5 5 Easy Grader Abel Cedillo Eddie Truman 3/15/6 SA 5f 1:00.2h TT B- Was let run throughout and ridden out through the lane to record fast clocking in solo training track drill, final three

furlongs in :11.2 and :35.4, solid drill on the comeback trail for Truman. Lightly-raced 7-year-old mare has had more than her share of issues but seemed health enough here. Getting fit and seems likely to return for a moderate tag.

6 6 Mongolian Window Jose Valdivia, Jr. Enebish Ganbat 5/15/18 SA 4f :48h B- Big rider up, solo half mile move while mostly on her own, final three furlongs in :11.2 and :35.4, a bit awkward changing

leads but moving well enough through the lane. Been a grass specialist throughout her career but seems to handle the dirt just fine.

7 7 Winsinfashion Edwin Maldonado George Papaprodromou 20/1

8 8 Zillinda Ruben Fuentes Bruce Headley 10/1 5/8 SA 6f 1:14.4hg C+ Worked inside Anna Fantastic (same time) for Headley and was pretty much even throughout, let run a bit early but

under no real pressure through the lane, splits of :24 flat, :35.4, :48.2 and 1:15 flat on our watches, fair to moderate for veteran claiming mare. Comes off restricted (nw-2) $12,500 score and seems about the same.

9 9 Incredibly Lucky Umberto Rispoli William Spawr 4/1

 Race #3 Starter Optional Claiming - 6F D

FOR THREE YEAR OLDS WHICH HAVE STARTED FOR A CLAIMING PRICE OF $50,000 OR LESS AND WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR CLAIMING PRICE $40,000. Weight, 122 lbs. Non-winners Of A Race Since December 31 Allowed 2 lbs.

2 2 Brickyard Ride Jorge Velez Craig Lewis 3/1

3 3 Call Me Daddy Evin Roman Doug O'Neill 5/15/16 SA 5f 1:00.1hg B- In team drill from gate inside Pardsy (5f, 1:00.2hg), splits of :23.4, :35.1, :47 flat and 1:00.1 while a length clear when

pulled up at the furlong pole. no real pressure at any stage, decent enough for O'Neill. Been away since December, broke his maiden at Los Alamitos easily but probably didn't beat a whole lot. Doesn't appear to be totally cranked up yet, may be raced into shape.

4 4 Promise Nothing Tiago Pereira Rafael Becerra 3/1

 Race #4 Maiden Special Weight - 1M T

FOR MAIDENS, FILLIES AND MARES THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs. [Non-Starters For A Claiming Price Of $40,000 Or Less In Their Last Start Preferred].

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Lookintogeteven Victor Espinoza James Cassidy 12/1 5/1 SA 4f :48.1h C+ Solo half mile main track spin for Cassidy, ridden through the lane, final quarter mile in :25.1. Is what she is.

2 2 Resarcio Brice Blanc John Shirreffs 4/1

3 3 Nurse Goodbody Umberto Rispoli J. Kruljac 7/2

4 4 Wind and Hope Flavien Prat Simon Callaghan 6/1

5 5 Convincingly Drayden Van Dyke Michael McCarthy 12/1 5/10 SA 5f 1:02.4h C- Worked outside Dolci (5f, 1:01.3h) and was close up to the top, then couldn't keep up despite urging and fell back in a

disappointing manner, splits of :25 flat, :37 flat and 1:02.4 on our watches for M. McCarthy. Been away since October, either isn't fit or hates dirt. Hard to endorse based on this drill.

6 6 Journal Entry Geovanni Franco Carla Gaines 12/1 5/8 SA 5f 1:02.4h TT B- Another solo five furlong drill for Gaines on training track, very easy to the top, then was asked pretty good through

the lane and responded well enough, final three furlongs in :12.2 and :37 flat. Seeking a two-turn maiden turf affair, plenty fit.

5/1 SA 5f 1:00.2h TT B+ Solo five furlong training track drill for Gaines, going off easily under a nice hold and then storming home when asked some through the lane, splits of :25 flat, :37 flat and 1:00.3 on our watches, eager and sharp. Finished a good third off a long layoff and has come forward since, should be set for a top effort.

7 7 Dipping In Mario Gutierrez Doug O'Neill 5/14/25 SA 5f 1:01.3h B- In company outside A Thousand Dreams (same time) for O'Neill and may have been a tad the best outside, never really

asked much, splits of :24.3, :36.2 and 1:01.3 on our watches, decent enough for eight-race maiden. Hit the board in each of her last three starts and holds that form.

8 8 Zest Abel Cedillo John Shirreffs 3/15/20 SA 4f :48.2h B Breezing in solo half mile main track drill, finishing in good rhythm, final three furlongs in :11.3 and :36.1. Stepping

forward.

5/13 SA 5f 1:00.1h B- Went off quickly, then was ridden a bit through the lane and finished okay, splits of :11 and :36.1 for Shirriffs. Tapit filly probably has some improvement in her, lightly-raced, may prefer grass and should be seen soon vs. maidens over a distance of ground.

9 9 Brandons Danger Tiago Pereira George Papaprodromou 30/1

10 10 Enchanted Nile Jorge Velez Neil Drysdale 12/1 5/11 SA 4f :50 TT B Easy through the lane in solo training track drill, plenty left, final quarter in a sharp :24.1, much better move than slow final

time might indicate. Looks good for Drysdale, think she has a chance to improve with experience.

11 11 Bristol Bayou Mike Smith John Shirreffs 6/15/13 SA 5f 1:00.1h B- Urged in the final stages, final three furlongs in :11.3 and :36.3 for Shirreffs. Maiden looks about the same.

6 6 Fellow Citizen Flavien Prat Peter Miller 6/1

7 7 Sky Jumper Drayden Van Dyke Bob Baffert 6/55/16 SA 5f 1:00.2h B- Inside War Path (same time) and was a bit the best at the wire without really being asked (workmate under mild

pressure), splits of :11.4 and :37 flat for the final three furlongs for Baffert. Sparingly raced and no doubt has some issues but should be set for a good effort in a moderate spot.

8 8 Undeniable Proof Ruben Fuentes Vann Belvoir 20/1

9 9 Cryin' Chuck Victor Espinoza John Sadler 8/15/10 SA 5f 1:02.1h C+ In company inside Soldier Boy (5f, 1:01.1h) and was even to the top before fading in the final furlong while under some

late coaxing, splits of :11.4 and :36 flat, so we assume he went faster than the official final 5/8ths time. Not bad on the clock but should have been able to put up some fight in the final furlong. Question mark.

 Race #6 Allowance Optional Claiming - 1M T

FOR THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON $15,000 OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING OR STARTER OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR OPTIONAL CLAIMING PRICE OF $40,000. 1 1 Fivestar Lynch [IRE] Flavien Prat Richard Baltas 5/15/13 SA 4fq :48.1h TT B Worked inside Untouched Elegance (same time) in team training track drill and may have been a tad the best at the

wire under some coaxing, final three furlongs in :12 flat and :35.3, strong through the lane. In good shape and may have another forward move in him. Prefers turf.

2 2 Red King Abel Cedillo Philip D'Amato 7/25/11 SA 5f 1:00.4h TT B- Worked inside Gregorian Chant (5f, 1:00.3h TT), breaking off a length in front and then finishing slightly best at the

wire, splits of :24.3, :36.3 and 1:01.1 on our watches, a tad slower than given but decent nonetheless. Form suggests he needs a marathon trip to be most effective but might do okay if give a chance to shorten up a bit.

3 3 Turn the Switch Edwin Maldonado Peter Eurton 5/15/4 SA 5f 1:01h B- Broke off several lengths in front of Dark Vader (5f, 1:00.2h), and was never really asked through the lane to wind up head-

and-head at the wire, spits of :24.1, :36.1 and 1:01.1 on our watches, then continued out to 7/8 pole in 1:14.4 for a full six furlongs, not bad for Eurton. Lightly-raced, in good shape, may have some improvement in him, most effective when held up early.

4 4 Avalanche Victor Espinoza John Sadler 4/15/20 SA 4f :50h TT C+ Let run a bit through the lane in solo training track drill, final three furlongs in :12.2 and :37.1. About the same.

5/14 SA 5f 1:01h TT C+ Was niggled at thru the lane, final three furlongs in :12.1 and :37 flat. Have seen him a bit sharper in the past.

FOR MAIDENS, THREE YEARS OLD AND UPWARD. Three Year Olds, 120 lbs.; Older, 126 lbs. Claiming Price $40,000..

PGM PP RUNNER JOCKEY TRAINER M/L

1 1 Beaumont Beaux Ruben Fuentes J. Desormeaux 15/1 5/3 SA 6f 1:16hg C+ In gate drill outside Hard Pass (6f, 1:16.1h, broke poorly) and was a tad the best under mild urging through the lane,

splits of :25.4, :37.3, :50 flat and 1:15.4 on our watches. Not terrible but needs real soft maiden claimers (and probably a distance of ground) to have any shot on this circuit.

2 2 Polar Wind Evin Roman Clifford Sise, Jr. 6/1

3 3 Press Briefing Abel Cedillo Peter Miller 5/1

Page 4: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Sunday, May …...9 9 A Man's Man Umberto Rispoli Brian Koriner 5/1 5/2 SA 4f :48.1h B Some coaxing thru the lane but well, final three furlongs

4 4 Full Draw Victor Espinoza John Sadler 3/12/17 SA 4f :47.4h B- Have a work on this maiden way back in mid-February, not bad in solo half mile work while being permitted to show his

speed, final three furlongs in :11.2 and :35.4 for Sadler, mild coaxing in the final stages. Maiden by Union Rags is an un-raced 4-year-gelding so he must have issues but displayed some ability here and will be properly spotted by Sadler when he finally makes it to the post.

5 5 Show Business Jorge Velez Richard Mandella 8/15/7 SA 5f 1:00.4h B Broke off a couple of lengths in front of Explosive (same time) and was best to the wire, perhaps a half length in front but

never asked and appearing considerably best, good move for R. Mandella, final half mile in :11.2, :23.2 and :49.4, fast early, slowish late but geared down in the final stages. Form isn't much but may improve with a class drop into the maiden claiming ranks.

6 6 Candy Shopper Umberto Rispoli Mike Puype 12/1

7 7 Da Kine Agapito Delgadillo Richard Baltas 7/25/16 SA 5f 1:01h TT B- Some urging in the upper stretch but then finished mostly on his own close home in solo training track drill for Baltas,

final three furlongs in :11.4 and :36.1, decent enough. May improve but needs softer assignments.

3 3 Cajun Treasure Drayden Van Dyke Peter Eurton 8/14/22 SA 5f 1:02h B Broke off several lengths behind Ekklesia 5f, 1:02.3h) and closed the gap through the lane to be head-and-head at the

wire, never asked a drop while merely galloping, splits of :23.4 and :49.3 for the final half mile. In good shape for Eurton, returning well off a long layoff may display better form as a first-time gelding. Getting fit.

4 4 Move Over [GB] Agapito Delgadillo Hector Palma 12/1

5 5 Irish Heatwave Abel Cedillo Doug O'Neill 6/1

6 6 Border Town Flavien Prat Richard Mandella 3/14/24 SA 5f :59.3h B+ Worked outside United (same time) for Mandella and was mostly in hand while a tad second best to classy workmate

(breezing), splits of :23.4, :35.1 and :59.4 on our watches, smooth drill for lightly-raced and improving War Front colt. Got to think he'll be tough on the raise after beating maidens in good style last time out.

7 7 The Street Fighter Edwin Maldonado Bruce Headley 12/1

8 8 Mountain Spirit Umberto Rispoli Jeff Mullins 10/1 5/17 SA 5f 1:03h B- Not really asked much through the lane in solo five furlong main track drill, final three furlongs in a useful :11.3 and :36.4

for Mullins. Sort of a plodder but may have a bit of improvement in him.

9 9 Dark Hedges Aaron Gryder Andrew Lerner 8/15/7 SA 6f 1:15h C+ Outside Tick Tock (5f, 1:02.4h) for Lerner, breaking off a couple of lengths back and then finishing head-and-head at the

wire before continuing out to 7/8 pole, splits of :13.1, :25.3, :37.1, 1:02 flat and 1:15 flat. Fair to moderate move, seems fit, needs to be realistically spotted.

5 4 Bluegrass Patriot Evin Roman Mark Glatt 8/14/17 SA 4f :47.2h B- In company inside No Slo Mo (same time) and was a tad the best, both being ridden thru the lane, splits of :11.3, :23 flat

and :47.1 on our watches, okay drill for Glatt. Bluegrass Cat gelding has a bit of ability and is getting fit.

6 5 Clayton Delaney Flavien Prat Philip D'Amato 4/14/25 SA 4f :49h TT B- Outside It Better Be Gold (same time) in training track drill for D'Amato and may have been slightly second best, never

really asked much but without changing leads, final three furlongs in :37.1. Grazen colt is getting fit, may have some run, probably will debut vs. maiden special weight Cal-breds in a few weeks.

Page 5: Siegel's Workout Analysis Santa Anita Sunday, May …...9 9 A Man's Man Umberto Rispoli Brian Koriner 5/1 5/2 SA 4f :48.1h B Some coaxing thru the lane but well, final three furlongs

7 6 Caerulean Mario Gutierrez Ben Cecil 10/1 5/6 SA 5f 1:00.4h TT B= Worked inside Elgofranco (same time) in training track drill for Cecil and went stride-for-stride to the wire under light

coaxing only, not bad at all, final three furlongs in :35.4. Probably a bit better than his debut shows and should be able to improve with experience.

8 7 Betito Abel Cedillo Kristin Mulhall 12/1

9 8 Brace for Impact Edwin Maldonado Bruce Headley 7/2

10 9 Colonel Mike Eswan Flores Marcia Stortz 20/1

11 10 Lil Richards Bello Assael Espinoza Peter Eurton 6/15/18 SA 5f 1:00.1hg B In company inside Summer Fun (5f, 1:00.3hg) in team gate drill for Eurton and displayed good quickness while proving

best by a couple of lengths, splits of :23.2, :35 flat, :46.4 and 1:00.1, actually eased up a bit in the final stages after being allowed to show his speed in the opening furlong. Have to think he's fit based on this drill, isn't really bred to be a sprinter but does have some speed. Should surface soon.
