The Corner Store – A New Look For An Old Friend and DINING Roberta Mastrogiovanni, owner of The Corner Store, stocking disc golf supplies. Some things just get better with time. The recent changes to The Corner Store in Keene are proof of that. “For some time now I’ve wanted to renovate the store and create more floor space for our expanding product line,” says owner Roberta Mastrogiovanni. A Keene resident, and retail veteran who has managed dozens of stores ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 square feet, Mas- trogiovanni took over the store from Al Guymond in 2002. At the time, it was a prototypical newsstand, selling magazines, newspapers, and cigarettes. Over the years, Mastrogiovanni added snacks, beverages and other conve- nience-store type items. It also became an agency for the Greyhound Bus Lines. But with changes to the newspaper and magazine industry, she wisely shifted the inventory, responding to trends that her customers showed interest in. Recently, and with the goal of keep- ing the store’s original feel, new floor- ing, countertops, and showcases were added, along with a fresh coat of paint. New products have also been added, including new CBD products, disc golf (an exciting new outside sport that’s right at home during these pandemic times), pipes, and state-approved hemp products with medical applications. “There’s a lot of misinformation about CBD,” explains Mastrogiovanni. “New customers are unsure of what products to purchase for their own specific health needs, which is where we come in, offering information and guidance.” The store sells locally- sourced CBD products, which ensures consistent quality and competitive pricing, along with products that help with the transition away from nicotine products. The Corner Store is located at 67 Main Street and can be contacted at 603-357-4696. For listing of the store’s products, visit mycornernews.com.
