Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. It is about the size of our Moon and looks rather like it.
Venus is the hottest planet. It has a thick poisonous atmosphere.
Earth is our planet. It is the only planet we know that has living things.
Mars is a cold, red planet. It has mountains, deserts and dust storms.
Jupiter is the biggest planet. It has a red spot which is a storm, bigger than the Earth.
Saturn is nearly as big as Jupiter. It has very big rings.
Uranus is the coldest planet. It is made from frozen gas.
Neptune is the last planet in the Solar System. It is similar to Uranus.
