Federal Bonding Program
Fidelity Bonding is insurance purchased to indemnify employers for loss of money or property sustained through the dishonest acts of their employees (i.e., theft, forgery, larceny, and embezzlement).
DOL issues Fidelity Bonds free-of-charge to employers who hire “at-risk” applicants to insure against loss
Bonds issued in $5,000 increments…up to $25,000 in some cases

WOTC Tax Credit
WOTC is a Federal tax credit incentive DOL issues Fidelity Bonds free-of-charge to employers who hire “at-risk” applicants to insure against loss
Participating employers are compensated by being able to reduce their federal income tax liability
Employers can now claim as much as: $2,400 generally for each new adult hire, $1,200 for each new summer youth hire, $4,800 for each new disabled veteran hire, and $9,000 for each new long-term TANF recipient hired over a 2-yr. period.
WOTC Tax Credit
By Participating in the WOTC Program Employers:
Make the hiring decision; Complete minimal paperwork to claim the tax credit; and Are not limited in the number of new hires who they can claim for
these tax savings.
An employer must request and receive certification from his/her state workforce agency (SWA) that the new hire is a member of at least 1 of the 9 WOTC target groups before the employer can claim the WOTC on its federal income tax return.
