The awards were handed out during a ceremony at Oper- ating Engineers’ Banquet Hall on Speers Road. 2015 Parapan Am Games silver medalist Melanie Hawtin was also recog- nized with a special award. Sport Oakville held its eighth annual Sport Recognition Awards Sunday to honour the excellence, perseverance and dedication of Oakville’s athletes, teams, coaches and volun-teers in the areas of sport development, performance and contribution to the community.
