Vision and Missions

Agroforestry is widely adopted by communities as an integrated land use

system that can bridge the efforts in enhancing the productivity of agricultural land and forests to meet the demand for

food, shelter, energy and other environmental services as a buffer of life,

which is based on the development of science and technology in accordance

with local wisdom

Vision:

Research themes Impact Strategies Outcomes Impacts

• Resolution of conflicts between communities and the government on the use of forest areas;

• Smooth implementation of the Community Based Forest Management program;

• Management of forests in accordance with their functions

• Farmers better prepared to tackle the consequences of climate change;

• Investments by actors (farmers and industries) in agroforestry practices to increase carbon stocks;

• Well developed agroforestry business models with positive impacts to increase carbon stocks.

• Well developed agroforestry business models with good impacts on environmental services (for example, water and mangrove ecosystems;

• Increase in vegetation cover in critical mountainous areas

Wide adoption of agroforestry by

communities in their land use systems with the capacity to bridge multiple objectives of forestry development

Research Theme 1:• Strengthening market access and

bargaining power of farmers;• Increasing productivity and
