Fall Hazards

- Do not use as a personnel lifting platform or step.

- Do not stand on any part of lift.- Do not climb on mast.

Collision Hazards- Do not lower platform unless area is clear of personnel and

obstructions.- Mast extends 1 1/2 feet higher than platform to 9 1/2 feet. Be

aware of ceiling height, sprinklers, lights, or other overhead objects.

Damaged Machine Hazard- Do not use a damaged or malfunctioning machine.

Function Tests

Function tests are designed to discover any malfunctions before the machine is put into service. The two tests should be performed before normal operation of the ServerLIFT. Before testing, select an area that is solid, level and free of obstructions.

Note: After testing, if malfunctions are discovered, the machine must be locked in OFF status and removed from service. Repairs to the machine may only be made by or under the directions of a qualified service technician.

Stabilizer Function Test (see pg. 11 for stabilizer operation details)

1. Press down red stabilizer pedal completely until you hear and feel it lock into place. The stabilizer should stay depressed after your foot is removed.

2. Attempt to move ServerLIFT. The lift should resist any motion with stabilizer engaged. If lift rolls or stabilizer does not remain depressed, follow instructions (see pg. 17) to adjust stabilizer.

3. To release stabilizer, press the green release pedal and allow stabilizer pedals to return to their original positions.

Winch Function Test

1. Insert key and turn to the on position.2. Depress switch to move lift up. Test the full range of motion all

the way up and all the way down. The platform will automati-cally stop in the fully extended and fully retracted positions. If the lift does not travel the entire range of motion in a consistent manner, contact your sales representative.

Warning: Mast extends 1 1/2 feet higher than platform to 9 1/2 feet. Be aware of ceiling height, sprinklers, lights, or other overhead objects.

3. Repeat step 2 with the second switch.4. Turn off unit.

Platform Operation

Step 1To move platform from side to side you must first pull out handle into extended position.

Step 2Once handle is in extended position push down lever to unlock. This will allow movement of the platform from left to right up to six inches in each direction with incremental adjust-ments.

Step 3Move platform out to desired lock position. Load server onto rack. After server has been loaded onto rack and secured, move platform back to center position and push handle into retracted position.

Stabilizer Operation

To engage stabilizer, depress the red stabilizer pedal until stabilizer locks in down posi-tion. The stabilizer should stay depressed and stabilize the lift. If you are able to move the lift around freely, the stabilizer is not function-ing properly. Contact your sales representative.

Once the red stabilizer pedal has been depressed and is stabi-lized, the lift can be used. Turn power on and press control switch to operate lift. Load server onto rack properly and return platform to down posi-tion.

Once the platform has returned to the down position turn off unit. To disengage stabilizer, press on green stabilizer release pedal and slowly pull foot back allow-ing both stabilizer pedals to return to their original posi-tion.

Caster Swivel Lock Operation(Front Casters Only)

UnlockedTo disengage swivel lock, pull out ring and turn 90 degrees in either direction. Then allow ring to align in vertical grooves as shown.

LockedTo engage swivel lock, pull ring out and turn 90 degrees in either direction. Then allow ring to align in horizontal grooves as shown.

Charging Battery

To fully charge battery, you must plug charging cord into a wall outlet for at least 8 hours. The charging cord may be left plugged into wall outlet while not in use.

Note: Battery must be charged every 2 weeks - even when not in use.

Inspect Cable & Pulleys

Cable Inspection:

1. Fully lower platform and inspect upper cable section. 2. Open front panel and fully raise platform while inspecting sec-tion of cable near the winch.

When inspecting cable, you should look for:

•Broken wires or cut strands•Distortion such as: kinking, uneven strands, crushed parts, change in cable diameter, or strands coming off•Wear •Corrosion

Pulley Inspection

1. Remove upper panel and inspect front upper pulley. (see pg. 16)2. From the rear of the machine, locate and inspect rear upper pulley. 3. Locate and inspect lower pulley on bottom of the ServerLIFT.

Note: If cracks or extreme wear exist, immediately contact sales representative for replacement parts.

Fuse Replacement

The Reverse Polarity Protection Fuse will blow only if battery is wired with reverse polarity. To access the fuse, open the front panel. The fuse is located on the Main Control board. When replacing the fuse, be careful not to touch any part of the surround-ing control boards.

Open front panel to inspect battery and terminals. If corrosion exists, clean terminals with wire brush. If cracks are visible or if corrosion is severe, immediately contact ServerLIFT Support for replacement.

Stabilizer Adjustment

Note: Adjustments should be made if ServerLIFT moves after stabilizer is engaged and is unstable during operation.

1. Move ServerLIFT to a smooth, flat surface2. Press red stabilizer pedal until it locks.3. Loosen set screw (6mm allen wrench) on side of stabilizer pad.4. For optimal adjustment, turn stabilizer adjustment rod (use adjustable wrench) until stabilizer pad is flush with floor, then turn another 1/2 turn.

5. Re-tighten set screw before machine use.

Caster Lubrication

Note: Under normal use, casters do not need lubrication during the life of the machine.

1. If squeaking does occur, lubricate top fitting first, then lower fit-ting if squeaking continues. 2. With a standard grease gun, place grease gun fitting over caster grease fitting. Be careful not to overfill bearings.

Note: Thoroughly clean and remove any excess grease after casters have been lubricated.

Winch Oil Replacement

OIL

Note: Replace winch oil every year. Adding more than the suggested amount of oil may result in damage to motor or gas-kets.

1. Remove large bolt with 8mm allen wrench2. Feed siphoning tube into opening and down to bottom of oil reservoir 3. Siphon oil with standard pump4. Add 10oz of new 30W oil5. Replace and tighten large bolt

Limited Warranty

LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGEThe limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship of the ServerLIFT SL500 (collectively “Equipment”) in the contiguous United States and provincial Canada. The warranty is not transferable. The warranty applies only to the original end-user owner of the Equipment unless prior written notice is received by and approval given by ServerLIFT.

For the Warranty Periods listed below, ServerLIFT Corporation (henceforth “ServerLIFT”) warrants that the Equipment:

1. Will be free from defects in materials and workmanship.2. Will perform substantially in accordance with ServerLIFT’s published specifications.

ServerLIFT will repair or replace any parts that are in-warranty in accordance with the Limited Warranty Return & Repair Policy listed below.

LIMITED WARRANTY PERIODSThe Warranty Period is one year from the day of delivery except for the following components:

LIMITED WARRANTY EXCLUSIONSThe warranty is void if:• The applicable Warranty Period has expired;• The Equipment has missing or altered serial numbers; or• The Equipment has been repaired or modified by an agent not authorized by ServerLIFT.

The warranty excludes all damage to the Equipment, including but not limited to:• Damage incurred during shipment (other than shipping with a ServerLIFT contracted carrier);• Damage caused by impact with other objects, drops or falls, including external case cracks, dented or punctured case, broken latches, torn covers, broken doors, or physical breakaway of internal components;• Damage caused by intrusion of foreign matter into the Equipment;• Damage to internal components caused by power surge;• Damage to electrical connectors including corrosion, broken and/or bent pins;• Damage to Equipment caused by environmental corrosion;• Damage caused by improper maintenance;• Damage caused by use of appurtenances not supplied by ServerLIFT or failures which result from alterations, modifications or foreign objects;• Damage caused by the use of the Equipment for purposes other than for which it was designed• Damage caused by other abuse, misuse, neglect, accident, negligence, mishandling or misapplication; and• Damage attributable to acts of G-d.

Limited WarrantyLIMITED WARRANTY RETURN & REPAIR POLICYFor warranty assistance call ServerLIFT Corporation at 1-602-254-1557 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, Monday through Friday (excluding observed holidays), email [email protected] or visit http://serverlift.com/support/.

Equipment that fails to comply with this warranty shall, at ServerLIFT’s sole discretion, be repaired or exchanged for an equivalent replacement. You are responsible for returning the non-conforming Equipment, properly packaged, to ServerLIFT during the Warranty Period. ServerLIFT will pay return shipping costs of Equipment serviced under the Limited Warranty.

To obtain warranty service or to return Equipment, written notification must be made to ServerLIFT in advance via email ([email protected]) or fax (1-602-254-1975) that must include the following information:

• Equipment serial number;• Date of original Equipment receipt;• Original ServerLIFT invoice and/or invoice number (proof of purchase);• Contact information of the end-user and location of Equipment; and• Description of the problem and/or desired service action.

In the event of a return or repair that is determined to occur at ServerLIFT’s facilities, you will be issued a Warranty Repair Authorization (WRA) number and shipping instructions. Otherwise, ServerLIFT will arrange onsite service based on a mutually convenient schedule.

Equipment returned with a void warranty and/or without prior notification to and approval from ServerLIFT may be repaired and/or shipped back to the end-user at their expense.

If it is determined that the problem is not covered under warranty, you will be contacted with service alternatives available on a time and materials basis. You will also be responsible for all applicable shipping costs.

WARRANTY LIMITATIONSIN NO EVENT SHALL SERVERLIFT BE LIABLE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORT, OR ON ANY OTHER BASIS, FOR COVER OR FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SALE, SERVICES, MAINTENANCE, USE, PERFORMANCE, FAILURE, OR INTERRUPTION IN THE OPERATION OF EQUIPMENT, SERVICES, HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE, EVEN IF SERVERLIFT IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

This warranty and performance hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona without reference to its choice of law principles.
