuchos de desecante. Adsorber unitThe adsorber unit contains the pressure resistantadsorption vessel made of extrudet aluminiumprofiles as well as the desiccant cartridges. The upperand lower enclosure is done by covers made ofpolyamid-glass fibre compound. The connectionbetween adsorption vessels and and covers is done bystainless steel screws, a profile gasket is tighteningthe components.
Desiccant cartridgeThe desiccant catridges contain the drying agent,which has been developped for the drying of com-pressed air and nitrogen. It is located in an alumi-nium tube that has a holder permeable to air at bothends. The amount of cartridges varies with the dryersize. The individual catridges for each tank are fixedone below the other by tie rods in the upper adsorbercover.
Pre- and AfterfilterThe filters consist of filter element, filter tube, filterflange and filter lid.The filter elements are screwconnected to the filterflanges.
PrefilterPrefiltration of the medium to be dried is done by thehigh-performance MF micro-filter.
Oil, water and dirt particles are trapped in the micro-fibre mat which retains up to 99.99998% of dirtparticles larger than 0.01 m.

The micro-fibre mat is surrounded by a coalescencefilter sheath and the flow is from the inside to theoutside. Liquid aerosols and mists are aggregated intobigger droplets in this coalescence filter, fall to thelower part of the filter casing by gravity, and are thenremoved from the system via a condensate dischargeline.
The residual oil content after this filter stage is lessthan 0.03 ppm for a maximum input concentration of3 ppm.
AfterfilterThe PE dust filter located after the unit cleans finedust from the compressed air for a particle size of >25 m.The flow through the filter elements is from the out-side to the inside, which produces a greater effectivefiltration surface and also simplifies cleaning of thefilter element.
Multifunction unitThe multifunction unit certains the control blockwith the electronic control, three solenoid valves,two differential pressure sensors for the monitoringof the differential pressure across the filter elementsand the function block with integrated shuttle valvesto direct the air flow.
At the front panel of the multifunction unit, there is adisplay to indicate the operation of the dryer and theexchange intervals for desiccant cartridges and filterelements by means of 4 LEDs.
The condensate outlet is locatd at left, rear side.
The air inlet connection is located at the lower side,the outlet connection at the upper side.

La secadora por adsorcin con regeneracin en froUltrapac 2000 mini trabaja con fases de adsorciny regeneracin alternativas
En los dos recipientes de adsorbedor tiene lugar deforma alternativa el secado del medio en unadsorbedor, mientras que el otro adsorbedor esregenerado. Este procedimiento garantiza un serviciocontinuo.
La regeneracin del medio de secado cargado dehumedad tiene lugar con una corriente parcial delaire secado.
Para ello, se descarga la presin del adsorbedor cor-respondiente mediante una vlvula de membrana quese encuentra en la unidad multifuncional. Un caudal parcial del aire secado pasa a travs de unestrangulador del adsorbedor en fase de secado aladsorbedor para regenerar y a travs de los amorti-guadores de sonido a la atmsfera.
Pasados 100 segundos se cierra la vlvula demembrana. De esta forma es establece de nuevopresin en el adsorbedor a regenerar.Pasados 20 segundos se conmutar al otroadsorbedor.
5.2 Function
The Heatless-Regenerating Adsorption Dryer Ultra-pac 2000 mini is working with alternating adsorp-tion and regeneration phases.
The medium will be alternately dried in one of theadsorbers while the other adsorber is being regenera-ted. This procedure ensures continuous operation.
Regeneration of the humidity laden desiccant iseffected by means of a partial stream of dried air.
By means of a diaphragm which is located in themultifunction unit, the corresponding adsorber isexpanded to atmosphere. Via a throttle the partialstream of air is led from the adsorber which is inadsorption to the adsorber which is in regenerationphase and via a silencer to atmosphere.
After 100 seconds the diaphragm is closed. Pressurebuilds up in the regenerated adsorber.After another 20 seconds the dryer switches to theother vessel.

6.1 Safety information concerning transport
Take special care in transporting or loading andunloading the unit. Never use force!
Ensure that you never exceed the maximum safeloading limits of the load-bearing members at theplace of installation.
6.2 Installation
The operator of the unit bears the responsibilityfor correct installation and layout of the pipingleading to or from the unit.
Planning and installation of protection againstovervoltages, short-circuits and overloads doesnot come within the responsibility of Donaldson.
General Information
High-Performance Dryer Ultrapac 2000 minishould be set up vertically with due regard for thedirection of flow marked.Ensure that the dryer is not set so that thedirection of flow is reversed.
In the same way, avoid parallel switching ofmultiple dryers without separate volume flowlimiters.

Condensate treatment / disposalSince the condensate contains contaminants and tra-ces of oil, it must be collected and treated accordingto environmental legislation. Compressed air quality

7 Puesta en marchaPara evitar errores en la primera puesta en marcha,aconsejamos que sta sea efectuada por el serviciopostventa de Donaldson.
7.1 Trabajos preparatorios
El secadora de adsorcin est equipado de fbricapara unas condiciones de trabajo de 100 psi; 100Fcon el elemento estrangulador n 8. El volumen desuministro incluye otros dos estranguladores para 60y 70 psi de presin.
Si en el lugar de la instalacin existen otras condicio-nes de trabajo, hay que cambiar el elemento estran-gulador conforme a las condiciones reinantes. Determinar la presin de entrada:
Presin de entrada > 100 psi = Estrangulador n 8Presin de entrada < 100 psi = Estranguladorconforme a la tabla de estrangulacin.

7 StartupIn order to avoid mistakes in the initial startup, werecommend that the initial startup is done by Donald-son after-sales service.
7.1 Preparatory Work
The Adsorption Dryer is provided at the factory forthe operating conditions 100 psi and 100F withthrottle no. 8. There are two further throttles for 60and 70 psi pressure in the scope of supply.
The throttle must be replaced by a corresponding oneif the operating conditions are different at the placeof installation. Determine the inlet pressure:
Inlet pressure > 100 psi = throttle No. 8Inlet pressure < 100 psi = throttle as per thethrottle table
Warning!Precise matching for pressures > 100 psi may only beundertaken by Donaldson after-sales service!
If Donaldson is informed beforehand about differingconditions of use at the place of installation, thedryer is fitted with a suitable throttle at the factory. Inthis case no further throttles are included within thescope of supply.

4 Volver a montar el filtro posterior en el aparato ycomprobar el ajuste correcto de las juntas.
5 Poner el secador en marcha (vase captulo 7.2Primera puesta en marcha en la pgina 20).
Advertencia! Anotar la presin y el nmero del estrangulador

7.2 Primera puesta en marcha
Efectuar la primera puesta en marcha, teniendo enconsideracin las advertencias hechas, siguiendo elorden siguiente:
1 Comprobar que las vlvulas A y B en la tuberade by-pass (opcin) estn cerradas y que elmando elctrico est desconectado.
2 Someter la secadora lentamente bajo presin abri-endo lentamente la vlvula A.
3 Abastecer luego el mando elctrico con corriente.
4 El mando comienza con la fase de establecimiento depresin en ambos adsorbedores. Seguidamentecomienza la fase de regeneracin de uno de losadsorberdores y la fase de adsorcin del otroadsorbedor.
7.1.1 Installing the Throttle
1 Remove the after-filter (see section 9.1 Chan-ging of filter elements on page 25).
2 Undo screw DG 60 x 25 (3.7 lbf ft).
3 Pull the throttle out with pliers (see section 5.1Parts of the unit on page 11) and grease the O-rings before install the new.
4 Reinstall the after-filter in the unit and check outthe correct placement of the seals.
5 Put the dryer back into operation (see section 7.2Initial startup on page 20).
Note! Enter the pressure and mounted throttle number
into the data sheet, section 13 Appendix frompage 33. Confirm the details with your signature.Any claims under warranty made to themanufacturer can only be made once the datasheet has been filled in.
7.2 Initial startup
Carry out the initial startup with due regard for theinformation given in the sequence described below.
1 Check that valves A and B in the by-pass line(optional) have been closed and that the electricalcontroller has been switched off.
2 Slowly build up the pressure in the dryer byslowly opening valve A.
3 Apply power to the electrical controller.
4 The controller starts with the pressure build-upphase in both adsorbers. Finally, the regenerationphase begins in one of the adsorbers and theadsorption phase in the other adsorber.

Observar que por el transporte o el almacenamientode la secadora ha podido entrar humedad del aireambiental en el desecante. Por ello, la secadoradebera regenerarse por lo menos 3 horas antes de laprimera puesta en marcha, antes de abrirse lavlvula de cierre B hacia la red de aire comprimido.
5 Abriendo lentamente la vlvula B se integra lasecadora en la red de tuberas de aire comprimido.
6 Cerrar la vlvula C, en caso de que sta estuvieseabierta durante la puesta en marcha.
Advertencia!Unas regulaciones que no coincidan con lasregulaciones necesarias para las condiciones de trabajocorrespondientes afectan al funcionamiento del secadorSolamente sern necesarias nuevas regulaciones en laprimera puesta en marcha o cuando cambien lascondiciones de trabajo.
7.3 Puesta fuera de servicio
Para las secadoras que funcionan en servicio conti-nuo son necesarios los siguientes pasos para la puestafuera de servicio:1 Cerrar las valvuleras de cierre de la secadora
(vlvulas A y B, vase "FIg. 5: Tubera de by-pass" en la pagina 20).
2 Dejar en servicio el mando hasta que ambosadsorbedores se hayan regenerado completa-mente (despus de dos establecimientos de pre-sin). La instalacin est ahora sin presin.
3 Poner fuera de servicio el mando, desconectandola caja de mando del abastecimiento de corriente.
En todo caso se deber evitar que por la secadora cir-cule an aire comprimido despus de la puesta fuerade servicio, ya que entonces se corre peligro desobrecarga del desecante y ste no pueda ya ser rege-nerado por la instalacin secadora.
7.4 Nueva puesta en marcha
1 Someter el secador lentamente a presin, abriendo lentamente la vlvula A.
2 Conectar ahora la corriente elctrica para el sumi-nistro del control elctrico.
3 Comprobar la presin de entrada y compararlacon los datos del captulo 13.1 Hoja de datos enla pgina 33 (sustituir el estrangulador si fueranecesario).
4 Al abrir lentamente la vlvula B, se integra elsecador en la red de los conductos del aire com-primido.
Note that moisture from the ambient air can get intothe desiccant as a result of transport or storage of thedryer. For that reason the dryer must be regeneratedfor at least 3 hours before the initial startup beforebutterfly valve B is opened to the compressed airnetwork!
5 The dryer is integrated into the compressed airnetwork by slowly opening valve B.
6 Close valve C if this had been opened during startup.
Note!Changes in settings that differ from those required forthe relevant operating conditions affect the properfunctioning of the dryer. New settings are only requiredat the time of the initial commissioning or if the opera-ting conditions change.
7.3 Shutdown
The following steps are essential when shuttingdown dryers that are in continuous operation:
1 Close the cutoff devices of the dryer (valve A andB, see "Fig. 5: By-pass line" on page 20).
2 Leave the controller in operation until both adsor-bers have regenerated fully (after twice pressurebuild-up). The unit is now decompressed.
3 Terminate the operation of the controller by cut-ting off the control box from the mains powersupply.
Avoid under all circumstances a situation in whichcompressed air continues to flow through the dryerafter a shutdown, as it leads to a risk of the desiccantbeing overloaded, and it will not be possible to rege-nerate it again within the dryer unit.
7.4 Restarting
1 Slowly build up the pressure in the dryer byslowly opening valve A.
2 Turn on the power for the electrical controller.
3 Check the inlet pressure and compare with thevalues given in section 13.1 Data sheet onpage 33. Change throttle if need.
4 The dryer is integrated into the compressed airnetwork by slowly opening valve B.

Les rogamos anotar todos los estados de servicio yparmetros de ajuste en el momento de producirse elfallo.
Antes de buscar de forma especfica las causas de losfallos ocurridos, es absolutamente necesario compro-bar los siguientes puntos:
Est el secador daado por fuera o faltan compo-nentes de la instalacin?
Hay suministro de tensin al secador y corre-sponde el tipo de voltaje al voltaje indicado en laplaca de identificacin?
Se ha instalado el estrangulador correcto con-forme a las condiciones de trabajo reinantes (pre-sin de entrada) (vase captulo 7.1 Trabajospreparatorios en la pgina 19)?
Se ha ejecutado debidamente la puesta en mar-cha (vase tambin el captulo 7 Puesta en mar-cha en la pgina 19)?
Se encuentran en la posicin correcta todas lasvlvulas de cierre externas?
Responden los parmetros de entrada (caudalmx., presin de servicio mn., temperatura deentrada mx.) a los datos indicados en la hoja dedatos?
En la lista siguiente se pueden encontrar datos para elreconocimiento y la eliminacin de fallos en la seca-dora de adsorcin.
Se deber observar que la instalacin sea puestafuera de servicio de la forma debida y que no tengapresin ni tensin, antes de examinar o cambiar par-tes de sta.
Aconsejamos que los trabajos especificados seanefectuados nicamente por el servicio postventa deDonaldson.
8 Fault Messages and Troubleshooting
Please list all fault messages, operating states andparameters setting at the time that the malfunctionoccurred.
Before the causes of the faults that have occurred arelooked for specifically, the following points must bechecked first without fail:
Has the unit been damaged externally or are anyparts missing?
Is power being supplied to the unit, and does thetype of power correspond to that listed on thetype plate?
Was the correct throttle installed on the basis ofthe applicable operating instructions (inlet pres-sure) (see section 7.1 Preparatory Work onpage 19)?
Was the startup carried out properly (see section 7 Startup on page 19)?
Are all external butterfly valves in their correctpositions?
Do the input parameters (max. throughput, min.operating pressure, max. inlet temperature)correspond to those given in the data sheet?
In the following list, you will find limits for thedetection and remedy of faults on the AdsorptionDryer.
Please note that the unit has to be shut down properlyand has to be depressurerized before you check orexchange components of the dryer!
We recommend to have the works, described below,is only to be carried out by Donaldson aftersales ser-vice.

9 Mantenimiento y entretenimiento
Los trabajos de mantenimiento y entretenimiento sedebern efectuar peridicamente segn las tablas demantenimiento y entretenimiento adjuntas. Si los tra-bajos no se efectuasen dentro de los intervalos esta-blecidos, el fabricante no asumir ninguna garanta nide servicio ni de funcionamiento de la instalacin.
Aconsejamos firmar un contrato de mantenimientocon Donaldson, para garantizar de este modo unmantenimiento y un entretenimiento ptimos de lasecadora de adsorcin.
Emplear nicamente piezas de repuesto y accesoriosoriginales del fabricante. En caso de emplear piezasno originales, el fabricante no asumir ningunagaranta ni de servicio ni de funcionamiento de lainstalacin.
9.1 Cambio de los elementos de fil-tro
El cambio de los elementos de filtro tiene lugarsegn los siguientes criterios:
1 Tras un tiempo mximo de empleo de 8000 horasde servicio.
2 A ms tardar despus de un ao.
3 Cuando se encienda el diodo correspondiente enel display.
9 Maintenance and Servicing
The maintenance and servicing work is to be carriedout regularly per the attached maintenance and ser-vicing tables. If this work is not carried out at the sti-pulated intervals, the manufacturer assumes noliability whatsoever for the operation and functioningof the equipment!
We recommend the closing of an Donaldson servicecontract, in order to assure optimum maintenance ofthe adsorption dryer.
Only use original spareparts and accessories from themanufacturer. The manufacturer assumes no liability whatsoeverfor the operation and functioning of the equipment ifnon-original parts or materials have been used!
9.1 Changing of filter elements
The changing of filter elements is based upon thefollowing criteria:
1 After a maximum use of 8000 operating hours.
2 After one year, latest.
3 If the corresponding diode at the display is lit.

Cambio de los elementos de filtroLos pasos especificados a continuacin se puedenaplicar tanto para el filtro previo como para el filtroposterior.
1 Quitar el tornillo (HEXAGON 5 mm; 6 lbf ft).
2 Girar la unidad de filtro y tirar de ellahacia abajo (filtro previo) o haciaarriba (filtro posterior) para extraerla.
3 Quitar los 4 tornillos(TORX 40; 18.5 lbf ft).
4 Extraer la brida del filtro y el elementode filtro. (Extraer en el filtro previo el tubo fle-xible de condensados!)
5 Desatornillar el elemento de filtro.
6 Atornillar un elemento de filtro nuevo,en caso necesario engrasar la roscacon vaselina.
El montaje tiene lugar en el orden contrario.
Atencin! Tornillos autoterrajadores (de roscacortante)!Para el montaje, introducir primera-menteel tornillo en el orificio roscado. Despusgirar el tornillo en el sentido contrario alas agujas del reloj hasta que haya entradoen la primera espira de rosca. Ahora sepodr apretar el tornillo.
Exchange the filter elementsThe following steps to be carried out apply to the pre-filter and the afterfilter.
1 Undo the screw(HEXAGON 5 mm; 6 lbf ft).
2 Pull out the filter unit downwards (pre-filter) or upwards (afterfilter).
3 Undo 4 x screws.(TORX 40; 18.5 lbf ft).
4 Pull out the filter flange and filter element; pull off the condensate hosefrom the pre-filter!
5 Unscrew the filter element.
6 Screw in the new filter element, afterhaving greased the threads with Vase-line.
Reassembly is done in the reverse order.
Warning! Threaded (self-tapping) screws! First place the screw in the threaded holeduring assembly. Turn the screw anti-clockwise until the first thread has enga-ged. Now the screw can be done uptightly.

El cambio del cartucho de desecante tiene lugarsegn los siguientes criterios:

Advertencia! Despus de cambiar los cartuchos de secante hay quepulsar en la platina del controlador el interruptor dereset con el controlador apagado, con el fin de ponera cero el contador de cambio de cargas.El interruptor de reset debe pulsarse slo una vezdespus de cada cambio de cartucho!La puesta a cero del contador de cambio de cargas nofunciona con el controlador encendido.
9.2 Changing of the desiccant cart-ridge
The changing of the desiccant cartridge is based uponthe following criteria:
1 After a maximum period use of 10000 operatinghours.
2 After a maximum of 2 years, latest.

Note!After the desiccant cartridges have been exchanged,the reset switch on the controller board must beoperated when the controller is off so as to reset thecycle counter.The reset switch should only be pressed once eachtime after exchanging the cartridges!This resetting of the cycle counter does not function ifthe controller is switched on.

Cambiar el cartucho de desecante
1 Aflojar el tornillo(HEXAGON 5 mm; 6 lbf ft).
2 Girar la unidad del filtro posteriory extraerla hacia arriba.
3 Aflojar el tornillo (TORX 30; 3.7 lbf ft) en la caja de lasboquillas y retirar el soporte deltubo ligeramente de la tapa deladsorbedor.
4 Aflojar los 8 tornillos (TORX 40; 18.5 lbf ft).
5 Extraer la tapa del adsorbedorcon los cartuchos del productosecante tirando de la caja de lasboquillas ligeramente hacia laderecha.
6 Extraer el cartucho del productosecante girndolo.
7 Enroscar el nuevo cartucho delproducto secante. Tener cui-dado de que la rosca no se ladee(sin figura)!
El montaje se realiza en el ordeninverso, teniendo en cuenta lo quesigue:
Volver a instalar todas las juntas!
Tornillos autoterrajadores (derosca cortante)!Para el montaje, introducirprimera-mente el tornillo en elorificio roscado. Despus girarel tornillo en el sentido contrarioa las agujas del reloj hasta quehaya entrado en la primeraespira de rosca. Ahora se podrapretar el tornillo.
Confirmar el cambio de loscartuchos a travs del interruptorde Reset. (Ver Advertencia! enla pagina 27).
Exchanging the desiccant cartridge
1 Undo the screw (HEXAGON 5 mm; 6 lbf ft).
2 Swing out the filter unit andpull it out downwards (prefil-ter).
3 Undo the screw (TORXscrew 30, 3.7 lbf ft) at thenozzle housing and lightlypull the hose holder up fromthe cover of the adsorber.
4 Undo 8 x screws (TORX 40, 18.5 lbf ft).
5 Pull out the adsorber coverwith the desiccant cartridgeby pulling the nozzle housingto the right.
6 Pull out the desiccant cart-ridge.
7 Screw in the new desiccantcartridge, and ensure that it isnot cross-threaded (withoutfigure)!
Reassembly is done in thereverse order, and the followingshould be noted: Put all the seals back in
place!
Threaded (self-tapping)screws!First place the screw in thethreaded hole duringassembly. Turn the screwanti-clockwise until the firstthread has engaged. Now thescrew can be done up tightly.
Acknowledge the cartridgechange by the reset switch(see Note! on Page 27).
