landscapes and the shallow draft enables her to navigate closer to shores. With the fleet of 12 onboard Zodiacs and
an expert expedition team guests can land on isolated shores and explore wildlife and ecosystems up-close and in-depth.
The all-suite accommodation with ocean views, large deck space and stylish surroundings offer considerable comfort and there is also a butler service to personalise your stay and take care of your anticipated needs. The atmosphere on board is relaxed and geared towards the discovery of

AIR CONDITIONINGAll cabins have individually controlled heating and air conditioning.
ALL ABOARDYour times for embarkation and disembarkation will be detailed in the daily Chronicle and also be announced by the expedition team.
ANNOUNCEMENTSDuring your time on board, various announcements will be made by the ship’s crew and your expedition team. Please listen out for these announcements as they will be of importance or interest.
BAR/BEVERAGESA selection of fine wines, spirits, champagnes, soft drinks, specialty coffees and water are complimentary throughout the ship, and your in-room bar and refrigerator will be replenished upon request with your preferences. (A selection of premium wines and champagnes available at an additional charge).
BEAUTY & MASSAGE ROOMBeauty and massage services available on board include hair styling, manicures, pedicures, massages and other spa treatments. Appointments for these services may be made on board the ship. To ensure the dates and times you prefer, we suggest you book your appointments early in your voyage. Customary charges will apply.
CABIN DIMENSIONS & FACILITIESAccommodation on board is arranged over four decks. Each suite affords considerable comfort with en-suite bathroom and outside views. Suites are spacious ranging in size from the View Suites at 181 square feet to the Medallion Suite which measures 408 square feet. All suites feature butler service and your suite’s refrigerator and bar are stocked with your preferred beverages including wines and spirits. Your butler will replenish them upon request. Amenities in the suites include luxury bed linen and bath amenities, iPod docking station, flat screen television with on-demand movies, music and satellite news programming, robe and slippers, hairdryer and Wi-Fi internet access (charges apply). The beds in each suite offer exceptionally comfortable mattresses and can be configured as double or twin.
CURRENCYIt is a good idea to exchange some of your funds at a bank before leaving home as the ship does not facilitate any currency exchange on board. The currency on board Silver Discoverer is the US dollar.
DAILY PROGRAMMEEach evening the next day’s programme, Chronicle, will be delivered to your suite.
DRESS CODEThe dress code on board ranges from casual to informal. Casual wear is appropriate for daytime aboard ship or ashore, and shoes should be flat or low heeled for deck activities. Evening attire is casual with the exception of the Captain’s Welcome Aboard and Farewell Dinners, which are casually elegant. On casual evenings, open-neck shirts, trousers and casual wear are appropriate. On the two casually elegant evenings, women usually wear dresses or trouser suits; men wear jackets (tie optional). Remember to pack swimwear.
ELECTRICITYSilver Discoverer has 110 AC power. Most modern electronic devices support dual voltages, but if you are uncertain, please verify your equipment prior to plugging it in. The electrical receptacles on the ship accept plugs of a type known as North American non-grounded or type A. In particular, please be advised that devices such as generators, lamps, electric motors, electric shavers, hairdryers, clocks and some video equipment may be incompatible with the 1100v/609 Hz power. A hairdryer is provided in each suite/stateroom. If you wish to bring along other equipment, you should verify if a voltage transformer or other conversion device is necessary. Ordinarily, simple plug converters will suffice for laptop power supplies and many devices with rechargeable batteries such as cell phones, iPods, or digital cameras. We do advise that you read the labels on each particular device to determine the compatibility. Remember to bring an adequate supply of batteries for the voyage. Because of the environmental hazards inherent in the disposal of batteries, we recommend rechargeable batteries for most applications. To protect the fragile environments where Silver Discoverer sails, we request that guests retain all their exhausted batteries and dispose of them in an environmentally safe manner after you return home. For your convenience, there is also a battery disposal box on board.
EMERGENCY AND SAFETY PROCEDURESIt is mandatory that all guests participate in a Zodiac briefing and safety drill, which is normally scheduled to take place prior to departure from the port of embarkation. Please note that emergency information is posted in your suite/stateroom.

EXPEDITION TEAM Throughout your cruise you will be accompanied by an Expedition Leader and an experienced expedition team who will be happy to assist you with any queries or requests.
FITNESS CENTRESilver Discoverer is equipped with a Fitness Centre that is open daily, and offers stationary bikes, a treadmill, top machine, leg extension machine and free weights.
GRATUITIESGratuities have been included in your holiday price.
HOUSEKEEPINGThere is a twice daily suite service.
INTERNET ACCESSOnboard internet services are available with a range of pricing plans. Guests may use their own laptop with wireless card to conveniently access the internet and personal email in the privacy of their own suite, and at Wi-Fi locations throughout the ship. In remote areas, a regular and steady internet connection cannot be guaranteed.
KEYS TO SUITEEach suite will receive their own key card. This will be used as your key and also to swipe in and out of the ship.
LAUNDRY & VALET SERVICEComplete valet services, including laundry and pressing, are available at an additional charge and may be arranged through your butler.
LIBRARYThe Library is well stocked with an extensive selection of reference books.
LIFTThere is a lift on board.
LOST PROPERTYLost property can be handed in to the ship’s reception. Please ensure you have all of your belongings with you before you return home. Should you leave items on board the ship we are only able to return them to you at your own cost.
MEALSThe Silver Discoverer features a variety of dining options including The Restaurant, The Grill and complimentary Room Service. The open-seating policy allows you to dine when and with whom you wish. The Restaurant menu features sumptuous classical and modern cuisine with the local delicacies from our different ports of call. Low calorie, low carb, vegetarian and vegan options are also available. For lunch the outdoor grill serves casual lunchtime salads and specials. Come evening, the outdoor grill is transformed into The Grill featuring “hot rock” dining under the stars. This fun, interactive cooking concept allows guests to grill their own seafood and prime meats directly at their table on a heated volcanic rock plate. Dinner reservations recommended and may be made once on board.
MEDICAL SERVICESSilver Discoverer is equipped with a Medical Centre. A doctor is on 24-hour call when at sea. When docked, supplementary emergency care may also be obtained through local medical facilities. Guests may be charged for medical services and for medications used for their medical treatment.
MOSQUITOESPlease ensure you take the appropriate precautions to guard against mosquito bites.
NEWSPAPERSNewspapers are not available on board.
OPERATIONAL CHANGESItineraries are unstructured by design. Following only a tentative schedule allows for moment-by-moment flexibility to stay longer at sites of particular interest, or make slight detours whenever weather, nature or mere curiosity dictate. Guests will be notified of any required deviation as soon as possible.
PAYMENTS ON BOARDUpon embarkation, guests will be asked to register their VISA, Master Card or American Express credit card number and expiration date, which must be valid through the final day of their voyage. All charges for services provided and products purchased on board must be settled in cash, by travellers’ cheques in US dollars, or by above listed credit card at the end of each voyage segment and before final disembarkation from the ship.

POOLThere is a swimming pool situated on deck 5.
POSTPostage and mailing services are available on board the ship. Please note that due to the remote destinations visited during your expedition cruise, it may not be possible to send or receive mail.
QUESTIONNAIRESA questionnaire will be provided to all passengers towards the end of their sailing. We would be grateful for you to complete and return this.
ROOM SERVICEYou may order from the Room Service menu between the hours of 6am and 11pm.
SAFEYour suite/stateroom is equipped with a personal safe, located inside the closet. Please take great care with your money, jewellery, cameras, binoculars, documents and any other articles that you retain in your personal control or keep in your suite/stateroom. We recommend that you leave money and other valuables in the safe.
SMOKINGFor safety reasons, smoking is not permitted in any inside public areas, staterooms, guest suites, verandas or balconies. However, cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking are permitted in specifically designated outside areas on Deck 6. We kindly request that all guests observe the non-smoking areas.
TELEPHONEA telephone is available within your cabin.
VISITORSVisitors are not permitted aboard the vessel. The ship’s operators reserve the right to deny boarding to any persons.
WATERA complimentary water bottle is available in your suite and is refilled each day by your butler.
ZODIAC LANDING CRAFT Silver Discoverer carries a fleet of Zodiac boats, allowing you to explore places that would otherwise be inaccessible. To reach destinations where there are no piers and for islands surrounded by shallow waters, Zodiacs are the perfect solution. These rigid boats are specifically designed for nature study, and are very rugged, as well as safe, sturdy and durable. They are easy to board, whether at the ship or ashore, and are operated by highly-trained crew. A Zodiac is an exceptionally buoyant rubber boat with an inflatable hull of multiple air-filled compartments, a feature that allows the Zodiac to float even should a compartment become deflated. A low centre of gravity makes Zodiacs very stable. Zodiacs are also agile, allowing them to easily come alongside Silver Discoverer, and to manoeuvre over reefs and between narrow passages. All guests will participate in a mandatory Zodiac familiarisation session upon embarkation.
