LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
HAPPY SECOND ANNIVERSARY!
We are thrilled to present this anniversary issue to you. What can I say? We have enjoyed bringing you every issue and it has been a labor of love. Our mission has been to promote authors and their books, and we have succeeded. As of our May issue, we have promoted 370 authors and their books, and you’ll meet over 40 new ones in this issue. It has truly been a pleasure to bring you authors who open up and share with you their methods for making their books successful and how they have grown their reader base. They share things like writing techniques, plotting, dialogue, creating scenes, developing characters, outlining, scheduling, promoting, marketing, events, and how they create the worlds they set their books in. Successful authors have graced our pages writing instructional pieces and inspirational articles for you. Every author we have met has been such a blessing to all of us at Southern Writers. We hope you are enjoying the magazine and learning many things that are helping you with your writing. We now begin our third year and I can tell you we are as excited as ever. We already have many venues for authors to promote their books, and yet, we felt it wasn’t enough. So, we are in the midst of developing a few more venues to help authors promote their books in the future. Be sure to watch for the announcements. You will find Southern Writers is different. We are the author’s support team in promotion. Our whole magazine is created for published authors as well as beginning writers. Help us help you. If there are things you need, tell us. We have a terrific team of writers and designers who are eager to help authors. We know things are still changing in the publishing industry and we are doing our part to aid authors in their endeavors. Join Southern Writers; become part of our community. You will find many of your favorite authors in this issue. Karen White, A. J. Scudiere, Ann Hite, Julie Cantrell, Kathleen Y’Barbo, Kathy Lynn Harris, Lynn DeShazo, Ron Rash, Sandra Beasley, Rosalie Turner, Phyllis Dolislager, Natasha Brown, Lenore Skomal, Joan Johnston, Doug Alderson, Creston Mapes, Vicki Carroll, and Tommie Townsley, to name just a few. Be sure to check out their articles and interviews. Don’t forget to visit Magnolia Corner for great tips from authors, and discover great Southern reading in Sneak Previews and Must Reads.
Happy Anniversary!
