LED Superscreens / Video Screens Superscreens is the common name given to large outdoor video replay screens, generally relating to their „super‟ size. LED-Signs manufacture LED screens in any size, from the smallest of indoor screens right through to extremely large skysigns that can be installed 30 or more stories off the ground. The traditional superscreen, being video replay screens for sports stadiums and outdoor events are around 30 square metres in size and sit mid range between indoor screens and skysigns. Three items classify the type of screen and in turn the price:

- Indoor / Semi-Outdoor / Outdoor. Does the screen need to be weatherproof and industrial design or will it be used in a sheltered location. Indoor screens use a lower brightness LED and Outdoor screens require the latest in LED technology to achieve the brightness, viewing angle and colour balance. Semi-Outdoor relates to a mid range brightness LED, suitable for sheltered or high ambient indoor light and the housing being indoor rated construction.

- Pixel Size. This is the size of the pixel or „dots‟ that make up the image. The further the viewing audience is from the sign the larger the pixel that can be used. A smaller pixel results in many more pixels per square meter and this directly relates to the price so you want use the largest possible pixel to achieve the viewing requirement. Consideration also needs to be paid to the number of pixels depending of the display requirement, for example a live video feed in high definition requires a greater resolution (number of pixels) that a screen to display text only.

- LED Component. Many grades of LED‟s are available in the low end specification. However in the high end there are a lot less and then they are classified into batch‟s and quality. This is the most difficult aspect of a video screen for a consumer to understand as the lifetime and colour of the screen is directly related to the component.
