I had my first camera when I was only 2 years old: my grand-father is a photographer, my uncle is a photographer, also everyone in my family, including my father, is good at drawing. My first memories go back to when I used to take private drawing classes once a week after school with Professor Carotti.

One day watching an adv on tv I had know sand animation and I had think it was fantastic. I tried first on the garage table just to see if I could do it, then I decided to look more into it. I grew up near the beach, on a rocky beach, the feeling of sand was new to me but also very nice, it felt light, soft and sensual.

I think more a painter, even when I work with sand or do scratches on the segments, too me it feels like being in front of a canvas looking for something personal that represents me fully. My hands are like my painting brushes and sand is the The end result is obviously much different, but the spirit is the same, the image holds the same concept and expression.

I don’t think I have a strategy, I try to express my emotions with my hands, my eyes, Silvia’s taste, different from anyone else’s, therefore recognizable.

Sand sketches are magic: first I love them, then hate them, then love them again, I sometimes wish they came out different. Sand is being a friend right now because it’s fast and it can be destroyed easily to start over. I film their evolutions, especially if an image really attracted my attention I take a picture and laugh at it thinking how strange it is to associate a very primor-dial material with something so technological.

My dreams is what I haven’t done yet and hope never to do, I want to pursue it forever.
