This ebook is intended to act as a guide to:

Identifying noxious energies

Helping you understand the principles behind geomancy, such as balance andharmony

Introducing you to dowsing

Helping you understand some of the terminology used

Answering your questions about noxious or detrimental energies

Guiding you through sensing and clearing energies which are potentially harmfulto you

Offering you leads for further study

The definition of 'Noxious' is "injurious to physical or mental health" or

"harmful, poisonous or very unpleasant". In addition to these definitions, it

would be best to add "emotional health" as something which can be affected

by such energies.

Noxious Energy, Ghosts etc..

The question of what exactly noxious energy is and where it comes from is a complexone that depends on your belief system for an answer.

If you feel that your environment is external to you, then you will conceive of noxiousenergy as something out there that can harm you. Your picture of the source of thisenergy and how it manifests will depend on your educational and cultural background. The more strongly you believe in scientific explanations, the more rational your conception will be.

If on the other hand, you are more metaphysical, believing that things are not alwaysas we see them, then you will believe that humans take an active role in creating theirown environment, and that means EVERYTHING in it, including the bad stuff like noxious energies.

Page 6: Space Clearing

Therefore there are many explanations for what noxious energy is and where it comesfrom.

We will discuss the most common explanations for noxious energy, and you maychoose the one that fits with your belief system. Your belief system will also determinewhat will be the most effective method of clearing your space.

Ghosts and Discarnates

Ghosts are often associated with areas which do not feel good to live in. To many people, the concept of a ghost is easier to grasp than the concept of negative or noxiousenergies. However, ghosts are just as 'real' as anything else. They do exist and theycan interfere with your environment.

It will be worthwhile to take just a few moments to discuss what ghosts are. Firstly, although there are numerous good explanations of ghostly activities, there is no one single universally accepted definition of what a ghost is.

In our work at Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc, we take the view that a ghost is simply thespirit of a dead person (or animal) which has, for one reason or another, not moved onfrom this Earth plane as it should do.

Frequently, we find that the reason for this is due tofear of moving on, or lack of understanding of whattheir situation is. Sudden death often leaves a ghostbehind who cannot comprehend that they are dead.We have found that this definition is good and hasserved us well.

Not all ghosts are malevolent in intent. Indeed, mostof the ghostly sightings seem to indicate that theghost has little if any contact with the physical worldthat you and I inhabit.

A ghost may haunt a place (meaning that it has atendency to to be associated with one particular location), but few of them have specific intent to do anything to interact with us. We might feel indications of their presence;

Page 7: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 7

a sudden drop in temperature, a halfglimpsed figure, an invisible touch, but beyondthat our own fears frequently dictate our reactions.

Let us be quite clear that you do not have to be able to see ghosts in order to experience them. In fact you do not have to see them or experience them at all in order todeal with them and help them to move on to their proper place.

One highly experienced professional who has been dealing with such things for yearshas admitted that he has never seen one spirit at all, although he has often been informed by those who can that he has been surrounded by them in the midst of hiswork.

All that is necessary for you to remember is that, because you are dealing with the unseen, you must not fall into the trap of thinking that what you cannot see cannotharm you.

This is most emphatically NOT the case! If anything, you should consider taking care ofyourself in every way you can before tackling the unseen.

Treat everything you do with respect and care and be methodical.

Remember, if in doubt, don't!This is true of all discarnate entities.

A discarnate entity had a body at one time, but no longer does. That is what most people call ‘ghosts’. Discarnate entities can be human, animal or otherworld in origin. Discarnates retain their consciousness and will often attach to another living thing that hassimilar energy. This can be harmful to the person or animal, as they will then ‘feel’ theenergies, including pain and depression, of the entity.

Discarnates are a subgroup of entities as a whole. Some entities never had a body. Many come from other dimensions or universes, and do not even perceive us. Tothem, we might appear as a summer breeze or a rotten smell. These types of entitiesare often more detrimental even than ghosts, as their energy is so mismatched to ours. These are the types that can attach to people and lead to suicidal impulses, asocialbehavior and madness. We have dealt with such entities, and usually they have no realization of the pain they are causing. They just need to move on. It requires advancedtechniques to deal with such entities safely.

Page 8: Space Clearing

In other words, things without bodies can impact you and your property and to lumpthem all as ghosts is only going to make dealing with them more difficult and potentiallydangerous.

Why have your space cleared?

The importance of living and working in an environment which is conducive to humansand actively promotes wellbeing cannot be overestimated.

The common term for places which need energetic treatment of one type or another isthat they are geopathically stressed.

The first major studies of areas negatively affecting health (see Pohl, Hartmann, Curryand Bachler) found that there was a definite correlation between location and incidences of illhealth, particularly cancer.

You would not consider only cleaning your house once every ten years would you?

And so it is exactly the same with the energies in your home. You should, ideally, lookto keep them clear on a reasonable schedule.

It used to be that we recommended a clearing once every six months.

However, the changes in the energies of the Earth and other disruptions have broughtabout a situation where, at the time of writing, we urge people to have 4 clearings ayear.

Of course, the precise timetable will depend on the activities and the people who inhabit the environment.

Your environment should never get to the point of being bad.

Any detrimental energy will have an impact upon people to one degree or another.

For example, the effects may not be evidenced in obvious illhealth or a certain disease. It could be that it manifests in continued low levels of health such as coughs andcolds or headaches or other symptoms.

Page 9: Space Clearing

It might, instead, be apparent in the difficult relationships which develop in the housewhere the frequency of rows or other disharmony has increased for no discernible reason.

Another example might be that a house has been on sale for a long time and, althoughreasonably priced and in other aspects desirable, it just won’t sell.

Frequently, the reason for this lies in the energy of thehouse itself. Although it might not be geopathicallystressed, it might well be in need of a cleansing of the oldand stagnant energies which have built up in it over theyears.

On a subconscious level, the housebuying public is reacting to this unseen aspect of the house and avoiding itor only looking at it once before being pushed away fromit.

This is exactly what we experienced when we first lookedat a house we later bought. Neither of us felt like lingering at all. It became clear that the property needed serious clearing work. We then loved living there, and theproperty frequently received compliments.

There was also the case of a beautiful old cottage which we worked on when in theUK. It dated from the time of Henry VIII and had originally been stables. It was quitedelightful to look at, but had been on the market for two years with virtually no interestshown in it.

On arriving there, we discovered that one of the previous owners, an eccentric operasinger, had buried many cats in the yard over the years. In addition, there was a largeelectricity transformer near the house and various other old energies, not to mentionghosts and discarnates hanging around the place.

After working on it and clearing the energies of this delightful old place, it sold withintwo weeks.

Clear the Home and the Workspace

Having your space clear is important not only in the home. It is of equal importance inthe workplace.

Some businesses, for example, have many ill employees in one section or they suffera greater turnover of staff for no apparent reason. It could be that there are more accidents in one area than another.

All such incidences can be caused by detrimental energy affecting the building andthose who work in it. It might also be the cause of a business not thriving or doing lesswell than expected. After all, if people can find a house unattractive without knowing it,the same reaction can take place towards a business as well.

Are you the type of person who just can't stand to shop? Or maybe there are certainstores you just refuse to linger in. If this is true, you may be sensing noxious energies.

Retail businesses can increase their sales by making their premises energetically attractive to the public. The frequency of space clearing in these circumstances will depend on the amount of traffic through the store and the type of business it is.

Schools can also suffer from detrimental energies.

In these places it can show itself as worse behavior than normal, poor grades, or illness and lethargy (in the staff and wellas the students). There may be areas of the school subject togreater vandalism or general mistreatment than others.

In all such instances, having the area checked for the presence of noxious energies would be beneficial.

In other words, the main reason for having your space cleared is tohelp you to live in an environment which allows you to be ashealthy and whole as possible. Once you accept the concept ofdetrimental or noxious energies, this idea of regular work is an obvious step to take.

Space Clearing: an Old Idea

Plutarch

It has been known for a long time that not every part of the Earth is equally beneficialto everyone. For example, in the 2nd Century BC, Plutarch wrote,

'Men are affected by streams of varying potency issuing from the Earth. Some of

these drive people crazy or cause disease or death, the effects of others is good,

soothing and beneficial.'

(Plutarch was a Greek, born in about 46 AD and was a historian, biographer and essayist.)

The Romans also had the concept of the ‘genius loci’, or guardian spirit of a place.Usually shown as a snake, the idea was that this protective spirit should be placatedand given gifts (the idea of tossing coins in wells is from this idea).

The Vikings

The Vikings were, amongst other things, great believers in the role of the unseen spirits on the environment and the life of man.

The spirits of the earth were called earth sprites or Landvaettir. It was thought thatthese were necessary for the health of the community. Cooperation with them couldbring wealth, whilst crossing them could bring death.

So aware were they of the importance of these 'hidden folk' thatan old Icelandic law protected them.

It stated that ships were forbidden to have the fearsome carvedheads on the prows when land was sighted for fear that theywould frighten the Landvaettir and the land would be rendered'alfreka', making it spiritually dead by frightening away the spirits.

Another way of driving away the spirits was through the use of aNidding Pole upon which curses were carved and atop of whichwas placed a horse's skull.

Page 12: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 12

The idea was to so irritate or enrage the Landvaettir as to make them take actionagainst the cursed person or persons.

Such a curse was carried out in the 10th Century against an island's owners who wereforced to leave quickly. The idea of such beings as still capable of influencing events isvery much alive still in the Icelandic culture.

Nostradamus

Much later on, Michel Nostradamus (15031566) wrote

'Where plants perish and animals are absent, there you also should not live, the

place is unhealthy. You will experience disharmony and lose your poise. When you,

however, find the place where happy, vital and healthy people live, and many old

folk are in good health, than stay there. You will soon do without medicine or physi

cians. The mysterious forces of Earth will make you healthy.'

It was doubtless noted by many others prior to Nostradamus and we still have such asensation today when we can go into an area and just 'know' that the place is no goodfor us.

If you doubt that, then just ask anyone who has been to any of the Nazi death campsand ask them what they felt about the place.

Energy in the Earth

The idea of needing to keep one's space clear of streams, forces or earth spirits obviously goes back a long way. It can be seen in the various ideas which have been proposed about these forces in the earth.

Returning to the Vikings for a moment, one of their concepts was that of Önd. This, they believed, was the power behind life and growth, and one of the directions fromwhich it could be accessed was deep within the earth; the Chthonic Önd.

It was believed that this could affect consciousness and that a ritual or ceremony couldcharge up a place with Önd, thereby making it beneficial.

The Chinese

This idea of some sort of forces within the earth being able to influence us (for eithergood or bad) is also illustrated in the Chinese culture. The Chinese believe that 'sha'and 'chi' are present in various strengths in the earth and that every effort should bemade to draw in or live where the energy is good (chi) and avoid or negate the detrimental energy (sha) through the application of Feng Shui principles.

However, there is a clear distinction which should be made between the Chinese andthe Viking views.

Where the Norse believed that the 'hidden folk' were pretty much stable in the area, theChinese believed that chi energy was constantly flowing through the land and that itwas necessary to maintain that flow in order to avoid blockages (sha) when the detrimental aspects of such stagnation would then affect people.

Buildings and the Land

There is some reason to believe that buildings used to be placed with more regard tothe environment than nowadays.

There was an effort made to work with the physical space in such a way as to create amore harmonious environment. The loss of understanding of this principle may, in part, account for the problem of Sick Building Syndrome, or SBS.

Page 14: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 14

This has become so widespread that the World Health Organization has estimated thatabout 30% of all buildings may be Sick Buildings, based on the criteria that 20% of the

occupants may be experiencing health or comfort problems.

If only a part of the problem is due to the lack of harmony with the land, or due to anyof the above concepts of energies within the earth, then there is still a very sizable proportion of the world’s population which is being affected.

To begin to understand the importance of placement of buildings within the landscape, you should look to such practices as were carried out in the Roman and Chinese civilizations when the roads leading to important centers were straight (allowing the flow ofenergy).

Not only did that emphasize the importance of the place, it also allowed the flow of energy to be direct from the center to all the parts of the country.

Page 15: Space Clearing

Underground Water

It has long been the contention of geomancers and manydowsers that underground water is responsible for a largeproportion of the effects of geopathic stress. Some haveclassified the underground streams and given them termssuch as good or bad, black, sha (from Feng Shui), noxiousor detrimental.

Underground water frequently moves through very narrowfissures in the rocks below the surface. Apart from movinglaterally in such veins it can also be forced upwards until itbreaks through the surface as a spring. When blocked thewater makes a blind spring or dome of water beneath thesurface, with streams radiating back and away from thecenter, escaping where they can.

It is true that certain measurable effects take place above underground water flowswhich include radio frequencies and magnetic and electrical fields. Some individualswill certainly be susceptible to such things and will react adversely to them. Such statements are not supposition, but can be easily verified with sensitive instruments.

Early practitioners in this field assumed that the water was there to stay and advisedsufferers to move.

Later, physical methods were devised which moved the watercourse to a location better for the inhabitants. Most methods now associated with dealing with undergroundwater emphasize the metaphysical aspects and involve nothing more than focused intent to move the water course.

Water is very important. After all, we are made up of mostly water.

The ease with which water can 'pick up' and transmit energies such as thoughts hasbeen explored extensively by Dr Emoto in his books which show the way that the element reacts to various stimuli. His pictures demonstrate a wide range of reactions.

Now, the important point is as follows.

Imagine an underground stream running beneath your house. Further upstream from

Page 16: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 16

you, it is taking water from a tributary stream which has come from a small lake orpond. That pond is the setting for a regular meeting of disaffected people who takedrugs, and generally behave in an antisocial manner. It is easy to imagine the water, which flows beneath your house, carrying with it all the negativity picked up at that siteand your reacting to it, albeit in a mild way.

That is one of the main reasons why underground water is so important to take intoconsideration when dealing with geopathic stress.

And, yes, we have come across such situations in our work.

The key point to remember is that water can be imprinted easily. This imprinting can beeither positive or negative and it comes most usually from humans and human actions.

For another aspect of underground water and the way it can impinge upon health, seethe chapter "Gustav von Pohl".

Ley Lines

More and more often the term 'ley lines' is heard. In the context of this book, thesethings are often suspected of being responsible for the need to clear your space.

However, what people really mean when they use this termis not particularly clear. The following paragraphs will helpexplain this reason for this problem.

The term ley was originally used by Alfred Watkins, mostnotably in his book The Old Straight Track (1925). According to Paul Devereux (editor of The Ley Hunter journal), aley should not be longer than 25 miles and ideally shouldhave a minimum of five points of prehistoric significance. These, according to Watkins, were (in descending order ofimportance):

Mounds (such as burial mounds)

Stones (such as monoliths and standing stones)

Circular moats

Castles

Beacons

Traditional wells

Churches

Crossroads of ancient tracks

Road alignments (especially over a mile)

Fords

Tree groups (especially those on ancient named hilltops)

Single trees (only if ancient and named)

Notches (i.e. Sharp ‘dips’ in an otherwise smoothly curved hillside)

Track junctions

Camps

Ponds

Square moats

It can be seen from this list that the originalterms for leys refer to elements of the Britishcountryside.

The discovery of straight lines at Nazca inPeru and others in Bolivia and in ChacoCanyon, New Mexico, U.S.A. tend to lendstrength to the idea that these features wereonce more widespread and were the resultof actions and beliefs of ancient peoples.

This original geographical alignment of leyswas overlooked or ignored by those who began to propose that they were lines of energy, detectable through dowsing.

This idea of dowseable lines gathered momentum, particularly in the 1970's, when theterm 'ley lines' began to be used more widely. With the change of term came the ideathat these were dowseable lines of energy.By the time the idea entered the States, leylines were only thought of as lines of energy. The original conception had not traveledacross the Atlantic.

If the modern concept of ley lines is lookedat, then buried within it is the idea that somelines of energy are to be found within or above the earth.

This is similar to the Chinese idea of chi and also has interesting links with spirit roadsor lines which are conceived of as being straight and are common to many cultures.

Such 'spirit lines' or 'ghost roads' are to be found in South America (as noted) but alsoin Costa Rica, Holland, Germany, the Gilbert islands in the Pacific as well as in Britain.

Page 19: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 19

Other places and cultures also have reference to straightlines and spirits. The interesting aspect of all this is not justthe commonality of belief that spirits traveled in straightlines (in Ireland, such straight paths are called 'fairy paths'),but that the term we still use to designate something as being very precisely straight is 'dead straight'. Coincidence?

Because the modern use of the term has carried with itideas of straightness and distance, you will sometimes seereferences to ley lines which are really referring to ideassuch as the Hartmann Net or Curry Grid. In all cases, the

perception of such lines is dependent upon the belief system of the person making theinquiry.

Old representations of the energy flows in the earth are shown as dragons. There aresculptures of dragons where such lines enter and exit Chartres Cathedral, for example. The tale of St George and the Dragon may be a representation of how the earth washealed by killing or staking the 'dragon' of the energy.

It is perhaps not necessary to add that, if the common concept behind straight lines isthat they act as paths for 'something', then having your home on such a line is probablynot a good idea. You need to do something about it!

Frieherr Gustav von Pohl

Vilsbiburg

In 1929, Gustav von Pohl, a respected dowser, began asurvey of the small Bavarian town of Vilsbiburg, to systematically plot deaths from cancer and relate them tounderground veins of water.

The reason this small Bavarian town was chosen was that it had the highest cancerdeath rate of any German town.

This 1929 survey was carried out because of the interest raised by a survey by Winzerand Melzer in Stuttgart in the 1920s which seemed to make a correlation between underground faults and cancer deaths.

von Pohl did not talk to any of the people and he did not enter any of the houses. Hewas given a police escort so that he might be undisturbed. He marked on a map thosehouses where his dowsing indicated that the inhabitants were likely to get cancer.

Survey Results

The survey of this town of over 8,000 people was carried out under this careful supervision of the mayor and local police. There were 565 houses, about 900 apartments and3,500 inhabitants in the survey.

The results were then compared to the plotting of the cancer deaths by the medicaladvisor.

It was found that cancer deaths had an extremely strong correlation with these underground veins of water which von Pohl had dowsed.

In some 42 houses there were seven deaths from cancer recorded. When lead sheetswere placed below these beds with high death rates, the lead showed colored areasindicative of something affecting it which instruments of the time could not detect.

Page 21: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 21

Nevertheless, the precise nature of what von Pohl found is still not certain or settledbeyond a shadow of a doubt. Some claim that it is radioactivity to blame, whilst otherssay it is electromagnetic radiation.

Confirmation

Interestingly enough, von Pohl's conclusions were verified over 40 years later by a scientist named Jacob Stängle who had invented a device called a scintillation counter. This was a very sensitive instrument able to measure variations in background radiation.

During experimentation he discovered that it showed very precisely a sharp increase inradiation over underground water veins. In mapping a small area of Vilsbiburg again,he found that he obtained such reactions where von Pohl had dowsed undergroundwater.

This agreement gave strong support to the idea, now widely accepted, that geopathiczones are real and not imaginary.

Page 22: Space Clearing

Dr Hager

Von Pohl's survey stimulated interest among the central European medical professions.

In Stettin, the Medical Officer, Dr. Hager, undertook his own city survey of 5,348 cancer cases. He used dowsing to identify geopathic stress (GS) lines.

Amongst those homes he checked were three of elderly people. In one which had verystrong GS lines, 38 people had died there in the past 5 years of cancer. In a home withonly moderate GS, only two had died from cancer. In a home with no GS lines, nobodyhad died from cancer in the past five years.

Some places were found to be particularly dangerous. For example, 5 houses had resulted in over 120 cancer deaths, an average of 38 cancer deaths over 21 years!

In our own work, we have come across places which have proven unhealthy to the inhabitants. In one particular case, we were asked to investigate a bedroom. We found avery strong line crossing the bed at roughly where the the chest would be when sleeping. We suggested that anyone sleeping there would probably suffer badly from illness.

We were then told that the owner's wife had in fact died from cancer of the lungs about6 months previously.

Page 23: Space Clearing

Kathe Bachler

This Austrian lady was a teacher (and dowser) who became interested in the reasonsfor illness or learning difficulties in her students.

In a sense she was taking von Pohl's interests one stage further. Instead of concentrating solely on illness, she was concerned to discover if there was any common threadfor her students who were underachieving.

It was due to one of her pupils (who seemed always to be ill) saying that the doctorcould find nothing wrong which caused Kathe to begin her quest.

Having dowsed that the problem was where they weresleeping and correcting that, she took the results to theDirector of Educational Services in Salzburg. As a result of this, she was encouraged to investigate similarproblems in a wider area.

Eventually, she was able to work over most of Austria, discovering links between geopathic stress and illness.

In her words she said that

"Again and again it emerged that pupils who were always tired, those who were the

slowest, those who had the greatest difficulty in concentrating, those who were the

most forgetful and the most difficult, and those who were always ill, were all victims

of interference zone crossings."

(by "interference zone crossings" she is referring to places where either undergroundstreams cross or where there is a Curry Grid crossing. See the later chapter for an explanation of Curry Grids.)

History

In the 1970's, she dowsed 3,000 homes in 15 different countries and interviewed12,000 people. She concluded that 95% of the problem children she investigated sleptin beds or worked at desks which were over harmful sites in the earth.

Page 24: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 24

Again, in her words,

"All serious illnesses I have found up to now occur above interference crossings:

twitching, tinnitus, facial paralysis, angina, asthma, heart attacks, strokes, inflamma

tion of the kidneys, cancer (in more than 700 cases without exception) etc."

Further Information

All of her work is welldocumented, and she wrote a book called Earth radiation: Thestartling discoveries of a Dowser which described her findings in more detail.

Earth Grids

A note about the various earth grids is in order before we look at the most wellknownof them.

The grids have become more accepted (that is, there is some general agreement thatsomething is 'there') since the idea of the Earth as a living thing in its own right.

(This is known as the Gaia Hypothesis, first expounded by James Lovelock in 1979 inhis book, "GAIA A New Look at Life on Earth".) As human beings have grids(meridians and auras), so it seemed logical to accept that the Earth would also havesomething similar. But it is not quite as simple as that.

Firstly, there is some confusion about what these earth grids might be. Then there isthe question of what role they might play in the health of humans. Lastly, there is therather vexing question of how 'real' they actually are.

To begin with, there are an increasing number of grids which have been 'found' in oneway or another. There are the following major types: Curry, Hartmann, BeckerHagenUVG, 120 Earth Star, and Blue. In addition, there are also Michael, Mary, Athena andApollo lines.

The idea behind most of these is that there are invisible, but dowseable, lines of energy running within the earth. What they are composed of is still a matter of debate. Radioactivity, cosmic rays, or some as yet unknown form of energy are postulated. Butthere is no proof to date.

The origin of these grids is also open to debate. For example, the Curry and Hartmann grids (which are looked at in moredetail later on) are stated as having very precise origins.

The 120 Earth Star grid map, however (and it's derivative, theBlue Grid), is a way of explaining the location of all the majorcenters of timespace distortion, disappearances,or importantphysical points on the earth. It is an attempt to explain geophysical placement rather than human health.

It should be noted that these grids are not the same as ley lines.

Page 26: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 26

When you begin to look at how these might affect health, thenagain there are differences of opinion. Some people statequite categorically that certain illnesses are only to be foundin conjunction with certain grids.

Others take a more generalist approach and state that suchareas are to be avoided.

The explanation for this is that the energy carried by the gridsacts in such a way as to weaken the immune system of persons having long contact periods. Therefore the symptoms may be varied but the endresult is the same: illness, debilitude and and general poor health.

The last question, that of the reality of the grids, is perhaps the most surprising one ofall.

Before we look into that more closely however, it is worth pointing out that some people who have worked with the grids for a long time are now beginning to say that theeffects are lessening and that the whole grid energy is weakening. That, of course, opens up a whole new interesting area of speculation.

However, there is still the problem, not just of how real they are, but of whether we areactually seeing them accurately. There is little doubt that something is certainly there. What that something is, though, is open to debate.

Now that might sound very strange. However, what we are talking about is somethingwhich people perceive in different ways, as is evident from the preceding paragraphs. The problem with perception is that it is determined by many different factors.

Take, for example, the Chinese idea of energy (qi or chi) flowing through the land. When it was first conceived, it was felt that this energy was flowing through the landmuch as blood flows through the veins. Therefore, it was perceived as following sinuous lines, rarely straight ones.

Contrast this perception with the Germanic view as expressed the Curry and HartmannGrids. As the term suggests, these are perceived as being very regular, like a mesh, not flowing and undulating as the Chinese perceive.

Page 27: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 27

Of course, this is not to say that the both the Chinese and the Germans are looking atthe same thing. But what IS interesting is that they both perceived things which fittedwell within their perception of the world.

The Germanic character is often expressed in regularity and order. The Chinese character is less so, more adaptable perhaps, more free to move as circumstances dictate. Is there not a similarity between the culture and how that culture perceived the energywithin the land?

It is this aspect of only being able to perceive as your culture and upbringing allowwhich brings the whole question of the reality of earth grids into focus.

Because they seem to explain a lot, the Curry and Hartmann grids have become morewidely accepted than any other grid. Yet, as we hope to have explained, this does notmean that they are the complete, true or accurate answer.

If the central concept behind the earth grids is correct (that the Earth is a living thingwith energy flowing through it) then it is also reasonable to accept that to limit suchflows (or grids) to a bare handful would seem unlikely. Many more are probably awaiting discovery.

It would also seem that as we live upon the Earth, we are, perhaps, part of one or moreof the grids ourselves. Therefore, we will have difficulty in measuring precisely or cataloging accurately all such grids or flows which are around and within us; part of who weare.

With this proviso, that our knowledge is limited and our perceptions weak, we will introduce the two major grids in the following chapters and add comments as to the varyingways in which they are perceived.

What this means for you is that you should be aware that grids (or something likethem) do have a role to play in human health. The key factor in this whole jumble ofconflicting perceptions is that you keep an open mind and try to be honest in what youperceive and how you perceive it.

You might find that for you, for example, the Curry grid is wider or narrower than thetolerances suggested. It does not matter. What matters is that you are able to perceivethe problem. Feel free to give it what label you want.

Page 28: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 28

On a personal note, we have not found the grids easy to locate. If we are giving demonstrations to a class, then they can be found. However, in normal, daytoday working, we tend to not use them and instead concentrate on other flows of energy in theland. The reason for this might be the weakening of the lines as noted by one researcher in the following chapter.

One example will, perhaps, put these grids into perspective. A dowsing friend in England once had a group of people in his house and they were expecting the arrival of aGerman dowser.

As an exercise, they dowsed to see if they could find either the Curry or Hartmanngrids. They failed, as a group, to do this. However, when the German lady arrived, theyfound that, within 15 minutes, the grid was easily accessible to them.

Asking her to leave for a while and walk around the block, they dowsed the grid as itfaded. In other words, the German dowser had brought the idea of grids with her andmade them available to the others. in some fashion.

Now we are not saying that that one incident is decisive proof of cultural conditioning, but it certainly raises some interesting speculation which you should keep in mind asyou go on your discovery of the earth grids.

The Curry Grid or Net

Dr. Manfred Curry is credited with the discovery of this global grid, although a Dr. Wittmann was his codiscoverer.

A Swiss Physician, Curry found that there was a grid aligned northwestsoutheast, thelines of which are between 15 to 20 feet apart. The lines of the grid are, apparently, alternately positive and negative in character.

Some researchers state that the grid is 2.75 meters (about 9 feet) apart with wavelengths of approximately 0.4 meters(about 18 inches). Medically significantlines are thought to be found 50 meters(47 yards) apart.

Grid Origins

It is believed by some that this grid isterrestrial in origin and is in some wayrelated to the core magma radiations ofthe earth, its rotation and magnetic field. The lines reach hundreds of feet into theair yet may only be an inch wide. Theintersection of the lines is where the effects are felt most.

There are some symptoms which havebeen associated with this grid. They are:headaches, depression, sleep disturbances, tendency to inflammation, rheumatic diseases, cancer and waking at about 2 am.

The grid energy (either positive or negative) can intersect with the Hartmann grid andwith the energy of underground water.

However, according to one researcher, the Curry grid is becoming much weaker and ismore difficult to find now in most places on earth, although it can still be found in Malaysia and Singapore.

Page 30: Space Clearing

The Hartmann Net or Grid

This was the second of the global grids to be discovered. According to Dr. Ernst Hartmann, the grid is aligned northsouth, eastwest, making it lie across the Curry Grid orNet. The active areas are only 21 cm across, with neutral areas in between them. Thelines themselves are about 2 meters apart (NS) and 2.5 meters (EW).

Grid Dimensions

It is interesting to note that some researchers think that the activearea of the line is only one inch (2.5 centimeters). Further, they statethat the width of the whole line is about 8 inches.

The lines are also supposed to vary in separation according to the distance from theequator. Thus, closer to the equator, they are about 17 feet apart, wider and much lessintense, but become more intense and about 12 feet apart as one moves away fromthe equator.

It is believed that the rock beneath the soil may add some contributing factors, although the Hartmann Net is also believed to be cosmic in origin and related to the twoVan Allen belts of high intensity particle radiations at 16,000 km and 24,000 km.

The link with the rocks might be borne out by the fact that dowsers have noted thatearthquakes tend to distort the grid and it takes about 30 minutes to reform afterwards.

Phase Changes

Some researchers state that the net is also polarized alternately (like the CurryGrid or Net) but, unlike the Curry Grid, has phase changes every 6 hours at sunrise, noon, sunset and midnight; the intensity of the radiation varies with the fullmoon and changing weather fronts.

EMF’s

ElectroMagnetic Fields

The World Health Organization (WHO) is engaged in a longterm study of Electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Research so far has suggested a link between exposure to EMFsand a broad range of health effects including cancer, changes in behavior, memory loss,Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

These fields are widely accepted as being in existence. The precise nature of any danger from them is, as you would expect, open to debate.

What is not under debate, however, is the prevalence of such fields in our daily lives.Searching for EMF on the web will quickly provide you with much information aboutthem from various organizations. These include the National Institute for OccupationalSafety and Health (NIOSH), and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS). There are also several large databases of reports and publications concerning EMF and their effects on humans as well as stores offering all sorts ofprotective garments and detection devices.

Types of EMF

Electromagnetic radiation comes in a wide variety of frequencies, all of which, exceptvisible light, are invisible to the human eye.

Besides natural sources, such as the earth’s magnetic field and the electricity associated with thunderstorms, there are EMFs generated by humanmade sources: Xrays, forexample, employed to diagnose a broken limb after a sport accident.

The electricity that comes out of every power socket has associated low frequencyelectromagnetic fields. Various kinds of higher frequency radio waves are used totransmit information – whether via TV antennas, radio stations or mobile phone bases. Household electrical appliances and computers all generate EMFs to one degreeor another, although it is generally considered that being at a distance of about 30cm is sufficient to reduce any risks.

Page 32: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 32

The key point to note is that the level of exposure to such fields has never been higherin history. The combination of effects, taken together with other forms of noxious ordetrimental energies, may well help to trigger illnesses in people.

The next page has a detailed diagram of the whole emf spectrum, showing you whattypes of wavelengths are associated with what types of sources as well as the size ofthe waves being emitted.

Page 33: Space Clearing

Check and avoid them

If such fields are of a concern to you, or you feel that they may be instrumental to yourlevel of health and wellbeing, you should find out their influence on you by dowsing.

If you lack confidence in your ability and cannot find a dowser to help, you could useany of the available meters to check the field strengths around you.

However, as the precise tolerance levels are unclear, simply detecting the EMF's willbe insufficient. On the whole it is easier and quicker to dowse which areas are bad foryou. Following up with meters can then help to establish what is a safe level for you!

Generally speaking, you should avoid having electrical objects close toyou, especially when you sleep.

So remove the digital clock radio from your bedside, ensure the TV set inthe bedroom (if it is absolutely necessary to have one there), is well awayfrom your bed and unplugged at night, otherwise power still is being fed toit and the field might well affect you.

If you sit at a computer all day, you would be wise to employ one of themany available methods of neutralizing the EMF present. (The website at

www.professionalhouseclearing.com/harmonizers.html has several proven methodsof dealing with such issues.

You should take the time to look carefully at your environment and see how many electrical items remain powered up (even when off) and which are close to you for someportion of the day. As an experiment, try to do without some of the appliances for aperiod of a few days and see if you can notice the difference.

Sick Buildings

Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) is a term sometimes used for buildings in which there isa higher than normal incidence of illness or absenteeism (if it is a workplace).

The symptoms are such that they could be confused with noxious energies. For example, you only feel ill whenever you are at work, or you recover your vitality only whenon holiday. These, and similar effects, could also be attributable to SBS, and it is forthat reason that this information has been included. However, modern building techniques coupled with the knowledge acquired from the initial discoveries thirty years agohas tended to minimize this as a cause of illness.

SBS first came to notice as a problem during the 1970s. Since that time much workhas been done on this and some of the results are outlined below. There were apparently headaches and allergiclike reactions to what were, at the time, unspecified stimuli. Some of the reactions included lethargy, fatigue, headache, dizziness, nausea, irritation of mucous membranes, eye and/or nasopharyngeal irritation, and sensitivityto odors.

There have been found to be four major contributory factors to SBS:

• Major combustion pollutants

Often from defective or inappropriate heating devices which can produce nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide, both of which are irritants.

• Biological air pollutants

Dander, molds, dust mites and other biologicals are found everywhere. The first three are carried by both animals and people.Heating, cooling and ventilation systems all contribute to airbornebiologicals. These pollutants can cause infections, hypersensitivityand toxicosis.

• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

These are emitted as gases from certain solids and liquids. These include formaldehyde, pesticides, solvents, cleaning agents, benzene, and perchloroethylene. Indoorlevels of some VOCs can be up to ten times greater than outdoors. Potential sourcesof VOCs include

Page 36: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 36

scents and hair sprays, household products such as finishes, rug and oven cleaners, paints, thinners, dry cleaning fluids, some copiers and printers, some glues and adhesives, markers, photo solutions.

One of the major irritants in 'sick building syndrome' is formaldehyde. Formaldehyde isfound in resins in finishes, in plywood, paneling, fiberboard and particle board, and insome of the backings and adhesives for carpets as well as in insulation in older buildings. New installations, carpet, wall coverings, paint, or construction can all heightenproblems.

• Heavy metals

Although these are less likely to be a problem due to legislation removing lead andmercury from paints, casual inhalation is more likely to occur in older, deterioratinghousing or in work on older buildings.

So, some buildings, because of their construction or their contents, can make life unpleasant for their inhabitants. Unless you are sure of the construction materials, it isalways worth checking this as well.

In recent years there has been a general increase in the overall toxic levels found inhomes. This is due to the harsh chemicals widely used in household cleaning products. There is a definite link to allergies and illnesses, especially amongst young children. We strongly urge you to only use cleaning and personal care products that are earthfriendly and more natural. Energy as a Human Creation

In this chapter will look at some human causes or connections with negative or noxiousenergies. Briefly, they are stress, psychic attack or curses, trauma, the past, ghosts, objects and leylines and underground water.

Introduction

The rational, scientific approach to noxious energies can be appealing in many ways, but it is also restrictive. It has difficulty explaining some observed phenomena.

Some people who have had their space cleared will discover that further clearings arealmost always required at a later time. Strangely enough, the negative energies willoften seem to come back and occupy the exact same places from which they wereoriginally banished.

To those with a less intuitive viewpoint, this might be interpreted as poor performanceon the part of the professional space clearer. Otherwise, why would the energies return?

You might especially be dissatisfied with professional advice that said you must moveto another home to find a clear space, only to discover that in spite of doing that, youare still surrounded by detrimental energies.

But...as Modern Western Geomancers, we believe that humans are responsible forcreating their own environment. That means they bring in both the positive and thenegative energies that are around them through their own intent and expectations. Inmost cases, this is NOT conscious, but the results are just as if they were.

In other words...YOU are responsible for the space you live in! You probably realizeyou are responsible for cleaning up after yourself physically, but you are also responsible for clearing up after your energetic waste products, negative thoughts and feelings.

Let’s say that Brian sits around all day, thinking depressing things, eating junk food andnever seeing anything to be happy about...well, guess what? His space is going to reflect how he feels and no matter how many clearings it has, it won’t hold, because he’dbe putting that depressive energy back in.

Page 38: Space Clearing

So let’s have a look at some of the sorts of energies which can affect your environment.

Stress

The most common way detrimental energies manifest is through the stress of everydayliving.

Change can be very stressful to humans, who tend to regard it with fear and suspicion.Death, divorce, job loss, moving to a new home, beginning a new project or job andmarriage are just a few of the major personal changes people face in life.

Add concerns about the economy and the threatof war or terrorist attack and the stress level rises. Then there are the myriad everyday challenges, such as commuting to work, traffic hassles, raising children and finding time to relax.

When people become stressed out, they tend tothink negative, fearful thoughts.

The universe will send us, in a nonjudgmentalway, whatever it is that we expect and believe in. In this sense, like attracts like.

Thus it is critical to guard your thoughts and desires and avoid fearbased thinking if

you wish to avoid detrimental energy.

Much negative and noxious energy comes into our living space as a result of the everyday fears, worries and anxieties we give energy to by thinking of them. The mediacontributes to fear, whether intentionally or not. Disconnecting from the media will lessen that negative input.

For most people, it is a tremendous challenge to change from a fearbased outlook to amore positive one. That means negative energies will continue to manifest in their environment as a result of their viewpoint.

This will necessitate repeated clearing of the environment, with more frequent clearings when stress is greatest.

Page 39: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 39

In such situations, working on and with the individuals in that environment may provefar more useful. By helping to eliminate the reasons for negative thinking, or by alteringnegative behavior, the environment will remain clearer for much longer.

As Modern Western Geomancers, we can choose from a wide variety of modalities. Not having to rely on one method is one of our greatest strengths.

Curses

Another human source of noxious energies that is thoughtbased is the energy of illwishes or psychic attack. This occurs when other people have negative thoughts or intentions towards us.

Because we are all connected at an energetic level, ill wishes of others can direct detrimental energy into our lives.

Most of us have experienced this in some form, though we might not have called it psychic attack. You may have an exspouse who hates you, or a coworker who is jealousof you.

Strong emotions directed towards someone can either help or harm them. Prayer is anexample of helpful energy, while psychic attack is negative.

Most of us have people in our lives who challenge us with their negativity towards us.This negativity can be a source of detrimental energy in our environment.

Furthermore, you may have observed that associating closely with someone who isunder stress or psychic attack can negatively affect you. You leave them feeling tiredor even unwell. Once again, this is because we are all connected energetically, and, unless something protective is done, we are open to these unwanted energetic exchanges.

On rare occasions, the negative energy from an outside person is being directed consciously, as in a case where someone wishes another would die or have some form ofharm befall them. When this is true, it can be called a curse. Curses are very powerfulforms of negative energy, and they can last long after the originator is dead.

Curses have been reported all over the world, from Australia to Scotland, from Italy toRussia and all places in between. We often encounter them in our work.

Page 41: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 41

Trauma

Negative energies can last a long time, especially if they occurred in conjunction with ahighly traumatic event.

Even people who do not consider themselves psychicwill comment on how different they feel somewherelike the battlefield at Gettysburg or the death camp atAuschwitz.

Death is often associated with negative energies thathave great staying power.

Most people are brought up believing that cemeteriesare not a good place to hang out. There is a reasonfor this!

Hospitals are likewise not a very healthy place to be, energetically speaking, and if youundergo general anesthesia, you may be particularly vulnerable to picking up negativeenergies of various types.

Another place that isn't energetically healthful is a bar. The heavy use of alcohol andother drugs is associated with negative energies, and so a bar can be a poor place tospend much time unless your own energy is very strong.

Cemeteries, hospitals and bars are just a few of the more obvious locations that couldbenefit from regular space clearings.

Trauma can be shortlived and not have a great effect upon people, but traumatic incidents can have a very longlasting residual effect. An example of the former is whenyou enter a room where there has just been an argument. It is over, but you can stillfeel the atmosphere there. That atmosphere can dissipate quite quickly, but other'atmospheres' such as a place of murder can still be felt many years later.

Even if you avoid such places, you need to be aware of lingering energies present inyour workplace or home.

If you are not the first person to occupy your home or work station, then the energies ofthe former occupant are certainly still present. Give yourself a break and get rid ofthem for a clean start.

When moving to a new place, you would be wise to get the house or apartment clearedBEFORE you move in. Sometimes more than one clearing is needed. Your desk orcubicle at work will also benefit from clearing.

This is a simple precaution to take against the residue of energies which could otherwise affect you negatively.

We are able to offer specific clearings for hospital rooms to aid the healing process. Please contact us via www.professionalhouseclearing.com.

The Past

Sometimes the detrimental energies are connected with an historical event in the distant past that you may not be aware of. A professional space clearer will often be ableto detect such sources of negative energy and clear them.

For example, we purchased a home in Arizona from a family who had lived there for 15years. When we moved into it, the house felt quite sad to us. There were many plumbing leaks and waterrelated issues.

We did numerous clearings and ceremonies to relieve the negativity, and we spenttime and money repairing plumbing and other things around the house to show our intent to make it whole again.

In spite of our efforts, negative energies persisted, in addition to a feeling that the placewas largely invisible to others.

One day Maggie dowsed some details about the property and discovered that hundreds of years ago, a Native American shaman had placed an energy of intent on thisarea that basically said it should not be changed.

That explained the two empty lots adjacent to our home, and the fact that the previousowners of our home had largely left the halfacre lot unchanged for 15 years.

Through dowsing, Maggie determined it would be necessary to get a Native Americanto perform a ceremony to totally clear this intent. A ceremony was arranged and performed, and indeed the energy shifted afterwards.

We began to get many compliments on how wonderful our place felt. Interestingly, thetwo empty lots sold and new houses were built. Neighbors on two sides of us developed and improved their properties in a number of ways. We took this as a sign thatthe energy had been shifted.

People don't generally want to live somewhere a murder has taken place, but death ofall kinds can have negativity attached, and it isn't always possible to know the complete history of a location. When you have a professional do a space clearing, suchenergies will reveal themselves and then may be cleared. A good example is thehouse we cleared in the UK which sold two weeks after we cleared it.

Page 44: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 44

Ghosts

House clearers are sometimes called 'ghostbusters' because they are able to clearspirits or discarnate entities from a location, in addition to clearing negative energies.

Depending on your belief system, you may agree that spirits can be trapped in theearth plane, even causing various types of mischief or harm to those of us still alive, whether intentionally or not.

It seems that not all human and animal spirits are able to move on after death, eitherfrom confusion associated with the death itself or from fear of punishment in the afterlife.

In such cases then it seems possible that discarnate entities may contribute their energy to a location. Because that energy is most often confused, afraid or worried, it canbe detrimental to humans and animals living or working there.

Most of the time, such discarnates can easily be cleared and removed by a professional.

It is wise to ask whether all the discarnates that are usually in residence are present atthe time of the clearing, since some appear to have foreknowledge of the intent to clearthe space, and go away for a time to avoid being removed, only to return after theclearing is done.

While most discarnates we have encountered add a negative energy to the livingspace, there are occasions when a spirit has chosen to stay in a location to help theinhabitants. If this is the case, there is no need to clear that particular spirit, and indeed, if your intent is only to clear detrimental energies, you will not remove helpful entities. If necessary, reread the earlier section on ghosts.

Page 45: Space Clearing

Objects

Less dramatic than "ghosts", but just as capable of being detrimental to residents, isthe negative energy that can become associated with an object.

If you have always found that you feel the atmosphere in antique and secondhandshops stifling, it may be that you are sensitive to this type of energy.

We often find when doing a clearing that a particular keepsake or antique has detrimental energy attached to it. Items that were handled by persons during periods ofgreat emotion or stress are often imprinted with the energy of those emotions, and thiscan be detrimental to subsequent owners.

It is possible to clear an object of this type of energy, rather than selling it or giving itaway.

In one house, we found that a particular piece of wall did not feel good at all. We triedto find anything on either side of it, but had no luck.

In desperation we turned to the owner and asked if she knew anything about this particular area of the wall which would help explain what we found.

After thinking a minute she told us that where we had found these strong energies waswhere a painter had been working. He was very angry as he had had a bad row withhis wife. She remembered it clearly as he was so different from his normal emotionalstate.

In other words, we were picking up the emotions of a man who had simply painted awall over two years before!

Now think of all the times you’ve been angry while holding an object!

"Ley Lines" and Underground Water

Other accepted forms of geopathic stress, such as ley lines and underground streamsof water, are usually regarded as something over which we have no control, being external to us and of earth origin.

However, it is worth considering that if we believe that we create our own environment, then that means everything in it, including geopathic stress. It is possible that thesetypes of energy, which frequently cover large areas, may be created by groups of people rather than by individuals.

Here, the term "ley line" is being used in the more commonly accepted way, as indicating a line or flow of energy (in this case detrimental) in the earth. For a fuller discussion, see page 18.

Regardless of how they come about, it is possible to transform these sources of detrimental energy in your living space without changing them over their entire course.

If the professional who clears your space discovers that a large portion of the currentsituation is caused by your own or others' negative emotional energies, then anothertype of treatment may be required to help keep your space clear over an extended period of time.

That treatment should address the negative energies you are holding that are attracting the detrimental energy to you. We offer a variety of techniques that are helpful forremoving negatively charged emotions and energies that attract undesirable events inour lives. Feeling Bad

What does it feel like to be in an area of noxious or detrimental energy (often knownGeopathic Stress or GS)?

This apparently simple question does not have a simple answer.

The reason for this is that each person is different and each person will experience theeffects of noxious energy in a slightly different way. After all, if there was a limited set ofeasily definable symptoms, it is likely that the established medical profession wouldhave dealt with the problem of noxious energy some time ago.

No one definition

All that can be said with certainty is that, at the lower limits of experiencing such energy, there is awareness that something is not right.

At the other end of the scale there can be significant illhealth, even death.

In between there is a large area where such energy appears to act as a block to anytype of therapy and prevents people from recovering fully from any treatable condition.

Therefore, if you have seen many specialists and tried many different treatments, butnone of them worked fully, then it is highly likely that you are suffering from the effects ofnoxious energy. The reason for this is, perhaps, due to the body's weak electrical fieldbeing disrupted by the environmental factors.

Children and animals will often exhibit radical behavior changes or misbehavior as aresult of noxious environmental energies.

It is perhaps easier to list those symptoms which have been alleviated with spaceclearing of various types in order that the range and complexity of them might be moreclearly seen.

A feeling of being run down and exhausted

Feeling cold

Fatigue in the mornings

Other indicators

You might feel fine when not in the home, but have anxiety whenever you return to it.

Or, it might be that you have developed symptoms only since moving to a new housewhich are, otherwise, unexplainable. Your neighbors might also be ill.

The previous occupants of the house might have suffered continual illness or disease(or had a run of unexplainable bad luck).

Other indicators can include:

Hedges might have gaps in them, indicating a line of energy running through.

Weeds growing in one area no matter what you do.

Cracks in walls, floors, driveways and patios which might indicate geological faultlines below.

Trees which have grown in a twisted fashion, looking as if they are trying to getaway or avoid an area, or trees with cancerous growths on them.

Page 49: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 49

You might have a line of ants’ nests (or be plagued with ants), or have more thanthe normal wasps and bees (all of which are attracted to noxious energy areas).

Some animals will do their best to avoid such areas, refusing to sleep in them(dogs, pigs and horses, for example). But be aware that some plants and animals(cats in particular) are not perturbed at all by such areas.

The full list of plants and animals showing effects of energies is long. A partial list canbe found in the next chapter.

Be aware of your own sensations

The key point to note in all this is that it is your own reaction to the environment whichis vital. Be aware of how you feel and any changes to you. Become more aware ofyour own sensations, emotions and reactions, as well as your perceived level of health.

If you find that you cannot explain your symptoms using any traditional model of health, then you should certainly consider having your environment checked for geopathicstress and detrimental energies.

The Detection of Noxious Energies

If you suspect that your environment may be adversely affecting you, then you are already alert to it, possibly opening up your senses more widely.

Detection

Detection relies upon you being very aware of yourself.

Listen to your body. It may be that you notice that you become irritable whenever youcome home, or that you can only sleep well and without awakening in a panic whenyou are away from home.

There could be a number of small ailments that you or family members have been suffering from ever since you moved into the house. (If you want to check up on illnesseswhich have been associated with this problem, look back at page 49)

Children will often be scared of areas with noxious energy.

Similarly, when other theories have failed, then not being able to relax at home, or having tired legs or headaches when sitting or simply being in certain areas can be symptoms of noxious energies.

Often it is not as definite as that. It can be a feeling of general malaise or something“not being quite right”, or the desire to "get out of the house" frequently.

Trust yourself.

A checklist which you can use to help in assessing your space can be viewed in

Appendix B of this document.

Self Awareness

Perhaps you have found out a bit of the history of your home.

If the previous several owners had divorces or died from cancer or had similar misfortunes, your home needs a clearing.

Look inside yourself and, without fear of disaster or overdue concern, see how you feelabout your home. Be honest. Be aware of your own reactions, sensations and feelings.

Is there a room or a spot in the home where you don't like to go? Do people tend toavoid one area?

Just be alert to your surroundings. However, do not fall wholeheartedly for this theoryjust because you like it.

Be as discerning as possible.

Dowsing

If you are able to dowse, then use that method to confirm and, possibly, identify noxious energies.

The section on dowsing will help to guide you through the process. (If you are unableto dowse, then consider buying our Dowsing Course which teaches you to this greatskill. Visit our website (www.professionalhouseclearing.com) for details and to buy it.

Other Indications

If you are still not sure, then look elsewhere for confirmation. If you have pets, then seehow they behave. Cats tend to like areas where humans find discomfort from prolonged exposure (but remember that they also like warmth and sunny spots as well!).

Dogs tend to react in much the same way as humans do to noxious energies, so theycan be very helpful in confirming your suspicions.

Similarly, plants react to such influences. Do some of your houseplants just wilt and diein one spot but thrive elsewhere? If you have trees outside, observe them to see if they

Page 52: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 52

have a look as though they want to twist away from where they are. Do some plantsthrive in a neighbor’s yard but refuse to grow in yours?

It has long been observed that the natural world is well aware of energies within theearth and that reactions to them vary. Nostradamus said as much and, earlier, Plutarch was just as observant.

What follows is merely an introduction to how the natural world reacts to such energies. It is important that you make your own observations and assessments.

Some organisms thrive in energies that are detrimental to humans, while others preferwhat we would consider positive energies.

Energies which are harmful to humans affect other species as follows:

• Asparagus, mushrooms, aralia, mistletoe and medicinal herbs all thrive in such areas.

• Trees including oak, fir, plum, cherry and elderberry grow well.

• Cats, ants, wild bees (who will produce more honey), wasps, beetles, termites andparasites are attracted to them, as are bacteria and viruses.

• Potatoes and other vegetables will spoil when stored in cellars exposed to such energies, and jams and jellies will start molding and will not mature. Compost will decompose faster.

• When an aquarium stands in an area of energy detrimental to humans, the fish arelikely to eat their own eggs.

Energies which are beneficial to humans will affect the following organisms asdescribed:

• Roses, sunflowers, lilies, begonias, azaleas, cactus, privet hedges, red and black currant bushes, cucumbers, celery, onions, and maize all do well.

Page 53: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 53

• Trees such as apple, peach, ash, linden, lilac, and the nutbearing species, whengrown in this type of energy, will tend to twist, lean and form burls or lumps on trunksand generally have stunted growth.

• Dogs, horses, sheep, pigs, mice, chickens and birds all thrive in areas of "positiveenergy" for humans.

These lists cannot be considered definitive in any way. However, they can be used asa general guide to help you observe what may be happening around you.

As with any such listings, use your own judgment and, if possible, have a secondarymethod to use as confirmation, whether that is dowsing or your own experience andsensations.

Dowsing for Noxious Energies

Dowsing is an old technique which uses something akin to intuition. It is also an abilitywhich is inherent in all humans but which, for a variety of reasons, has been devalued.

There is a slow rekindling of interest in it and the number of dowsing societies is growing. Although this course cannot delve deeply into the art of dowsing, we offer a distance learning course that takes you through all the aspects of dowsing. You can findout more about it here.

You can also join a society and attend meetings, or simply find more about it on theInternet. (A good site is this one.) Whatever you decide to do, you will find that youhave probably already been dowsing without being fully aware of it!

Dowsing Tools

Dowsing traditionally uses tools which act as indicators of a response. These toolsshould not be considered as being something special in themselves. Think of them justlike a gage. A gage can show a variety of things; fuel levels, air pressure, speed, temperature. You have to know what the gage is reading in order to understand what itsays. In the same way, you have to know what it is you are finding or responding to inorder for the tool’s reactions to make sense.

The tools which are used most frequently in dowsing are Lrods and pendulums. TheYrod is less frequently used now, and there are also other tools available such as aurameters and bobbers.

Basic Dowsing Tips

Whichever tool is used, it is important that you are able to obtain a basic YES and NOresponse from it. Each section will introduce you to the main techniques for doing this. However, common to all tools and techniques is the state of mind you have when youdowse. As far as you can, you want to be mentally clear and without any pressing worries or emotions present. Allowing concerns to enter your mind can make it difficult tofocus on what you want to do.

Page 55: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 55

Paradoxically, concentrating too much on what you want to do can be just as much ofa problem.

If you really want to find something and you concentrate really hard on finding it,chances are, you will find it, even if its not there!

If that sounds unlikely and too unreal, you can ignore it (or not) or try dowsing out inyour back yard for gold or treasure and really know its out there! Your dowsing tool willshow you what you want. Just don't book that dream vacation yet. Dig to find out whatyou thought you found. (If you do find treasure, by the way, good luck to you!)

So, try to be relaxed mentally and not want to find anything. What you really want to dois find out if anything is there or not.

Keep your mind focused on finding what, if anything, is detrimental to your health andwellbeing. If you find something, then the next thing you can ask is HOW detrimentalis it? If it's only very small, then you might consider not doing very much about it.

Therefore, the most important part of dowsing is what goes on in your head and notwhat the tool does. It just takes practice.

LRods

These are socalled from their shape. The shorter length is held in the hand, and thelonger length is allowed to move.

Types of rods

They can be made easily from wire coathangers. Some Lrods are very fancy and arecollapsible like car antennas. Others are made of brass or chrome or steel. Like anything else in dowsing, you find (or make) the ones which feel best for you. Fashion anddowsing don't seem to be very closely connected!

Using them

When using them, they are generally held at an angle slightly below the horizontal. This allows them to move easily. Normally, they will cross when you have found whatyou are looking for, or they will point to the area or place you want to find.

Getting a response

Lrods are probably the most suitable of the tools for working outside or in large areas. With the rods held at the correct angle and with your mind clear of preconceptions, findout how they will react or show a YES response. Ask a question which can only haveone definite answer. Was I born at the North Pole? or Have I just eaten a banana? areexamples of the sort of question to use. Generally, a YES will be when they cross.Moving apart would signify a NO. However, some people’s Lrods open up and swingaway from each other for a YES and cross for a NO. You need to experiment to findout which is which for you.

Two methods

Lrods can be used in two ways. Firstly, they can be used to pinpoint locations. Youwalk along, asking for an indication when you are over a buried pipe, a coin or whatever the object of your search is. The reaction shows you the area. If you want to be alittle more precise in your location, then ask for the indication when the toe of your leadfoot is over the area. That makes it more accurate, if accuracy is vital.

Page 57: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 57

The second use for a single Lrod is to point you in a direction. For example, you mightask to be shown the nearest source of detrimental energy presently acting upon you.The Lrod will turn to a direction and you simply follow the direction it points in. Whenyou are there, the rod turns showing you the YES response. Alternatively, you mightuse the rods to show the course of something; a band of energy, the direction a streamtakes and so on.

Both of these techniques can be very useful for locating areas of noxious energy. Yousimply have to keep clearly focused in your mind what you want to find.

On the left, cut the coat hanger at the placesmarked with tape, bend the wire until it is at rightangles. Take a plastic straw and slip the shorterlength of wire into it to act as a handle. Bend thebottom of the wire to stop the handle falling off.Voilá!

To the right is a collection of Lrods. The toppair are collapsible, extendable rods made ofchrome. The middle pair are made of steeland the bottom pair are of brass with coppersleeves as handles.

Pendulums

The pendulum is probably the most versatile of all dowsing tools.

Different people have different opinions about pendulums. Some prefer their pendulums to be a certain shape or of a particular material whilst others say that it doesn'tmatter what you use, even a metal nut on a piece of dental floss will do.

It is up to you to decide which viewpoint you favor. You will usually be drawn to a particular pendulum, although the choice might change over time.

How to use the pendulum

When using a pendulum, you need to be able to know which motion signifies YES andwhich signifies NO. That way, you can ask questions concerning the environment andhave understandable responses.

As in all dowsing work, you should focus clearly on the question and clear yourself ofpreconceived ideas or wishes.

To find out your own responses, have the pendulum swinging easily in a circle. Ask aquestion of it to which the answer can only be EITHER yes or no, such as, Is todayTuesday?, or Do I smoke cigarettes?

Watch what your pendulum does. If you are unsure of its response, simply ask that yoube shown what your YES looks like. You can go through the same processes for theNO response.

Some other considerations

A pendulum is less easy to use if you walk or move about when dowsing. A light pendulum will be difficult to read in breezy conditions.

However, it can also be used as a direction finder. You simply ask if the area you areinterested in is in front of you. On getting a YES, simply ask the pendulum to swing inthe direction you need to go.

This is a very simple and brief introduction to the use of a pendulum. There is a greatdeal more to using a pendulum than can be outlined here. You would be well advisedto take a course or learn to dowse using the distance learning course available fromthe Professional House Clearing website.

Other Dowsing Tools

This chapter only outlines some of the other dowsing tools available for use. To learnhow to use them, in particular, how to hold and use the Yrod, we strongly suggest youpurchase our Dowsing Course or find some professional help.

Y Rods

There are other tools available for you to try. Chief amongst them is the Yrod. This is,perhaps, the best known traditional dowsing tool. It used to be cut from a branch of awillow tree and used for only a few days before it dried and cracked. There are still afew dowsers who do this. Nowadays most Yrods are made of plastic or nylon tubingand last longer.

Using them takes care

Holding these in the correct attitude can take some practice, as they should be held sothat they are under tension. This means that they can flip up suddenly and maybe evenhit you in the face!

As with the other dowsing tools, they react to whatever you have asked for in yourmind. As they flip either up or down, you need to make sure you know which way isYES and which way is NO for you. See the sections on pendulums or Lrods if you donot know how to do this.

Aurameters and Bobbers

Aurameters and bobbers are basically the same thing. They consist of a length of(usually) wire which is attached to a plain handle. Bobbers tend to be straighter andhave a small weight at the tip. Aurameters usually have coils of varying numbersroughly midway along the wire. In either case, they are used to point at a place or areaand show a reaction in some fashion.

For some people, this might be a circular motion at the tip, for others it might be an upanddown or sidetoside motion. Again, if you are going to be using either of thesetools, you need to know how it will react for you if it is showing something positive.Again, refer to the pendulum or Lrod page for further information on this aspect.

Detection Techniques

Protect Yourself

If you are going to attempt to detect noxious energies, then you are already open to theidea that such energies exist and that they can, in some form or other, be harmful toyou.

That being so, you will be well advised to perform some form of protection aroundyourself whenever you decide to undertake such work.

In addition, you are strongly advised to make sure that you are clear of any remnantsof noxious or detrimental energy when you have finished.

To ignore yourself and the impact any such work can have upon you is irresponsible.

We find it useful to dowse if we need protection before a clearing, and also, to dowseto make sure our protection is adequate for that job.

If you are unclear or unsure as to how you should go about such protection or clearing, you should seriously consider whether or not youshould engage in this activity. If there is doubt, then contact a professional who is experienced in this work.

Get Permission

Do not engage in this activity if you do not have the permission of those who normallyinhabit the space you are clearing.

This means that you can go ahead and check and clear your own space, but not decide to make it better for your next door neighbors or where you work, unless you havespecifically been given permission to do so.

Warning!

Please take the time to read and follow these opening paragraphs. They may well prove helpful to you as you start out!

Page 61: Space Clearing

To do otherwise is irresponsible and, on a very basic level, rude and discourteous. Ifyou have some metaphysical background, you will also appreciate that there are otherfactors at work in such situations and that respect of other people and their rights andchoices is of paramount importance.

In general, any area you live or work is appropriate for you to clear. Outside of that, only clear where you have been asked by the owner to clear.

Assess the Situation

As you dowse for noxious energies, you will find it useful to grade the detrimental energy based on its effects.

We use a +10 to 10 scale for determining the Level in Effects of any energy. 0 is neutral. Any + value is beneficial, and a number is harmful. The larger the number, thestronger the effect. An energy that has a 2 effect on you is not as vital to clear as onewhich has a 10 effect on you.

Bear in mind that not all people and animals are affected the same by a given energy.(See the earlier lists.)

Depending on the individuals' personal resonant energies, genetics, health and otherfactors, different reactions can be observed to the same energy. Therefore it is sometimes advisable to dowse an area with a particular person or animal in mind, rather thanjust looking for 'bad' energy in general otherwise you will be led to discover things whichare not important or have little or no effect.

Investigate

When you dowse an area for noxious energies, you may want to classify the types ofenergy you find.

There are many systems for doing this. In general, there are natural energies, manmade energies, nonhuman and psychic/spirit energies. Within each category, thereare many possible types of energy.

It is not always necessary to determine the exact type of energy in order to clear it. Ifyou are interested in learning more about the complexities of space clearing, we adviseyou to take an advanced course in this interesting field.

Having some idea as to the origin or cause of what you are detecting can be helpfulwhen it comes to deciding a method to use to clear it. It also helps you to become bet

Page 62: Space Clearing

ter at detection as you will be developing a framework to place your experiences within.

Dowsing

The techniques of dowsing for noxious energies will, obviously, depend upon the toolyou are using and the particular environment you are working in. Generally speaking, dowsing can be divided into actual "on site' work and dowsing at a distance (remotedowsing). The following pages help you with these two approaches.

Page 63: Space Clearing

Working On Site

Dowsing on site

There are two main approaches to dowsing noxious energies. The simplest to explainand understand is dowsing on the actual site of the supposed energies.

Assuming it is in your home, you can use your dowsing tool to explore and examineeach room or area for energies detrimental to your health. If you prefer, you can seekout any specifics, such as are described elsewhere in this course.

You might wish to do that on a regular basis anyway as a form of health check of yourenvironment.

How to check

What you are doing in such an examination is finding out where you get a reaction withyour tool.

Walk through the area currently under investigation and, with your intent clearly focused on finding energies which are detrimental to you now, notice where you get sucha dowsing reaction. It is important that you do not walk into the area with any preconceived notions as to what you might find. Try to be as open as possible to whatevermight be there. And that includes Nothing!

Where to check

You might find that a line of something flows through a room. It might be that there isonly a small area in which you get a reaction.

Check if such areas, flows or pools are in places where you habitually spend long periods of time. Such areas are your bed, the kitchen, the lounge (check your favoritechair!) and perhaps the home office, hobby area or the like.

To begin with, you might like to have a more visual reminder of what you have found. You can lay canes on the ground where you found a reaction. You can place tape orcolored pieces of paper for the same reason. Do not forget to check all areas, all floors.

Just because you found something along one wall downstairs does not mean that youwill find the same thing in the same place in the room above.

Page 64: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 64

Check major electrical appliances and how far out their fields can be detected. Spendmore time checking the bed as it it the place you are most vulnerable.

Check outside

You can also carry out this survey outdoors. If you find, for example, that you have aline of energy which appears to come in through an outside wall, go outside and see ifit exists there as well. While you are at it, check around your property, as far as you areable, to determine the extent, or in some cases, the origin of noxious or detrimentalenergies which are affecting you.

Make no assumptions

Do not assume that all lines flow continuously. Sometimes they split up into severaldifferent new lines. Sometimes they terminate (or start) from something like a whirlpoolor small spot and sweep outwards, often spiraling as they go.

When you have found as much as you can, then you need to check which is the mostdetrimental for you. Locate that, and determine HOW detrimental it is. Move to the second place and repeat the procedure and so on. (Of course, you can always begin byasking which is the most noxious and finding it, then going to the next one and so on.

Exposure is the Key

Remember that exposure is a critical element in determining how dangerous an energyis. A 10 energy in the far corner of your back yard isn’t as worrisome as a 9 energy inyour bed. Be very diligent in checking areas where you and your loved ones spend alot of their time.

Page 65: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 65

Remote Dowsing

This is slightly harder to explain (and for some people it is much harder to accept), butit is another method of working. Given the proviso of only working where you have permission, remote dowsing may not be of interest to you. Of course, you can use it tocheck on your holiday home or if you do not want to wander around your house butprefer to sit at a table and do the work instead.

A different skill set

The skills required for this are different from onsite dowsing. With remote dowsing, you are actively working on an area which is not your immediate environment. Dowsers do this a lot in searching for water, oil, lost pets and so on as well as professionalclearings across the country or across the globe. Distance is no object here.

Map dowsing

What you need to begin with is a map of the area or rooms you want to check. Thisdoes not have to be accurate or to scale. However, it should show relative sizes andpositions. Do not turn it into a work of art or spend hours laboring over it. It will workjust as well if it is rough in design. The relationship of areas to each other is the onlyaspect you need to have correct (the bedroom is to the north of the living room, or thekitchen is to the right of the dining room and so on).

The two approaches

When you are ready, clear your mind of preconceptions or hopes and wishes. You canuse Lrods for this sort of dowsing, although they might be a little unwieldy or too large(although you can buy very small rods now), but usually a lightweight pendulum is easier. Methods vary as to the steps to take in this. However, they boil down to two mainapproaches.

Page 66: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 66

One

The first approach is as follows. You check each room or area individually, asking ifdetrimental energies are present, and, if so, checking where they are. Mark the placeson the map.

If there are lines of energy through the place, use your pendulum to show you the direction they take. If there are pools or vortices, identify the area they cover.

Two

The second approach involves you tracing around the edges of the property, the houseor whatever it is with a pencil, while you hold your pendulum in a neutral swing with theother hand, and every time you get a dowsing reaction for detrimental energy, make amark.

Having completed the circuit, you then proceed to find where the energy goes aftercrossing the border. Again, use your pendulum or rods to show you the direction. Remember, it might not be in straight lines and it might end suddenly!

Having completed that portion of the work, you can then survey the individual areas forany other energies detrimental to you which do not show up as flows or lines. In otherwords, you carry out the first approach.

When working with either method, keep your mind open for any feelings or sensationsyou have.

They may well be acting as guides, directing your attention to areas, giving you somesort of validation perhaps. This work is not just about what the tool does. It is alsoabout what you feel.

You will find it immensely helpful to be aware of your own reactions when working. Thisis also why it is an excellent idea to protect yourself prior to doing this work. You canget affected in all sorts of ways and you need to be alert to the effect the environmentyou are working on has on you.

Refer to the next chapter to find out how to nullify any energies you have found.

Belief systems and Space Clearing

Clearing your space of detrimental energies and keeping it clear are complex and fascinating subjects. There are many schools of thought about dealing with negative energies.

One of the more traditional viewpoints is that of avoidance: Detect noxious energies sothat you can avoid them and their harmful effects. We know of professional houseclearers who will recommend that you move your bed or even move to another home ifthey detect noxious energies, because they do not believe in the possibility of transforming energies or even redirecting or neutralizing them.

These practitioners seem to be in a minority, and reflect a belief system that regardsnoxious energy as external to humans and not under their control.

This viewpoint is not only disempowering to humans, it feeds on fear and encourages aperception of separation rather than oneness with our environment. It is becoming lessand less prevalent.

However, as a side note, we have come across clients who thought that way and wanted us to locate any areas or lines of noxious energy in their home so that they couldplan accordingly. Although we mentioned that the lines could be moved, they were notdisposed to believe us and so we made recommendations as to the best placement offurniture, (particularly beds) for them.

A more common practice is to transform negative energy through a variety of techniques. Practitioners with this goal, like us, won't tell you to move to another location ifthey detect noxious energies. We won’t suggest you move your furniture around toavoid them. We employ one or more of the techniques listed below to neutralize theeffects of the detrimental energies or transform them to beneficial for you.

Usually only the energies in your living or working space will be dealt with. For example, we might peg a line or stop it with a crystal as it enters your property to protect youfrom harmful effects, but we won’t neutralize the whole line. This reflects the belief thatwe should only work on the living space of the person who asked for help, rather thanchanging the effects of the line of energy over its entire length.

We use methods in space clearing that acknowledge our belief that we can actuallytransform the energy in our environment, because we have created it or drawn it in for

Page 68: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 68

our own use. We employ one or more of the methods listed below, along with the intention of changing the energy from detrimental to beneficial for all the inhabitants.

Choosing a Method

If you have decided you are going to have a professional clear your space, then contact us. We perform space clearings both in person and long distance with excellentresults. And we have been doing so for years. See the the Professional House Clearing website for details and testimonials.

If you have decided you want to do the clearing yourself, then you need to choose themethod or methods that will be most effective. Dowsing is an excellent way of doingthis. You may also use your intuition or select a method you have heard of or witnessed and which you feel comfortable with.

Performing the Clearing

The clearing works through the intent of the practitioner. Whatever method youchoose, or is chosen by the professional, it is the energy of intent that makes it work.

The actual way you do the clearing will depend on the method chosen. It is also worthmentioning that in some cases, a clearing might take time to have an effect. For someof the worst cases we have worked on, the properties showed some initial improvement, but took two days for the full effect to take place.

Do Not Forget Yourself!

It is very easy to get 'carried away' with doing the work. However, it is VERY importantthat you do not forget to clear yourself afterwards. After all, if you have in some sensebeen paddling around in some mucky stuff, the odds are that some of it will stick toyou.

After every clearing you perform, take the time to clear yourself. How you do that is upto you and your beliefs, but the common methods are smudging yourself with some

Page 69: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 69

form of incense, using a visualization to clear your aura, or using a specific techniqueor ritual to ensure nothing which is harmful remains attached to you.

We take the time to protect ourselves before a job and to clear ourselves afterwards. Ifwe did not, then it is likely that we would be less efficient for the next client and, in theend, the cumulative effect of such detritus would have a marked effect upon our ownhealth. Then we would not be much use to anyone.

You are important and your health is important, so do not neglect it!

The following chapter deals with each of the following methods. You can read thechapter as a whole, or, if you know which method or methods you prefer, you can clickon the name and go directly to it.

Methods:

Symbols, Sound, Feng Shui, Pegging, Fragrance, Clearing Sprays, Objects,

Protection, Intention, Being Positive.

Symbols

Symbols are filled with a specific meaning. A red octagon by the roadside in Americameans 'Stop'. An arrow points us in the direction we should go. A cross is a religioussymbol overlaid with many cultural references, as is a star of David.

You can easily think of many more symbols which have specific meanings in your life. The provide us with information, directions, warnings and generally act as shorthandmethods of communication.

Symbols or patterns can be very powerful in more subtle ways as well. For example, the Nazi Swastika has many connotations for most people, the effects of which are notsimply translatable into a meaning or action. The communication, in this example, ismultilayered and much more complex than a road sign.

Page 70: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 70

The subtle influences of signs, symbols or patterns is reflected intales of magicians and their use of pentagrams for protection during spellcasting. It is also evident in the symbols used by secretsocieties which, to an initiate, speak of certain knowledge ormeanings hidden from the rest of the world.

We have found for ourselves that symbols or patterns can hold energy inherent to theirdesign and radiate it. More interestingly, they can also be imbued with an intent ormeaning that can be lasting.

Symbols may be used to help clear negative energy from a location and keep it clearfor a period of time.

The first modern use of patterns in this way that we have found was by an Australiandowser in the 1960's, although there is no reason to suppose that such a procedurewas not carried out earlier by other individuals. Indeed, there might well be examples inbuildings dating from much earlier in history which we simply have not recognized, because we cannot read those particular signs anymore, or they no longer have anymeaning for us.

In our practice, we often create symbols for clearing using our intuition. These patternsare unique to each job. They may have lines, curves or geometric shapes incorporatedinto them. Some have colors.

We meditate on the best design, and keep working on it until it feels done, then dowseto confirm it is the most effective pattern. (It sounds complicated, but in reality rarelytakes longer than a few moments to achieve. But we have had a lot of practice!)

When finished, the symbol may be drawn on an index card and mounted where it cando the most good. This is the usual method of use.

However, we have also had occasions when the symbol, for greatest effectiveness, was created out of natural or man made materials on the site. In these instances, rocksor logs and sometimes flowers were used to create a pattern in an appropriate area ofthe property.

Dowsing or intuition can determine the location. Symbols can also be imprinted ontorocks or other objects by using intent. This means, seeing the symbol clearly in yourmind first if all, then seeing it placed clearly on the rock or object and knowing why it isthere, what it is for.

Page 71: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 71

A symbol does NOT need to be in plain sight to work. It may be taped on the back of apicture or to the underside of a table. Many people prefer the symbol to be out of sight. It works just as well whether it is visible or not, as long as you place it with intent.

You may dowse to determine how long the symbol will be effective. A symbol is a goodmethod for work spaces as well as homes, since it is quite unobtrusive.

Sound

Sound is another ancient method for clearing negative energies from a place.

Toning, chanting and brass bells are some of the more commonly used methods ofgenerating sound for clearing purposes. When combined with intent, sound can clearout negative or stagnant energies in an environment.

You may note a change in the quality of the sound as the clearing occurs. Stagnant ornegative energy will dull the sound of your instrument. As the energy clears, the soundwill often become clearer.

You do not have to spend a great deal of money on a brass bell. If necessary, you canmake sounds without special tools. Clapping your hands together is effective and easyto do, but your hands will get tired if you are doing a large area. You may also beat acooking pot with a wooden spoon to generate clearing sounds. We prefer Tibetanbrass bells or something similar for the quality of sound.

Use whatever method you choose in all corners, behind doors and anywhere energymight stagnate, like blind nooks under staircases. Don t forget to check closets as well.

We often finish off by using the sound in the center of each room. As you are makingthe sound, remember to focus on your intent to clear the stagnant or negative energiesfrom the place. See them leaving, and light coming in to fill the room, or visualize it in away meaningful for you.

Feng Shui

There are many schools of thought concerning how to clear a space of harmful energies. Perhaps the most well known ancient remedy is the Oriental art of placement, feng shui.

Feng shui, a Chinese term that means wind and water, is an art that has been practiced for over three thousand years in China. Technically, feng shui does not clear aspace of detrimental energy. Rather, it prevents detrimental energy from accumulatingby encouraging the healthy and harmonious flow of chi, or life force, through the dwelling.

There are many types of feng shui being practiced in the world today. Some are quitecomplex and involve many calculations. Western feng shui is a simplified form of thepractice that suits the culture we live in.

Clear your clutter

Although it is beyond the scope of this course to discuss in detail the principles of fengshui, anyone who is interested in keeping their surroundings healthy will benefit fromstudying and applying the basic principles of feng shui in their home and workplace.

One of the easiest things you can do to clear stagnant and potentially harmful energyfrom your environment is to clear your clutter. Objects which are rarely, or never used, and things which clog up closets, drawers and walkways tend to create stagnant chi.

Take a good, unbiased look at your possessions, especially those in places that areout of sight, like closets, drawers, attics, basements, garages or utility rooms. Ruthlessly gather all the items you don't use regularly, even if you think you might need them inthe future. Sell them in a yard sale or donate them to charity.

Every item has a purpose

Every item has a purpose, and if that purpose is not being fulfilled, it can generate negative energy for you, the owner.

For example, think about unused exercise equipment in your garage and the guilt itgenerates every time you look at it. You tell yourself you will get back to using it soon. That equipment is doing you more harm than good in terms of guilt alone. Either get ridof it, or commit to using it!

We recommend you consult with a professional or read a good book on feng shui, such as The Western Guide to Feng Shui by Terah Kathryn Collins to find out moreabout this subject.

Pegging

Pegging is an old method of diverting or negating noxious energies in the earth. Indeed, it might well be much older than we think.

The idea behind this comparatively simple method is to find (usually by dowsing) theplace or places in the flows of energy where they can be diverted. At such a place, apeg is driven into the ground with the intent that it act to alter the flow of energy.

The peg can be metal, such as a 6 or 10 inch nail. It can also be a wooden peg madefrom dowel. In some cases, copper wire can be wound round the peg. This can enhance the efficacy of the peg. When working with a building, it is usual to find that several pegs are needed to act as conduits for the energy.

Hammering stakes into the ground was a normal method of working until the realization that intent alone could often work just as well. However, don't fall into the trap ofthinking that just because it is an old idea, there is no call for it anymore. That is nottrue.

Take care!

Obviously, great care should be taken when hammering pegs into the ground so thatunderground services are not punctured or destroyed! Also, you must dowse to seewhether such a treatment is beneficial, not just for the property you are currently working on, but also for any adjacent properties, or for the neighborhood in general.

Do not lose sight of the fact that you are a part of a larger picture!

For example, we used this technique on a house in the UK. The copperwound dowelpegs were carefully placed to divert a particularly nasty flow around the perimeter of aproperty, but then pegs were used to bring the flow back to its normal route outside theproperty. This was because we had no idea what effects the flow was having further'downstream' and so we left it as it was outside of the area we were working on.

A link with vampires?

The reason this idea may be a very old one is in the vampire legends. A vampire(signifying evil) can be killed by hammering a stake through the heart. Such tales maywell be folk memories of earlier times when such methods were used more widely tostop or alter a flow of noxious energy. Typically, those who were outlaws were usuallyburied at crossroads; a place where strong flows of energy met, thus allowing the twin

Page 76: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 76

flows to 'hold' them there and prevent them from wandering far. Ghost stories of hauntings at such places bear some evidence of the possible truth of this interpretation.

A larger version of this pegging is to be seen in stone monoliths. In an interesting experiment in Austria at the turn of this century, a particularly accident prone stretch ofhighway was improved by the careful placement of large stones. This apparently curedthe problem dramatically.

There are various instances of large stones (monoliths) being used to bring into harmony specific areas of the country. One such practitioner is Marko Pognacnik (whosebook is noted in the reference section). Of course, the really interesting thing is tospeculate on what the ancient stone circles, monoliths and monuments are really doingfor us?

Fragrances

Many cultures use fragrance to clear spaces of negative energies. Most of us are familiar with the sight of an altar boy swinging a censer during a Roman Catholic HighMass. Although incense is used less at Mass these days, historically it was used extensively in the practice of many religions.

Native Americans burn plants such as sage and sweetgrass to clear a space of negative energies or evil spirits. East Indians use incense of various types for religious purposes. Indians of Central America burn copal.

People today often use essential oils in aromatherapy diffusers to achieve many goals, among them, to clear a space of negativity. You can readily buy such things even inmajor department stores now, which shows the level of acceptance of the use and importance of fragrance nowadays.

Precautions

There are a few considerations around the use of fragrance. If a resident of a spacehas respiratory challenges or allergic reactions to smoke or fragrances like perfume, doNOT clear the space with fragrance.

Check to make sure everyone who inhabits the area has no problem with the aromayou intend to use.

Burning objects should NOT be left unattended for any period of time. Fire is potentiallydangerous and should be handled with great respect. If working outdoors, avoid usingfire on windy days, especially in times of drought.

Incense sticks and aromatherapy diffusers work well in small to moderatesized areas.Sage wands and incense burners that use granulated incense work well outdoors or invery large areas, but can be overpowering indoors.

How to use

Use the appropriate method in combination with your intent to clear the space of anydetrimental energies for best success.

In general, it is good to go into each room of the dwelling or business with the sage orincense. You may face in each of the four compass points in turn while intending toclear the space of detrimental energy.

Page 78: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 78

Alternatively, you can face each of the corners of the room, or go to each corner, andthen finish in the middle. If you are clearing a property outdoors, you may choose towalk the property line with your incense or sage wand, as you focus on your intent.

Your intent is key here. Burning something that smells nice is not enough. Burningsomething that smells nice while focusing on the purpose of that ritual, on 'seeing' thenegative energy being transformed, knowing that it is being cleared out; that is a different matter.

We once were clearing a 40 acre property remotely and it became obvious, as part ofthe clearing, that smudging the entire property was called for. When we tentatively outlined this procedure to the owner, we asked whether this was possible or not. She replied that it would be easy. She often rode her horse around the property and shewould just take some sage with her as she rode the boundary.

Frequently we find that, even if the process appears at first to be difficult, it soon becomes clear that it can be carried out with far greater ease than we could have imagined at the outset.

Distance use

The clearing can also be accomplished long distance by using a sketch or plot plan torepresent the property being cleared. In such a case, distribute the fragrance over themap or sketch while focusing on your intent.

Page 79: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 79

Sprays

Like fragrance, clearing sprays can be very helpful in removing negative and noxiousenergies from a place. Usually flower essences are used in the formulations of thesesprays. There are many different varieties of this type of clearing essence.

In the past, we custom mixed Australian Bush Flower Essences for our clients. Thisallowed for the individual needs of the person and place to be addressed.

Flower essence sprays are wonderful in areas where smoke would be undesirable forsome reason. They are unobtrusive and effective. If you work with many people in anoffice, warehouse or lab, then a clearing spray is a good way to keep your work areaclear without intruding on others.

Remember when you use the spray to combine it with your intention.

Such sprays are particularly useful for therapists who treat many different people in thesame room. The use of such a spray between sessions can be of tremendous benefit. There are many brands available on the market.

Again, as always, make sure that the particular essence or combination of essences isright for your needs. Do this by dowsing, intuition or, if possible, by asking the personwho made it up. Do not assume that what works for one person will work for you.

Objects

The different types

There are many different types of objects that are employed to clear noxious energiesfrom a space. Some are natural, like crystals, while others are man made, like coilsand disks.

Some objects inherently have energy that makes them useful for clearing or deflectingnegative energies. Certain crystals and gemstones have been used since ancienttimes for this purpose. (Many people are also aware of the healing energies of crystals.)

For those who are inclined towards the technological, many companies are makingobjects that have the ability to help clear a space. Some of these objects work becauseof the materials used, some because of the design, some because of both.

Most of the equipment you can buy deals only with a small range of the energies in theenvironment. Usually they concentrate on EMF’s (see below) and ignore other, equallynoxious forms of energy.

In order to address this problem, we have a range of fieldtested, handassembled harmonizers with models which will work in every size of environment. Simply go towww.professionalhouseclearing.com/harmonizers.html to choose your model.

All objects that clear space depend at least in part on the intent of the user. So if youchoose to use an object, remember to place it with the intention that it will clear ortransform the negative energies for as long as Divinely appropriate. You may usedowsing to determine the type of object that will work best for you.

One of the most common type of object you can buy is that which deals with EMF's inone form or another. It is impossible to have had experience with all of them. Some ofthem are very simple in design and construction, whilst others are more complex. However, as an observation, it seems to be selfcontradictory to have an item which useselectricity to block electrically generated EMF's. This is not a condemnation of suchappliances, but is meant as a 'heads up' as to the feasibility and applicability of someof these items.

Although not strictly speaking something you can buy, there are remedies which youcan make yourself and which do not conveniently fit any other category.

Page 81: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 81

One example of this type would be the cupandring marking which is chiseled intostone and which can effectively clear much noxious energy. The details of this can befound in the book Safe as Houses which is in the Resources section at the end of thisbook. It lies somewhere between a symbol and an object, but is definitely effective.

Be careful

One caveat here, however, is that the cost of the object does not necessarily reflectupon its efficacy. Some items for sale are very expensive indeed. Whilst the literaturemay not say so, the key element in all of them is that you have the intention that theywill work.

On the same basis, we also question the effectiveness of products made in a factoryby machines. While almost anything can be used to clear space, that does not meanthat massproductions will also work. A certain amount of effectiveness can be putdown to the placebo effect in popular products that are factorymade. People expectthem to work, so to some extent, they do.

Page 82: Space Clearing

Protection

Information on clearing noxious energies would be incomplete without some referenceto protection, although technically this is not about clearing the energies that exist, butpreventing them from coming back.

Protection is advisable in maintaining the space clearing, especially when it is discovered that negative energies are coming from other people, as in psychic attack.

The appropriate method of protection will vary from person to person and depends onbelief system. While some people are fond of using crystals for protection, others mightprefer sprays from flower essences.

Visualization that strengthens the aura of the person living there or that surrounds thelocation with protective energy may be practiced daily to enhance protection, since theaura is our main line of defense.

Whatever form of protection you are led to, it is important that it is something that youfeel engaged with. It is of little use, in the long run, to spend money on a device whichyou just have to switch on, if you do not spend some of your time and energy in puttingyour intent to work to help or maintain that. And that means that it is a regular involvement.

Page 83: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 83

Intent

Using intent to clear noxious energies is perhaps the hardest method for some peopleto believe, because nothing physical is used, and it just seems too easy.

Most of us mentally resist the idea that it could be easy to rid ourselves of somethinglike noxious energies. Partly, that is our left brain objecting to nonscientific modes.

Subconsciously, we also resist believing that it is easy to clear our space, because if itis easy to clear it, then that seems like a judgment against us for having put up with thedetrimental energy for so long.

Further, some people are uncomfortable with something that is so easy, because itseems like magic and they fear what that implies due to cultural or religious perceptions.

We believe that understanding and using the power of intent is critical to fulfilling ourmission on earth. Most people are comfortable with intent in the form of prayer. Thuswe sometimes use a clearing prayer that is quite effective in transforming detrimentalto beneficial energies.

The other most common form of intent is that of visualization used with a prayer of thetype mentioned above. If you can 'see' with your mind's eye the problem clearing or theparticular energy dissipating, then that can be a very helpful thing indeed.

Page 84: Space Clearing

Living Positively

This is the most complex, but in many ways, the most effective method you can practice for maintaining a clear living space.

Belief Systems

Belief systems are an important part of both attracting and getting rid of negative energy.

Those who believe that we take an active part in creating our environment will agreethat we can attract negative energy if we are under stress or thinking negativethoughts. In such a case, clearing the energy once is not a permanent fix unless wealter our thoughts and emotions, but this is easier said than done.

We have done clearings for individuals who were experiencing tremendous personal orjob stress, and the clearings did not last very long. If you have an unhappy marriage orfamily life, or if you hate your job, clearing your space is only going to have a temporary effect on your life.

It is vital that you make whatever changes are necessary in your life to allow you todraw in positive rather than negative energy by having positive thoughts and emotions.

In a word, if you want to live in an environment which is conducive to you and enhances your wellbeing, then start living in a way which encourages those goals.

The more you can live in a way which reduces the opportunities for disease, the lessnoxious or detrimental energy you are going to have to deal with. As it turns out, lifestyle changes are the best way to encourage energetic health, as with physical health.

Furthermore, as your environment will resonate with energy similar to your personalenergy, it is useful to clear your personal energy on a regular basis.

Also, as the energies of the Earth are showing greater signs of changing more rapidly,it is highly important that clearings should be done regularly. That’s why we stronglyadvocate a regular program of clearings.

At the time of this edition, we are still 4 years away from December 2012, when a major energy shift is completed on earth. However, those energies are already shifting, and we have seen dramatic changes in environmental energies in 20072008.

Page 85: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 85

The transitional time we are now in is part of a natural change process, but as with allgrowth processes, it is accompanied by a certain amount of energetic chaos and flux. This worldwide shift is allowing more than the usual numbers of discarnates, other entities, portals and noxious offworld energies to appear. Human energies are trending ina fearful and negative direction, as seen in the economy and various acts of violence.Even the energies of the earth are shifting dramatically.

These events are acting like a dust storm that goes through your property, tippingthings over, blowing things away and leaving a layer of dust on everything. By clearingmore frequently, you will help maintain the harmony of the energy and create a safeplace for yourself and your loved ones. At the time of this edition, we are recommending at least 4 clearings a year for all residential properties, and monthly for businessproperties of most types. High risk areas like hospitals, jails, war zones, etc, need morefrequent clearing.

Advanced MethodsThere are advanced methods we employ that deal with the more dangerous types ofnoxious energies. It is beyond the scope of this book to cover that subject, but if youdecide you want to learn advanced methods of space clearing, take one of our courseson that topic. Be sure you have mastered the information in this ebook prior to attempting any advanced techniques.

Where to buy books

Nigel Percy's book, "The Essence of Dowsing", looks at dowsing as something naturaland ordinary, and helps you to listen to and trust yourself. It is available atAmazon.com or Barnes and Noble.

The American Society of Dowsers sells books (www.dowsers.org), although the caveatabout their online store applies here too.

The British Society of Dowsers, www.britishdowsers.org also carry a good catalog ofbooks and have a swift and reliable service.

Basically, books on dowsing have tended to be divided between

1 "how to"; where the author presents his or her technique as the one to follow:

2 the "specifics", where dowsing in one particular area (such as water divining, oroil, or treasure) is focused upon. This latter category is where many diverse ideasand opinions come into play. A subset of this category is the examination of thespiritual aspect of dowsing.

Learning to Dowse

Learning to dowse is something usually best done by direct observation and practiceunder expert guidance.

The American Society of Dowsers contains many chapters throughout the countrywhich have meetings and at which dowsing is often taught. To find out the nearest location for you, visit their website, www.dowsers.org and search the chapter listingsthere.

In the UK, they have an agreed syllabus which approved tutors now teach. This ensures that the same basics are learned by everyone.

Other countries, such as Australia and Canada, usually have wellorganized websitesoffering details of group meetings and learning opportunities. Use a search engine tofind these out and to make contacts.

However, it is not always possible to attend a meeting. If this applies to you, then youshould visit the Professional House Clearing website where there is a dowsing coursefor sale, written by the auithors of this ebook.

It has been available for about 4 years now, has many affiliates selling it and is a popular method of learning how to dowse and what you can do with dowsing.

A very brief introduction to dowsing is included in this ebook.

Suggested Reading on Dowsing and Noxious Energies

There are far fewer books on Noxious Energies, although some Feng Shui books willhave a section on it. The first two books in the section below are very useful, althoughthey may be hard to find.

Safe as Houses? Ill Health and ElectroStress in the Home by David Cowan andRodney Girdlestone, Gateway Books 1995

A detailed look at EMF's and other energies in the home with some interesting andsuccessful suggestions for dealing with them. This book has detailed instructions formaking the cup and ring stones referred to earlier. It is now out of print but the authorshave released the chapters on the web for download.

Ancient Energies of the Earth by David Cowan and Anne Silk, Thorsons 1999(now out of print) Reprinted under the title "Leylines and Earth Energies" by Adventures Unlimited Press.

This is a detailed and wellresearched work on energies associated with the earth together with some theories concerning the strange marks found on some prehistoricstones. An interesting read for anyone interested in a wider appreciation of lines of energy in the earth.

Letter to Robin by Walt Woods

This small booklet is available at the ASD bookstore or free on the internet. This is often recommended as being suitable for beginning dowsers. However, it should be saidthat it tends to pack a large amount of information into one chart which can be difficultto work with at first. The approach may seem too 'programmed', but it is, nevertheless,a good starting point.

Dowsing for Beginners by Naomi Ozaniec, Hodder and Stoughton 1994 (reprintedsince)

This book is packed with a wealth of sensible, accessible information on dowsing. Although it is aimed at the beginner, it is a valuable resource for the intermediate dowseras well. Certainly well worth reading and rereading.

Principles of Dowsing by Dennis Wheatley, Thorsons 2000.

This small paperback is a good book for beginners who wish to delve into the manyapplications of dowsing. It is more scientific in its approach to dowsing and the possibleexplanations of the process which might be either good or bad, depending on your interest, but has the merit of good coverage in a small size.

Dowsing: Techniques and Applications by Tom Graves, Turnstone Books, 1976.

This is a practical, how to book on dowsing. Sadly now out of print, but if you can get acopy, it's well worth a read as it contains an absolute wealth of simple, clearly expressed practical advice on dowsing. Also sadly, not enough authors of dowsing booksare able to be this clear and concise about the subject.

The Divining Hand by Christopher Bird, Whitford Press, 1993.

This is usually considered to be the classic text on dowsing. Large format with chapterson the history of dowsing, details of significant dowers, analyses of various theories ondowsing and packed with illustrations, it is a valuable addition to any dowser's bookshelf.

The Essence of Dowsing by Nigel Percy, Trafford, 2002

A new look at what goes on during the time between when the dowser asks the question and gets the response. For those seriously interested in dowsing, this book presents the beginnings of a new dowsing paradigm. It is not just another book on how todowse. It is a book on what you should be doing when you dowse.

Dowsing: A Path to Enlightenment by Joseph Korn, New Millennium Press, 1997(Reprinted several times)

This book concentrates on how dowsing can lead to a greater spirituality. It also hasmany useful exercises.

Spiritual Dowsing by Sig Lonegren, Gothic Image Publications, 1986

Another good book on approaching dowsing with a more spiritual attitude. At the timeof writing, a free, downloadable version was to be found but there were plans for a reprint, so you might be lucky (or not).

It might be of interest to know that this was the book which inaugurated the 'May I?Can I? Should I?' approach to dowsing which has since taken (American) dowsingover. Prior to this, presumably, dowsers just dowsed?

Stalking the Wild Pendulum by Itzhak Bentov, Destiny Books, 1977

A more scientific exploration of the universe and how dowsing might be related to thebigger picture. It is a book for those who like to try to get a picture of the universewhich will help them to explain dowsing.

The Power of the Pendulum by T.C. Lethbridge, Arkana (Penguin) 1976

A thoughtful book about pendulum dowsing, among other things. Well written and easily readable, it leads into some interesting areas. Any books by Lethbridge are worthreading because of his erudition, his willingness to take tangential lines of thought andfor his light humor.

A Glossary of some names and terms used in Space Clearing

AAlfreka

The Viking term for land which has lost its spiritual energy. Such land would be useless and possible harmful to its inhabitants.

Animals

These can often be useful indicators of the energies in an area. It is important to remember that not all animals react in the same way to the same energies. Observationis the key here. A simple division is between cats and dogs. Cats tend to like areaswhich are negative or noxious to humans, while dogs are the reverse. There are manymore observations which can be made, but the simplest thing is to doublecheck yoursuspicions with dowsing.

Page 97: Space Clearing

BBachler, Kathe

Kathe Bachler was one of the pioneers in associating disease with geopathic stresswith her monumental investigative effort in Europe. From her observations as a teacher, she began investigating why some of her pupils were not performing as well as shethought they should. The results led her to investigate thousands of cases throughoutEurope.

Businesses

Businesses also need clearing energetically just as much as homes do, probably moreso in fact due to the higher numbers of people interacting in the environment.

The process of clearing is usually different, as it is often the business entity itself whichis cleared rather than the premises. (The reason for this is that a business is a result ofone or more people having an idea and creating something which had not existed before. Think of Nike or Dell or McDonald's and you will have an idea of what the business entity is like. It is not the buildings just by themselves, but all the things, people, machinery etc which go together to make up the business.)

However, the buildings of any business will usually benefit greatly from clearing workas well, especially if there are higher than usual absentee sickness or accident rates.

The coincidence of this disease with noxious zones of energy has usually been held upas a form of validation of the concept of geopathic stress. Certainly von Pohl's workdid produce a significant correlation between noxious zones and the disease. However, it should be understood that cancer is by no means always and only caused bysuch zones.

It is also true to say that our understanding of such zones is at a very early stage and itwould be wrong to state with any certainty that specific diseases are caused by noxious zones or geopathic stress. There may well be other factors of which we are unaware at present which have significant contribution to make. Just because we candowse something does not mean we know all about it.

Cats

Cats seem to prefer areas which humans can find stressful or unpleasant. To them, such areas are pleasant and restful. This just goes to prove that energy, of itself, isneutral, and it is only our perception of it which gives it labels.

ch'i

This is the name given by the Chinese to the flow of beneficial energy within the landscape. It is interesting to note that the Chinese perceive energy flowing through theland as sinuous and curving, whereas the Germans perceive it in straight lines. Thereis reason to suppose that the way we perceive these lines is, in some way, linked toour own cultural perceptions and attitudes.

Curry Grid

The first of the supposed earth grids to be discovered. It is named after its discoverer,a Swiss physician. It is similar to the Hartmann Net in that it is conceived as beingquite regular in its dimensions.

DDowsing

Dowsing is a very old art which is natural to humans. It is one of the primary methodsof detecting energies of all kinds. It is also a precursor to most methods of clearingthem. It can be carried out in many ways, both with and without tools.

It has innumerable uses and is a skill which can be acquired by all with just a little diligence. If you are going to be involved in space clearing in any way, it would repay youhandsomely to learn to dowse.

EEMFs

ElectroMagnetic Fields (EMFs) are present everywhere within the environment. Someof them are derived from nature. However, with the growth of technology and the accompanying increase in electronic equipment, there is increasing concern that thefields thus generated have measurably detrimental effects upon humans and animals.

However, there is also a school of thought that holds to the belief that humans are veryadaptable and that the dangers become less over time as people become less sensitive. (This is a major reason why you should not rely on meters alone. They can onlyshow the existence of such fields. They cannot show you the EFFECT on the people inthem.)

This adaptability theory does not negate the fact that some people are very sensitiveto such fields. In such cases, it is often useful to look at underlying emotional causeswhich allow the symptoms of reactions to occur.

Energy

This muchused term is really a catchall for what dowsers react to. It does not mean agreat deal by itself. Instead it is used to label some presence of something which otherwise would be very difficult to label and/or identify.

Whenever this term is used, be aware that the precise nature of the 'energy' wouldvary for different dowsers, although there would be some overall agreement as to effect.

Additionally, 'energy' is what is experienced by people who have adverse reactions togeopathically stressed areas. The nature of the energy, its origins, the reasons for itseffects are, of course, then to be discovered. In other words, don't become too enamored of using the term without really thinking what it might be about.

FFeng Shui

The Chinese method of arranging the landscape and the items within it in harmoniousrelationships which are beneficial to the people living there. It takes into account theflows of energy within the land. The art of Feng Shui is very old and the forms whichare usually met with in the West have been altered in order to fit better within the Western outlook.

GGhosts

Ghosts are often found to be present on properties which need clearing. In many casesthe ghost or ghosts are unaware that they are causing problems and will leave whenasked.

In other cases though, there is a reluctance to go because of fear of what might happen, or because there is no awareness that they are not alive. In such instances, thereis a need of reassurance or simple information.

The one aspect which should not be overlooked when dealing with ghosts is to makesure that you have accounted for all those who are normally there. Frequently you willfind that a ghost will go away while you do the clearing and then reappear afterwards,to the consternation of all.

Therefore, it is vital that you formulate your questions or clearing in such a way that allghosts who would normally be on the property or who interact with the property insome fashion are included in the clearing. If you are not sure, then check and checkagain!

Also, do not forget the ghosts of animals who have died on the property. They too needclearing!

Ghostbusters

A name sometimes assumed by, or given to, those people who clear areas which areunhealthy for humans.

The term has arisen due to the fact that sometimes such people find that discarnates(or ghosts) are contributing to the energy of the place and need clearing as well. (The1984 film of the same name also helped establish the term.)

Ghosts are an easier concept for the public at large to understand or accept. Ley linesand other energies within the earth are not yet fully accepted, so the generic name of'ghosts' has come to be applied to energies within areas needing clearing, hence theterm 'ghostbusters'. (It should, more accurately, be 'ghost clearers' or 'ghost removers',but the present name has the advantage of being more active and exciting.)

Grids

The concept of a grid or grids of energy in, on or about the Earth is a relatively recentone. It appears to have gained a wider acceptance after the appearance of the 1979Gaia hypothesis by James Lovelock (independent scientist, environmentalist, authorand researcher) which referred to the Earth as a living organism.

Some dowsers refer only to the Curry and Hartmann grids. However, if the Gaia hypothesis is correct, then it would appear unlikely that only two grids exist as such alarge organism is unlikely to have such a simple energetic organization.

There is no theoretical reason why a much larger number of grids should not exist.Perhaps such as yet unlabeled grids are being dowsed already but are not named orhave no common perception.

As has been said elsewhere, the investigation and understanding of geopathic zonesand noxious energies is still in its infancy. It would be foolish and arrogant to think thatthe mapping of the unseen aspects of the Earth is anywhere near complete.

HHager

Dr Hager of Stettin (now Szczecin, in Poland) further advanced the linking of cancerwith geopathic stress zones in his study of the city in 1930.

Hartman

Dr Hartmann discovered another grid, similar to the Curry grid but having a differentorientation and dimensions.

Heavy Metals

Such metals (particularly mercury and lead) are naturally toxic to humans and aresometimes present in small quantities in older buildings. Their presence contributes toSick Building Syndrome or (SBS).

IIndicators

There are many disease or emotional indicators for Geopathic Stress or Noxious Energies. It is pointless to attempt to list them all as they vary from place to place and fromperson to person. Some are mentioned in this glossary and throughout the text. However, the only really reliable indicator is yourself.

Irritability

This can sometimes act as an indicator of Geopathic Stress. However, it needs to beseen in the context of work and family life for it to be a useful indicator. In other words, you have to be aware of yourself and your normal reactions to stressors for this to beused successfully. The same is true for sleep disorders and tiredness.

KKitchen

The kitchen is often overlooked when considering Noxious Energies. However, as alarge portion of time each day can be spent in this area, it is very important that it isconsidered in any survey of a property.

If someone stands in front of the sink always regretting wasting their time there, thatcan build up a charge of negativity which others can react to. Plus, it should be bornein mind that a person with a negative outlook will draw negative energies to them, reinforcing their negativity. The same considerations apply to other areas of any buildingwhere a large proportion of time may be spent.

The large number of chemicals used in the kitchen can also cause toxic hazards. These can be dangerous and can contribute to illnesses which can confuse the situation with regard to Noxious Energies.

LLRods

These are frequently used by dowsers working onsite. They are easy to use and canpoint at, lead to or generally indicate locations. They are also simple to make.

Landvaettir

A Viking term for the beneficial spirits of the land. They propitiated them and sought tohave them stay, believing that, without them, the land would be energetically dead andharmful to humans. In fact, returning ships had to cover their carved and usually grotesque figurehead lest it would frighten the Landvaettir away. (See Alfreka)

Ley Lines

A general term for lines of energy within the earth. The meaning has become dilutedwith time and usage to mean virtually any line of energy. However, it was originally farmore precise in its meaning. It is another example of a word losing its meaning andbecoming less than useful.

MMagma

This is believed to have an influence upon the strength (and therefore the effect uponhumans) of the Curry grid, and is perhaps responsible in some fashion for the grid itself.

NNostradamus

The French seer recognized the value of living in an environmentally stressfree area,as it improved the health of the inhabitants.

Noxious Energies

This is a catchall term sometimes used to describe any sort of energy; natural, manmade or of psychic origin, which can be harmful to those who spend time in placeswhere such things exist. Other common terms are geopathic stress, detrimental energyand bad energy.

OÖnd

One of the various terms which has been used over the years to describe the naturalenergy within the earth. This particular one is Viking in origin.

PPendulum

A popular dowsing tool. It can be anything which has enough weight to straighten outthe cord, chain, string or whatever. Some dowsers prefer pendulums of specific materials or design but there is no definite proof of the benefit of one over another. It is, in theend, a purely personal preference.

Plutarch

This Roman writer was one of the first to maintain in writing that certain areas of theearth had beneficial or detrimental effects upon the inhabitants.

von Pohl

Gustav von Pohl is usually considered the person who first linked disease (specifically, cancer) to certain areas of the earth, where he identified flows of underground waterthrough dowsing.

Pollutants

Various pollutants are thought to be contributory factors in nonspecific illhealth. Inspace clearing, pollutants can be considered to be psychic as well as physical.

Psychic Attack

This can have a debilitating effect upon individuals. Psychic attacks can range fromdeliberate curses placed upon people or the environment to a leaching of energy byone person, albeit unintentionally. The latter variety of attack is usually caused by people who drain the vitality from those around them and are, as a consequence, knownas 'psychic vampires'.

Page 112: Space Clearing

SSchools

Falling grades, aboveaverage absence through illness of staff and students, or poorbehavior may all be attributed to noxious energies. In such cases, it is useful to examine the institution to see if specific areas or classes are exhibiting such symptoms andno other circumstances can account for them.

Sha

A term from China, associated with Feng Shui, to describe nonbeneficial flows of energy within the landscape. (See ch'i)

Sick Building Syndrome (SBS)

Whilst not strictly the same as geopathic stress or noxious energies, SBS can createsimilar problems for those susceptible. The key aspect of the discovery of SBS in thelast quarter of the 20th Century was that it helped people to look at their environment ina new way and so helped to reinforce the idea that noxious energies, although equallyinvisible, could also have similar effects.

Sleep Disorders

Problems sleeping, despite being tired, can be indicative of geopathic stress, but is notconsistent enough to be a reliable indicator. However, if you can sleep well when awayfrom your usual bed and find yourself subject to such things as panic attacks, nightmares and unspecified fear, there is then strong reason to believe that geopathicstress is present.

Stängle

Jacob Stängle, using electronic equipment, found radiation fluctuations in the sameareas where Gustav von Pohl had dowsed underground flows of water 40 years earli

Page 113: Space Clearing

er, adding more weight to the scientific verification of invisible energies which affecthumans.

Stress

The stress referred to here is the stress an organism undergoes in areas of noxiousenergies. It may well be virtually undetectable until some outward physical manifestation focuses awareness. In most cases, the noxious environment adds incrementally tothe stress levels, such that they are unobserved. Then, like a bucket which suddenlybecomes too full, the next increment releases a flood of symptoms or behaviors.

Symptoms

It is difficult, if not impossible, to list the symptoms exhibited by people undergoing theeffects of noxious energies. If the list of symptoms exhibited by animals and plantswere to be added, an already very long list would rapidly become virtually endless. What really matters are the symptoms which the individual is noticing. Other people'ssymptoms can only be guidelines.

Page 114: Space Clearing

TTiredness

Although tiredness can be indicative of geopathic stress, it is again too vague andshould only be considered in conjunction with the whole range of personal indicators.

Transformation

This is the usual aim today of neutralizing noxious energies. Earlier methods concentrated on moving the energies, blocking the energies, or relocating the sufferers. Amore holistic approach is gaining wider appreciation, however, and recognizes that energy of itself is neutral. It only needs to be transformed to whatever is appropriate forthe residents.

VVan Allen Belts

These belts of high energy particles above the earth are considered by some to be instrumental in shaping the characteristics of the Hartmann Net. These belts have beenobserved to have had harmful effects on electronics, and the particles are also harmfulto humans.

Vikings

In preChristian Europe, these people had the most coherent views on earth energieswhich have come down to us. Various laws and stories exist which show the way inwhich this outlook had permeated their society. Although other societies doubtlessshared these views, documentation does not exist to confirm or deny this position.

Vilsbiburg

This small town in Bavaria is the place where the systematic correlation between disease and earth energies was first demonstrated by Gustav von Pohl. It was, at thetime, the town with the highest death rate from cancer in Germany. von Pohl useddowsing to identify what he determined were noxious zones. These were later confirmed by plotting them against known deaths.

Volatile Organic Compounds(VOC)

These are emitted from many everyday materials in our environment and have beenfound to be major elements in Sick Building Syndrome (SBS).

Frequently there can be allergic reactions to formaldehyde, one of the main VOC's,although there are many people who show great sensitivity to other VOC's found incleansing agents, solvents and the like.

As a side note, the increasing growth of chemicals in the household, usually in cleaning agents, has led to an increase in allergies and other diseases, especially in children. It certainly makes sense to evaluate your cleaning products to ascertain their

Page 117: Space Clearing

effect on you and your family. Simply switching to safer, more natural products canproduce significant results.

WWater

Water flowing underground has been shown to generate measurable fields which canaffect people. Some are more sensitive than others.

A link between underground water and cancer was established early in the 20th Century. Ways of dealing with such flows now involve moving the flows by intent or by altering the energy associated with them to become beneficial. Dr Masaru Emoto's workwith water, as well as much anecdotal evidence shows that water is capable of carrying 'energies' in it.

Watkins, Alfred

The originator of the term 'Ley lines'. He was the author of The Old Straight Trackwhich first detailed his discoveries of ancient paths in the English county of Hereford inthe 1920's.

World Health Organization (WHO)

WHO is currently investigating the effects upon humans of ElectroMagnetic Fields(EMF's) and trying to identify all possible sources and the safe levels (if any) of allsources. The uptodate results can be found at their website.

Frequently Asked Questions

•What is geopathic stress? •Geopathic Stress is a term which is used to describe energies which originate in someform in the Earth or which are found to be present in the earth and which have a variety of differing effects upon the humans who come into (usually prolonged) contactwith them.

Typically, Geopathic Stress (or GS) is associated with underground streams of water. However, there are many other causes ranging from types of rock strata, faulting insome rocks, to other, more obscure types which, so far, have not been positively identified as having a specific origin or cause.

These latter types are usually associated with some form of flow of energy within theearth. It is is this area which has caused GS to be identified with ley lines althoughsuch an association between the two was not the intention at the outset. (See thechapter on Ley Lines here, for further information.)

In other words, the term Geopathic Stress is a 'catchall' term for unseen energieswhich appear not to have their origin in humanrelated objects or buildings but whichcan have debilitating effects upon those who encounter them.

•What is noxious or detrimental energy? •Noxious or detrimental energy is a more general term for any type of energy that has aharmful effect on humans. These energies can originate in the earth or be man made, such as electromagnetic radiation from computers, TVs and microwaves.

• Is geopathic stress / noxious energy harmful? •Geopathic stress, noxious/negative/detrimental energies are all potentially harmful tohumans and some types of animals and plants. To some species of animals andplants, what we term negative energy is actually beneficial.

Energy is neutral in and of itself. It is categorized by how it affects humans. Therefore, what we term negative energy is only negative because of its effects on us. To antsand cats, for example, what we term noxious energy appears to be beneficial.

Page 122: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 122

•What does geopathic stress do? •Detrimental energies of all types seem to weaken our resistance, as if they lower theimmune response in some fashion. They do not cause illness themselves, but rathermake a person more susceptible to disease symptoms.

You will be more at risk in those areas where you spend the most time. It is the prolonged exposure to detrimental energies that seems to stimulate symptoms.

For example, if you have a spot of noxious energy in the far corner of your attic, andyou almost never go there, you probably wouldn't even be aware of it. However, if oneday you went up to the attic to clean it out for a yard sale, and you spent hours sortingthrough items in that corner, you might feel weakened, ill, unable to focus or sick insome way.

We find that in the home, the bedroom is a critical area to keep clear, and at work, thework station. Your favorite chair for watching TV is also a place to check out, as is thekitchen, if you spend much time preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards.

•What are the symptom of detrimental energy? •They vary from person to person. Symptoms that began when you moved into a newhome or new job are a chief sign of problem energies. Symptoms that go away whenyou go on vacation or leave your work or home for long periods of time are suspicious.

Some plants and animals may fall ill if detrimental energies are present. Frequent accidents, unexplained feelings of panic or discomfort, a sense of heaviness, or any physical symptoms like headache, sinus problems, digestive or heart issues can be causedby negative energies.

These energies can also prevent your house from selling when you put it on the market, or prevent your business from succeeding. They have a hand in relationship challenges, especially when those challenges were not always present. If you find that youfeel you just aren't yourself, that can also be a sign of environmental energies.

A strong desire to get out of a place often represents an unconscious awareness ofnegative energies.

• How can I get rid of detrimental energies? •

Page 123: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 123

Detrimental energies may be cleared in many ways. In our work, we use intent, fragrance, sound and patterns most frequently to clear spaces of harmful energy.

• Can I clear detrimental energies myself? •Being aware of the effects of energy is the first step in keeping your space safe. All ofthe methods professionals use are also available to nonprofessionals. However, education and experience are valuable assets in doing an effective clearing.

If you plan to clear your own space, study as many methods as you can and practiceregularly to enhance your skill.

• What advantages are there to hiring a professional to clear myspace? •

Professionals such as ourselves have the education and experience to recognize eventhe most complex causes of detrimental energy and to clear them effectively. Exposureto many different scenarios gives them invaluable expertise to draw on. A professionalin most cases will be able to clear your space better than you can yourself.

In our case we have been doing this sort of work since 2000 and have worked on literally hundreds of places, giving us a depth of experience which few others can call upon. Plus we work as a team which is immensely helpful

Page 124: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 124

• What is the cost of a professional space clearing? •Prices will vary, depending on whether the person works in person or long distance.Ask the professional to explain what his or her price includes so that you understandwhat you are getting. As with most things, you get what you pay for. See the Professional House Clearing website for our current prices.

•Will one space clearing clear my space permanently? •Not likely. As we go through life, we encounter daily stresses and challenges that willattract negative energies into our space. We are constantly bombarded by electromagnetic radiation from all kinds of sources, like computers, TV and microwave ovens.

Our environment changes, and we change. The energies in our environment likewisechange. It is important to check your space regularly to see if it needs clearing.

You wouldn't expect your house to stay permanently clean after one vacuuming. Neither should you expect your space to stay permanently clear after one treatment.

It is for these reasons that we offer a discount to those who work with us regularly tokeep their space clear.

• How will I be able to tell when I need my space cleared again? •Your symptoms might return if you need another clearing, or it might be as subtle asjust being aware that things aren’t right.

Training your intuition or learning to dowse are two ways of checking if your spaceneeds clearing.

•Why might multiple clearings be needed? •Stress is a part of life. Unfortunately, excessive stress can attract negative energies.Major life changes, such as divorce, death, job loss or moving will frequently attractdetrimental energies into your environment. Even the simple daily stresses of modernlife will do the same thing over time.

Page 125: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 125

• Is there any way to reduce the frequency of needed clearings? •An awareness of how we shape our environment can help you to keep your spaceclear. Taking responsibility for your environment will help you be conscious of whenclearing is needed. Saying a prayer of intent or using some other form of clearing regularly will also help.

In the end, though, it depends totally on your life style, your outlook as well as thephysical location of your property.

• How often is is advisable to check if my space needs clearing? •If you are going through any type of major life crisis or transition, check your space frequently. Daily is not too often is extreme situations. If your life has no particular challenges, then you may check less frequently. A clearing will usually last for about 3months or more. Earlier, a clearing would hold for 56 months. However, the Earth energies are changing and new ‘stuff’ is constantly being brought to the surface. Thismeans that new challenges are being created in the environment, hence the need formore frequent clearings.

• Is there more than one method of space clearing? •There are many effective methods of space clearing. They operate through the intentof the person who uses them. To choose an effective method, a professional will eitherdowse or use some other intuitive technique. You may do the same thing.

• Is a distance clearing as effective as one done on site? •Maggie & Nigel Percy (the authors) have performed many clearings long distance withexcellent results. They have not found distance clearings to be less effective thanthose performed in person, although they enjoy working with clients on site. If you havea choice between a distance and an on site clearing, use your intuition or dowsing todetermine what is best for your needs or simply consult with Maggie and Nigel via thecontact form on the Professional House Clearing website.

Dowsing: A Basic Introduction

By Maggie and Nigel Percyof

Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc

Page 128: Space Clearing

A BASIC INTRODUCTION TO DOWSINGDowsing is really very simple to do. It doesn't require a great deal of effort or expense. What follows is a basic set of instructions to get you started. However, do not forget thatwhat really counts is not the tool, but you.

Before You Begin to Dowse.

Dowsing requires the body to be wellhydrated and in a restful state. You cannot dowsewell if you are trying to watch TV, or if your body is dehydrated. Similarly, you need to beemotionally detached from whatever you are dowsing about. No one can obtain good answers if they want a particular answer badly. You may have curiosity about the answer, but you must have no vested interest in a specific result.

You can also find it hard to dowse if your polarity is wrong. We all have an electric fieldaround us, because the earth has a magnetic field, and we have iron circulating in ourblood, so we respond to it. Our polarity can become 'switched' easily by a number of factors, from stress to fluorescent lighting, and once switched, can lead to reversed 'YES' and'NO' answers. To ensure your polarity is correct, simply take the first three fingers of yourright hand and stroke your forehead three times with them, going from right to left.

Holding the Pendulum

Hold your pendulum as shown in the picture to the right.

If you have the thread or chain very long, then it takes a long time to notice any differencein the motion of the pendulum. A shorter length is preferable, such as illustrated in thephoto.

You should not be too tense when holding it. Try for a relaxed approachso that the pendulum simply dangles from the tips of the thumb and forefinger.

Many people make the mistake, when learning, of having the pendulumhang motionless and then expecting it to move. While that is possible, itis much easier to have the pendulum moving to begin with.

Swing the pendulum in a circle. Make it a steady movement, not too vigorous, not too gentle. You will notice that it only takes a very slight movement of the hand to keep it going.

Page 129: Space Clearing

Your Responses

Now you have it in motion, look ahead and just keep the pendulum in sight in the corner ofyour eye. Now ask that the pendulum move to show you a 'YES' reaction. This might be asidetoside movement. or a toandfro movement. It might be that

it wants to circle the other way, or go in a diagonal. Whatever happens, allow it to happen. If at first you do not get a response, it might be that your 'YES' is a circular motion. In thatcase, start the pendulum moving in a different way; backandforth, diagonally or sidetoside. Try it again and see if you get a reaction. If nothing appears to be happening, try tobe aware of any small movement which is different from the original. If you notice it, thenexaggerate it a little by yourself until it is very apparent.

Different people have different responses. If you read various articles, you will see thatmost people prefer the YES response to be to and fro. It is up to you. If you wish the response to be to and fro, than make the pendulum move to and fro while stating "This is my'YES' response". Do it until it feels natural.

Go through exactly the same process again, but this time ask for your 'NO'. As long as it isdifferent from the 'YES' reaction, that is all that matters. You will come across people whostate that the 'usual' 'NO' response is a sidetoside motion. As before, if you want this tobe your 'NO', then move the pendulum from sidetoside whilst stating "This is my 'NO' response". Do it until it feels natural.

Try not to stare at the pendulum. Keep it in sight in the corner of your eye. By doing this, you are making your brain look at two things at once. This ability to look at two things atonce and focus on neither is an important aspect of dowsing. It helps the brain to get intothe correct state which facilitates dowsing.

Being in a "dowsing state" is the key to getting accurate dowsing responses. The most important thing about attaining a dowsing state is that you are focusing your mind totally onthe question you are asking. If your mind flits to other subjects, such as what you are having for dinner, you may no longer be in a dowsing state. Therefore, the ability to multitaskis actually a handicap if you try to do it while dowsing. (Note that we do not regard "lookingat two things" as described above as multi tasking. That does not involve focusing themind.)

As with everything else, if you really want to become skilled in dowsing, you have to practice. Practice asking questions and getting answers.

Page 130: Space Clearing

Questions...

The basis of all dowsing is asking questions. While this sounds simple, it can prove to bethe source of frustration and seemingly poor results. A typical question beginners ask is,"Is buying this item good for me?" However, the word 'good' can have different meaningsfor different people. Good might mean: not harmful, healthy, beneficial spiritually, upliftingemotionally, physically helpful, financially beneficial, helpful in the short term only, positiveor helpful in the long term only (and probably many others you can think of). Asking aquestion like this can give you seemingly strange answers because of the varied meanings of the word 'good'.

Therefore, you need to be able to be precise in your questioning. A better example of thissort of question would be as follows:

"On a scale of 1 to 10 (where 1 is the worst possible effect on me and 10 is the best possible effect) does this item rate an 8 or above for my longterm physical health?"

While this may sound longwinded at first, with practice it will become second nature.

And Answers

Some people might ask where the answers come from. If you ask different dowsers youwill get different answers. That doesn't mean that no one knows what they are talkingabout. It simply means that it is very difficult to put the answer into words that everyoneagrees upon. To begin with, it is probably easier to think of there being some sort of general library of information about everything to which we all have access. You can refinethat idea as you learn more about dowsing.

Deviceless Dowsing

There will undoubtedly be a time when you want to dowse and you don't have your pendulum with you. This is when deviceless dowsing comes into its own. Itis dowsing without any tools at all, just your own body. The followingmethod is just one of at least 20 different ways of doing this.

Place your thumb and forefinger together and gently rub them. Ifthey do not slide easily over each other but feel sticky, then that signifies a 'YES' response. A smooth sliding of the two is a 'NO'. Thistechnique is very simple and you can use it in public, as you walk,as you look at a menu, or however you use dowsing.

Page 131: Space Clearing

LIST DOWSING

One of the most useful applications of dowsing is when you wish to choose one or moreitems from a list. The list can be anything at all: holiday destinations, vitamins, restaurants. The choice will be welldefined (i.e., you will have phrased the question carefully and accurately!). Simply have the question in your mind (to begin with, it helps to have it writtenout) and ask if there is anything on the list which is an 8, 9 or 10 on a scale of 10. If youget a 'YES', then point or look at each item as you dowse to find out which of them meetyour criteria. You can practice this technique on a restaurant menu. Ask a question like "Isthere an item on this menu to which I will have no allergic reaction and which will be flavorful and an enjoyable 8, 9 or 10 on my scale?"

Then order it!!

See what you end up with and how you like it. This method of trusting your intuition is bothfun and interesting!

THE POSSIBILITIES...

Dowsing gives you a skill which has, literally, no boundaries. You can dowse just aboutany area of your life you want to. All you need to be able to do is to ask the right question! The possibilities are endless. How far does your imagination extend? That is your dowsinglimit.

17. What is your overall feeling about your property? Which one of the following categories comeclosest to describing your own reactions, perceptions and feelings? Choose just the closest one.a. I feel safe, secure and happy. The overall tendency is of feeling light and without any obvious problems. At night, I can be awake and alone and feel unconcerned. There are no reasons that I can think of whichwould make me doubt that this is the perfect place for me.

This is closest to the way I feelb. I generally feel happy. There might be some small areas which I feel could be better, but it's hard todescribe why. At night, alone and awake, I mostly feel content and at peace, but sometimes I have thefeeling that something is not quite right. Generally, I find that this place is a safe refuge from the world, but I don't seem to spend a lot of time at home just relaxing.

This is closest to the way I feel

c. I often feel OK, but there are times when this place just doesn't feel quite right. I know of a couple ofplaces I would like to change the feeling of. I sometimes don't like being awake and alone at nightunless I have plenty of light and/or noise or entertainment to keep me occupied. I keep expecting a noiseor something similar to happen. However, I have got used to the place now. I can sometimes feelclaustrophobic or have cabin fever if I stay home for long.

This is closest to the way I feel

d. I sometimes feel OK in this place, but more often than not I think I could be happier or feel morecontent. There's lots I would like to do to it to make it feel more like the home I want so that it wouldjust 'feel' better. I don't like being awake on my own at night. It often feels creepy, but I couldn't tell youwhy because I don't think about it too much.

This is closest to the way I feel

e. I just don't feel right in this place. I'm often tired and / or depressed or nervy and can't seem to relaxeasily. It sometimes feels as if there's a heavy weight on me that I can't shake off. That feeling easeswhen I'm away from here. Sometimes I get the spooky idea I'm being watched or I just feeluncomfortable when I'm here on my own. If I had a choice and could afford it, I'd probably think ofmoving.

This is closest to the way I feel

f. This place has never really been right since I've moved in. Sometimes it just gives me the chills / makesme feel sad / makes me want to get out, but I couldn't tell you why. I would believe anyone who told methey saw things here. I can't settle, there's always some sort of illness or being under the weather goingon. The place just never looks as clean as I'd like, no matter what I do.

Part 2: Assessing your answers.

By now you should have completed answering all the questions on the first section as fully as possible.

What we're going to do in this part is help you understand the answers and assess your own overall risk.

But First! We should point out that just about every home needs a clearing, needs its energies harmonized and balanced. That's just a fact of life. We are, after all, energetic beings, living in a world full of all types of energies.

It's not surprising that both we and the environment could do with a little cleanup every now and then.

Some homes will need it more than others and some people are at a far greater risk than others. Hopefully, thisinstallment will enable you to put your home in perspective, energetically speaking!

Obviously, if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us, using the form on the website

The Questions...The first set of questions were about you because you are the one who should be most aware of your ownenvironment.

The length of time you have lived there might prove to be important when later answers are considered. Simplyput, the longer you live in a place (assuming it is not cleared and maintained), the greater the chance that youwill be affected by negative energies of all kinds and the greater the possible effects on you.

That's whyQuestions 2,3 ,4 and 5 are all referring to health and health issues. Health issues are usually goodindicators of energetic problems in the environment.

Questions 6 and 7 are also useful indicators of the overall effect on you in terms of being able to be at rest inyour own home.

Question 8 lists the most common sources of electromagnetic radiation (emr)in the home and asks about yourexposure to them. Again, emr can have differing effects on people.

The remaining questions deal with the environment you live in and possible responses to it.

Question 9 lists the most common types of incidents and experiences associated with environments which needclearing work done.

Questions 10, 11, 12 and 13 deal with the known past of the property. Some would obviously have a greatereffect than others. For example, an old burial ground or plague pit would probably create moreproblems than a very minor skirmish. The use of the land for ceremonial purposes can also havemarked effects on you, but not necessarily in terms of health issues. It can manifest in other ways such asproblems in concentrating, of being overlooked, of not prospering and so on.

Question 14 deals with the external aspects of your environment. The way plants, shrubs and trees grow (ordon't ) can be excellent indicators of problematic energies in the area. Similarly, animals outside are usuallyextremely sensitive to energetic imbalances. Time spent in carefully observing them and their habits can oftenreveal a wealth of information. Horses avoid areas, ants like areas we don't, fish avoid such areas and so on andon. This sensitivity is also the reason for Question 16.

Question 15 puts the spotlight on some types of external reasons for any problems or difficulties. Largescaledisturbances of the earth are never very good for health and wellbeing, and areas of stagnation or of excessiveenergy can all cause imbalances in you.

Page 138: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 138

In some ways, the last question is the hardest to answer because it is highly unlikely that any one of thedescriptions will match exactly how you feel. That is why you were asked to pick the one closest to how youfeel.

So...Are you at risk and how do you tell?In questions 316, the more Yes answers you marked, the more you probably need a space clearing. So go backand scan your answers and see if you had a small, moderate or large number of Yes answers.

Finding the true risk is not as simple as adding up all the check marks you have entered and seeing what thetotal is. The levels of effects on you can vary given the amount of time you have spent there, your overall healthand wellbeing and your own awareness of such things.

A complete picture cannot be gained from this questionnaire because it does not take into account what is underyour home. Dowsing can locate such places and fill in the picture with more detail. Underground water andfault lines are not obvious on the surface yet they can have serious consequences for people.

Hence these questions can only serve to point out areas where you are probably at risk and give you pointers asto how you can recognize such risk. It cannot tell you if you are going to remain healthy if you stay there.

Nowhere is there mention of your normal emotional outlook or how you think of health and illness. These arealso important factors because the way you think and act is an indication of what you are likely to end up with. You are probably aware of people who see everything in negative ways, rarely seeing anything good aroundthem. As a result, nothing good seems to happen to them. It's almost like they're pushing it away. Remainingnegative can seriously affect your environment.

We highly recommend that you contact us and arrange a free geomantic consultation through our website. Thiswill expand on what you have discovered here, and at no obligation to you. See our website for details.

What's to do?The main thing to recognize is this.....

No matter what your level of health and wellbeing is right now, no matter what you think or feel, the plainand simple fact of the matter is that your environment is affecting you and the cleaner and clearer it is thehealthier and happier you are going to be. Therefore, to maintain optimal health and wellbeing yourenvironment, just like your car, your body or your physical environment, needs a regular cleaning. The cleaning can be quick and easy or it might involve more detailed work, but it needs cleaning.

A carpet needs cleaning. Often it just requires a simple vacuum. But sometimes there might be wine stains orsomething worse. Think of your energetic environment in the same way.

Now take your time and reread your answers and honestly assess your environment.

Part 3: Putting it all together

In Part 1, you carried out a careful review of your home. In Part 2, you were then shown what the questionswere looking at and why some of them were more important than others. You were also asked to honestly assessyour environment. We hope this has helped you understand more about what is going on around you.

In this final part, we will look at what are some of the possible results of having your space cleared. Plus wewill tell you how you can have all your regular clearings carried out for free!

Benefits:People can benefit in various ways from having space cleared. Amongst the most obvious are physicalsymptoms. However, the benefits are not always purely physical. They can range from the way your emotionalresponse to the environment changes to how well animals and plants thrive.

What follows is just a quick sample of some of the ways in which clients have been helped by having theirspace harmonized.

1. Physical improvements:

a) A woman with constant head, neck and throat pains was found to be sleeping with her head over thecrossing of several noxious energy lines. Amongst the physical conditions were things like badheadaches, mouth ulcers, sore throats, ear aches, styes (sties) on the eyelids and heavy head colds. When the lines were cleared, her symptoms went away and she found relief from these constantnagging irritations.

b) A number of horses suffering from colic and coliclike symptoms were relieved after the area theirfeed was stored in was cleared of energy which was detrimental to their health. In this case, theenergy came into them through the feed and not because of where they were pastured.

c) A woman was suffering from depression and a general lack of vitality and was not responding to herchemo treatment for breast cancer. She experienced a great turn around in her mood and in herhealing after clearing her space. Not only did she feel better, but she reported that she saw birdscoming up to the kitchen window for the first time in years.

2. Emotional improvements:

a) A young girl, an honors student, was having fugue states and was making up stories of peoplecoming to kidnap her. Her grades dropped disastrously and she began to harbor thoughts of suicide. She reported seeing red eyes watching her every night. Her family was ready to take her forpsychiatric evaluation. After one clearing, she regained her composure, never saw the eyes again andquickly reached her previous level of scholastic achievement.

b) After suffering from just not feeling right for years, with fewer and fewer wildlife being seen andhaving arguments a lot of the time with her family (which did not used to happen), the wifeapproached us to help her. The space was cleared and she began to notice big differences in the wayher family interacted. She said it was like they were all on Prozac(!). She also reported wildlife, including turkey, elk and deer, being seen in larger numbers again.

c) Two young, sensitive children were noticing a lot of ghosts. In fact, they would casually talk ofseeing things like a girl and her dog walking through the room! Despite the acceptance of theirmother of what they were seeing, they began to feel uncomfortable and afraid. After clearing theirspace, they returned to their happier, calmer ways again and reported that they couldn't see anyoneanymore.

Page 140: Space Clearing

Contents Copyright Sixth Sense Consulting, Inc 2008 140

3. Other improvements:

a) Clearing an office space remotely, we had feedback that there was a large fish tank in the area wherewe had noted some detrimental energy. Fish frequently died in there. After the clearing, the fishwhich had been ill and laying on their sides at the top of the tank, began to recover their vitality andwere soon swimming around happily again.

b) One man and his daughters were moving to a new state and a new life. In order to begin in the bestway possible, he asked for a clearing of the new property just after moving in. He only added hisfurniture and did nothing else to the place. However, within a day, his new neighbors and some oldfriends who were visiting, asked when he had repainted, as it looked so clean and fresh now. (Ofcourse, he hadn't done any such thing!)

c) A beautiful old cottage had been on the market for two years. We were called in to help with theenergies of the place. We cleared a long accumulation of negative energy there in various forms. The seller had had no interested parties in many months. Noone had even come to look at it. Wewere notified that within a week of our work, the place had had a buyer and was sold.

Conclusions:This work can have so many benefits and can act positively in so many ways that it can be a very powerful andreinforcing aspect of your life. Not only can you feel better, but the whole place can look better. Familyrelationships can improve, wildlife can come back again and your pets and plants can thrive once more.

Imagine what having a place like that would add to your life!

Escaping completely from the stresses and strains of life, having a truly restful area where you can relax and beat peace. That alone would be worth it. But if you have physical challenges or emotional concerns, thistechnique can bring muchneeded relief.

Working remotely or onsite. We use dowsing to assess your place. We use it whether we are actually there or using a plan. It doesn't matterwhich. Dowsing is a method of finding what the problems are.

In case that sounds strange, remember that you can tell where things are and a lot of other details about a townyou've never visited just by looking at a piece of paper. We call it a map!

Well, the same idea applies in dowsing except that we are able to go a little bit further than just seeing wherethings are. We can also find out how they feel and what to do about clearing them. It only sounds strange ifyou've never done it, just as mapreading would be strange to someone who had never used one before.

What Can You do?

Given the obvious benefits, you can do several things:

You can visit the site www.professionalhouseclearing.com regularly to keep up to date with the latestadditions.

You can join the mailing list for the free monthly newsletter which adds tidbits not normally availableto the general reader.

You can have your space cleared by us on a regular basis to maintain a healthy and well balancedenvironment.

In other words, there is much you can do, a lot of it for free, to help your environment stay in balance.
