2. How are the following characters represented in this scene? Extension task: also state to what extent you think each representation is positive or negative.

Tony: Self obsessed/ narcissistic (negative) Cares a lot about looks (negative) Shown as smart or intelligent Likes to annoy father Rebellious

Effy: She is silent through out the opening Rebellious Out partying all night Seen as the goof girl by her parents

Sid: Lazy, untidy and messy He looks up to tony He represents most teenagers his age He is seen as the normal teen who

stays in bed all day

Tony’s Dad: Always angry Oblivious to children’s behaviour Swears a lot He has a negative fell about him

Tony’s Mum: Much more calm than father Also oblivious to children’s behaviour Keeps the peace in the house She is a positive character

The woman across the road: She could be seen as unfaithful Wants people to look at her Wants any kind of attention from

people May like tony

3. What do these representations suggest about different age groups?

These representations suggest that different age groups are stereotyped in different ways for example the teens are seen to be rebellious, some self obsessed, lazy, messy and untidy where as the adults are seen as more stupid as they are oblivious to what there children are doing some of the adults like the father believe that they have power over the kids but really the kids that control of them. The teens are also seen to be rebellious partygoers and regular drug users.
