Insights

I kept noticing jackets….

I didn’t know I was looking for one.

They were all more than…

I also saw lots of beautiful things for my home.

I would find something on…

Even more than jackets and furniture, I coveted the feathers in this Indian

headdress.

They were candies! Surely I could afford one of these!

But there was no price.

I searched for solace in dog-friendly stores. You can always tell by

the bowl of water outside the door.

I didn’t take my dog shopping. I wonder if she would have been welcome inside the store.

(You can see her in An Uncertain Beginning, my last assignment.)

Some places are more friendly to dogs than to people. This visitor center

never asked me if I needed help. How did they know I wasn’t just visiting?

Still, I didn’t find anything for just one dollar.

Some places were clearly going to be too expensive.

I had to…

That’s when I cheated.

would love for Christmas.

Here it is.

Oh. I can’t show you. That would spoil the

surprise. It’s for her Christmas

stocking. This is what we do on

the night of December 24th: we hang stockings from a fireplace.

They are magically filled with small gifts.

Gifts as small as this:

So that’s what I gained from Assignment #2.

Insights and Hidden Opportunities There are lots of

beautiful things out there that I could buy for myself or my house.

But that’s not what feels good.

What feels good is offering a gift to someone you love.

That’s how the magic happens.

you’ll never hear was: “Ou est ma tete?” by Pink Martini. I had it all picked out. Why won’t you hear it? Because I didn’t buy it.
