The Artists’ Book Fair was actually the first of a few different and ongoing projects within the collective. Each project has a theme to work with and develop visually, making sure to keep on a graphic design track. SixteenHT - Identity and promotion
The Sixteen HT visual identity is based around the logo which takes influence from the collective name. SixteenHT comes from the street name and house number that the collective lived together in, which is the reasoning behind the street-sign styled logo. Because the collective is exclusively about print, the decision was made to create a stamp for applying the logo
manually, reminiscent of the process of screen print. It is predominantly used on business cards, making no two cards exactly the same. The success of the book fair was the first full scale promotion of the collective, and opened up several other opportunities. It was low budget to produce the work, and any profit was kept as a collective fund for future use.

SixteenHT - Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis was the first of the themes used for the International Artists’ Book Fair. The concept takes inspiration from biological metamorphosis in the animal kingdom, specifically from the development and eventual shedding of skin from insects. The main body of the project consists of editions of five A2 posters across 4 designs, each screen printed with a
two colour gradient on 300gsm black and white stock. This creates a total of 40 posters, combined with 6 limited edition 1180 x 130mm consertina books of the same designs.

SixteenHT - Metamorphosis
Noise was a project opportunity that came as a result of the Artists’ Book Fair, in which the collective were approached via email regarding an invitation to exhibit at a public gallery space in Norwich. The 2012 Print Odyssey is an exhibition celebrating the use of screen print across a range of applications, for which the theme of “Noise” was chosen as the basis of all designs.
Each of the 5 designers in the collective created one design of ten editions to work collectively as a set of five posters. The limitations were in size and colour; A3 prints in red, blue, and yellow. The concept behind this print is the age old philosophical question; “If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise?...”

SixteenHT - Boundaries
Boundaries was another project opportunity that presented itself to us very late in the brief process. Another print event became open to the collective, and the theme of boundaires was decided to produce prints toward. This 3 layer screen print design has been created as a classic but simplified maze puzzle in the illustrative style of castle walls. In this sense the boundaries
are represented as both the maze itself and the catle walls that create it. The third screen layer is an illustrative addition creating ten small knights with a variety of personalities. The 2 designs are for a 170 x 120mm greetings card on 300gsm off-white stock, with editions of 10 each.
