Court ServicesOur Court Services team works with attorneys who represent clients charged with misdemeanors or felonies relating to alcohol, drugs or mental health issues. Because of Proposition 36, courts are more inclined to divert nonviolent, minor drug oenders to treatment in lieu of jail or prison. Court Services functions as a patient advocate. We present to the court a comprehensive treatment plan created specically for the patient. We stay in contact with the court by providing patient progress reports and post-treatment action plans.
A patient beset by legal concerns cannot devote as much time to recovery as is necessary. Court Services alleviates many of these concerns by providing an array of services that help the patient remain focused on treatment. In addition to submitting patient progress reports to the court, Court Services provides the following:
Transportation to and from court
Treatment program acceptance and admittance letters
Discharge paperwork and a formal program completion letter
Extended Services (Fee Based) Any correspondence or documentation as requested by the court
Patients’ legal advocate at court dates

Our Comprehensive TreatmentSovereign Health provides two types of detox: traditional and Nutritionally Assisted Detox (NAD). Traditional detox gradually weans the body from its physical addiction to alcohol, drugs or both. NAD involves the use of vitamins, minerals and nutrients to accelerate the brain’s healing process. Our medical sta administers and monitors both detox programs.
Treatment begins at intake. Our intake coordinators perform a thorough assessment to identify all behavioral health issues. We use this information to construct a tailored treatment regimen to address the patients' needs. Not all patients require detox when they arrive. For those who do, detox can take a day or a week, depending upon the patients' state of addiction.
Most patients new to residential treatment are anxious. This is to be expected. Within a few days, most acclimate to the routine, the sta and other patients. Residential treatment involves drug, alcohol and mental health education classes. Patients engage in group and one-on-one therapy. Meals are served at scheduled times. Patients receiving substance abuse treatment are transported to 12-step meetings. Patients are housed in treatment homes owned and operated by Sovereign Health. Each patient is expected to perform a chore and to keep the home neat.
