We give you thanks o Lord for Your ever present vigil in our lives. As you walk with us this day, our spirits are stirred, for there are persons in this world who are in need of Your love and protection. Help us to be tolerant of others, help us to see the good things that happen and the good in people around us. FOR THE FIRST TIME

Are those your eyes, is that your smileI’ve been looking at you from thereBut I never saw you beforeDon’t fix your hands holding mineNow I wonder how you could’ve been so blind

CHORUSFor the first timeI’ve been looking in your eyesFor the first time,I’ve seen who you areCan’t believe how much I seeAnd when you’re looking back at meNow I understand what love is For the first time

Can this be real, Can this be trueI’m the person I was this morningAnd are you the same in youIt sounds so strangeIt can not be All the longest love is right in front of me

CHORUSFor the first timeI’ve been looking in your eyesFor the first time,I’ve seen who you areCan’t believe how much I seeAnd when you’re looking back at meNow I understand what love is For the first time

Message by SVP Susan Ringol

Let us congratulate once again PE Ana Gustilo-Talapian, as she takes the challenge of leading our Club in RY2010-2011. Congratulations and thank you PE Ana!! PE Ana’s initial project is leading our Medical –Dental Mission on Nov 14, 2009. Being the Health & Hunger Chair, she has taken responsibility of engaging the Doctors and Nurses for this activity. She has also managed to get a free Blood Testing kit for 50 patients and ECG services for 50 patients. To top it off, she has also solicited some medicines from United Laboratories. In support of this project Rtn Nilda also solicited medicines from Pascual Laboratories and from Generics Doctor’s Pharmacy thru her friend and former Greenbelter Frank Manila, in addition to the medicines we have solicited form the District Office. We are all set for our medical-dental mission. In the afternoon, let us all unwind and join our members who will celebrate their birthday in our Fellowship Dinner and Raffle Draw in the evening of Nov. 14, 2009 at Music 88 KTV, Blue Wave, Pasay City. Let me thank also Rtn Rose Leonida, for being our Club’s First Sustaining Paul Harris Contributor this Rotary Year. Thank you! Thank you! Let us have more Paul Harris contributors before this Rotary Year ends. Another event on Saturday, Nov 14 is the I.T. Workshop which we are also co-hosting. We have many more projects in line and we should not falter for the Future of Rotary is in your Hands!!

EVERY ROTARIAN AN EXAMPLE TO THE

YOUTH

In 1949, the RI Board adopted the slogan “Every Rotarian an Example to Youth” as an expression of commitment to the children and youth in each community in which Rotary Clubs exist. Serving young people has long been an important part of the Rotary program. Youth service projects take many forms around the world. Rotarians sponsor Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, athletic teams, centers for disabled children, schools safety patrols, summer camps, orphanages, recreation centers and children’s hospitals. Many clubs provide vocational counseling, establish youth employment programs and promote the use of the 4-way-Test. Increasingly, drug/alcohol abuse prevention and AIDS awareness projects are being supported by Rotarians. In every instance, Rotarians have the opportunity to be models and mentors for the young people of their community. One learns to serve by observing others. As youth grow to become adult leaders, it is hoped that each will achieve the same desire and spirit to serve future generations.

The slogan accepted over 50 years ago is just as vital today.
