The Paradoxes and Potentials of Spiritual Development by Leonard D. Orr

We face many paradoxes and potentials on our spiritual journey, even though truth, simplicity and love seem so simple and obvious. Even though we are energy, thought, and form, our minds and feelings can go on many trips. Our conscious rational mind can easily say, “yes I agree to live truth, simplicity, and love,” but the unconscious mind may have other plans. And who knows what truth and simplicity really is? As a teacher in the Rebirthing Breathwork movement for over 38 years and as a one year seminar leader and as a participant in spiritual conventions and various organizations, I have a unique and experienced perspective on the illusions and the accomplishments of the spiritual development of up to millions of people. Let’s look at these paradoxes and potentials: there are many. Consider heaven on earth or hell on earth for example, what are you experiencing right now? What have you experienced in the past? How many times have you been in heaven on earth or hell on earth? When your read about descriptions of hell after death, does it sound familiar? What about heaven after death? If it was so great, why didn’t you stay there? And why did you come back so stupid? The early Rebirthing Breathwork conventions that happened annually were called Heaven On Earth Conventions. We were singing and dancing and celebrating. We were in total bliss. The largest one was less than 400, then, they began to decline. Is it because the participants didn’t like heaven on earth any longer? Or is it because when they returned to the hum drum of everyday life, they gradually sunk back into hell and didn’t believe in or remember their heaven on earth experience any longer? And what happens when heaven on earth becomes ordinary reality? What then, are we enlightened enough to create our own drama to make our life interesting? Is it possible to have too much peace?Is a little struggle

necessary to have heaven on earth? How much is enough? This indicates that heaven on earth is a social experience as well as a spiritual experience. It can easily be produced by one or more spiritual practices that are done by the members of the society or the group. Conscious connected energy breathing is such a practice. -continued on pg 2.

It has demonstrated its power to put people individually or in groups into bliss. Then there is the power of pure meditation. This also can work. Silence and solitude are the Source of everything. There is the power of fire. Spending a day or a year with a fire is very magical and can induce all kinds of wonderful states and healings, and feelings. Soaking in a warm bath, now there is a direct line to relaxation and bliss. And when combined with breathing and candles, we have an amazing potential for bliss and renewal. Heaven on earth is a social experience. Spiritual communities that are not continually expanding die. Environment is stronger than will power. We have to change our environment if we like it to support us. Heaven on earth is more fun when everyone is included. Now there is a challenging concept – what if everyone on earth tuned into God at the same moment and experienced bliss, truth, simplicity, and love??? Most people think that they are doing the right thing –even when it is evil. Most people think that they are happy, even if it is very superficial. The fact is that everyone is tuned into God all the time. So maybe this is a thought that we would do well to get used to. Maybe we just have to keep pushing people gently in the right direction and we will all end up in heaven on earth before we know it. Maybe

we just have to get more people to realize that they are tuned into God and to concentrate on truth, simplicity, and love more. So why not start thinking that it is already happening. Why not start thinking that everyone has enough money, wisdom, peace, love, and goodness in their lives. They obviously have enough God, they – we are immersed in God all the time. How do we push people toward virtue and ethics? Conscious energy breathing pushes people into extraordinary peace and relaxation. If we relax are we automatically in heaven on earth? Building spiritual support communities and expanding their quality and quantity is necessary for the survival of the community’s well-being, as well as the individual. Multi-million dollar corporations die regularly because of the death urge of the managers, owners, employees, and even stockholders. Businesses cannot survive no matter how much money they have, without bringing the spiritual dimension into their businesses.

If we are immersed in God all the time, it must take a lot of effort to fail. We really have to struggle and work at failure to achieve it. And it is no secret that war is caused by neglecting the spiritual dimension in countries. The real spiritual dimension can even transform religions into sources of aliveness instead of death. Most people are worshiping a God that they think is planning to kill them. Are we living in a world of spiritual schizophrenics? We have to cure zombie consciousness everywhere in our society. Scientists say most people become zombies by the age of 30. Spiritual community is the key. When all we have to do is relax and enjoy the natural divinity of everyone, and honor their personal expression, happiness and joy can be everywhere. I became spiritually enlightened in 1960. Spiritual enlightenment is to know that energy becomes what it thinks about; or that all there is in the universe is energy, thought, and form, or that the source of everything is in the space between our thoughts, or that our thoughts create our reality. The intellectual high of cognizing these thoughts puts us into bliss and heaven on earth for a while. But it took me 5 to 10 years of effort with affirmations with the emotional response technique to experience being in the river of Life. ... continued on pg 4

The Inner Toddler (Approximate age 9 Months to 3 Years) - by Fanny VanLaere

Until approximately 18 months the world is a sensory abundance for the child. It is wonderful to touch, smell, taste and explore. When the child is prevented from doing this by adults (and because of our gender education, it is usually more common for girls) then they might develop autonomy and will power issues in the future and be afraid of the external world. From approximately 15 months to 3 years the child learns how to say no and is testing his parents boundaries in learning the way the world around him works. That way s/he learns to develop his own identity and sense of separation. Therefore it is very important to listen to and respect the child during this stage; but also set healthy, loving boundaries. It is a difficult period as the child has temper tantrums. They have strong emotions and do not know yet how to express them in a less dramatic way. The role of the parents then is to communicate with the child in a way that helps him process his emotions and learn to channel them. As in all the other stages the attitude of the child might trigger his parent’s unresolved issues, which they will have to heal before they can act in a wiser way. When this stage is not successfully completed the future adult can develop different issues like: shame and doubt about what s/he is doing, repression of exploring abilities, saying or receiving a no, asking for what they want, putting up healthy boundaries, emotional dramas and dependency. Many people also develop complexes and even traumas due to the pressure they received with the toilet training, such as the disapproval or demand they felt from the parents or other people around them during the phase of learning to leave nappies or diapers behind or avoiding urinating in bed. Some people unconsciously suffer from this problem so much that they even develop pathologies of the bladder, the colon, the anus or the intestines. Other people find it difficult to go to the toilet in situations of change, or when they are away from home. In this case it is good to overcome the repressed feelings of guilt and shame, as well as those related with the natural excretion functions of our body. Examples of affirmations for your inner toddler: “You, ---, can enjoy touching, smelling, tasting and exploring.” “It is safe to explore the world. I will always protect you.” “Little, ---, I love you the way you are.” “It is ok to have strong emotions. You can learn to express yourself in a loving way.” “I love you even when you have emotions explosions.” “It is ok to say no.” “You always deserve to be taken care of, little ---.” “You don’t have to worry for me; I can take care of you.” “I am glad you want to do the things your own way.” “You can be yourself; I will always be there for you.” Stay tuned for upcoming issues of the Conscious Connections in which we will go through the different stages of human development.. and our ʻinner childʼ will continue growing up with us until we are full balanced adults! ~ Fanny VanLaere f [email protected]

-And another 5 or 10 years of accumulating other spiritual disciplines and principles to experience being in the flow in most of my daily practical life. And even then I fell from bliss and effortless accomplishment from time to time into the depths of hell. Escaping into death is not a mystery. Physical immortality is the basic intelligence test of the physical universe. The mystery is that we pass the test each time we relax into our natural divinity and enjoy the universe, our body, our mind, and other people. This doesn’t mean that we have to be with people all the time. We deserve as much

solitude and privacy that we can handle. I healed the unconscious death urge that I learned from my family tradition in 1967. It took me 6 months of working with affirmations to achieve this. But it was a fun adventure. I went from suicidal feelings and endless struggle and misery into effortless success and boundless energy and creativity in 6 months of concentration. We live in a society and civilization dominated by deathist mentality. And parents program their children in victim consciousness. If a child survives this conditioning, conscious and unconscious, conditioning, until the age of 5, he or she is considered to be a gifted child. Our deathist society is designed to destroy the natural Divinity of people. And even after healing the unconscious death urge I learned from my family tradition, I learned that I can get re-injected with the death urge of others if I don’t stay conscious and do enough spiritual purification – if I don’t respect my own need for privacy. When we enjoy

being alone and healing ourselves, we have more fun healing other people. We are fortunate that our Creator made all the methods of spiritual purification with earth, air, water, and fire pleasurable as well as very simple. Purification with mind and relationships is sometimes easier and sometimes more difficult. Having a wise spiritual community helps. Being with smart, fun, insightful people on a regular basis can make life brighter and more entertaining. And then there is the reality of intimate relationships. Unless our friends and lovers and family members are higher and more perfect than we are, we can be brought down by them. Unfortunately, all relationships with other souls have a cost. The cost can be small or large. It tends to be large when there is manipulation involved. The cost can be fatal, or just a temporary hell on earth. It is temporary misery only if we learn how to heal ourselves. If we don’t learn the skills of spiritual purification the misery gets worse, until the ultimate victim goal of death becomes desirable. Mastering the skills of cleaning and balancing the energy body are the skills of relaxation and remembering our divine nature. Remembering that we are immersed in God and Infinite Intelligence and Infinite Abundance can be easy. We have the paradox of victim or heroes and heroines. Everyone is either a hero, heroine or victim. One of my definitions of love is the willingness to process the negative energy of other people. If we do it successfully we are genuine heroes and heroines, but if we do it unsuccessfully, we become ever greater victims. It is too easy to sacrifice ourselves for love – enlightened or not. Love sometimes takes guts. Maybe we become more willing victims when we have a little enlightenment. Or, that we don’t have enough enlightenment to protect ourselves from ourselves. Love sometimes takes intelligence. The difference between victims and heroes or heroines is spiritual purification. We have to know how to clean and balance the Energy Body with mind, earth, air, water, and fire practices. Then we also have the problem of being victims, willing or not. ..continued on page 5

Perhaps unwilling victims are also heroes and heroines, even if they are not trying to be loving. And willing or unwilling, maybe we are still paying some karmic debts and moving toward heaven even if we don’t realize it. Love brings us benefit even if it is totally unconscious. At some point we just have to relax and remember who we are to get the benefit or to enjoy the benefit of our good works. And it is good to stay focused on good works always. Good works makes life more satisfying and fun.Physical death is the great popular escape, but what does it accomplish? If we learned something the last time we went to heaven and reincarnated, why are we still so stupid? If reincarnation is better than the alternative of physical immortality, then why isn’t everyone perfect by now? Physical immortality is not for perpetual zombies, it is for juicy people who have a high quality mind and a high quality life. Luckily body mastery is achieved more by relaxation than by huffing and puffing.How do we make our body a conscious expression of the Spirit? How do we manifest the Infinite, Eternal Being of our Divine nature in our practical daily life? How do we make right choices that create a beautiful and peaceful life? How do we master youthing and perpetual health and vibrancy and radiant physical bodies? The answer is in the Space between our thoughts – eternally listening – to ourselves, to God, to the Scriptures – all of them, and to others. On my first trip to India, I met a very great yogi who could heal 5000 people in one day. At the end of the day medical doctors would examine his body and tell him that he had the sickest body they had ever seen in their career. And they told him he couldn’t possibly live for 24 hours. He told them to come back and bury him in 24 hours. When they returned he was reexamined and the doctors told him he had the healthiest body they had ever seen in their careers. He was a very powerful dude and was given the gift by the heavenly establishment to do the feeding of the 5000 miracle twice per year. My friends and I got to witness one of these on Dec 26, 1977. We stayed in the kitchen watching those pots. And indeed , they never got empty. This very great yogi didn’t believe in physical immortality and he wasn’t open to Rebirthing. He was so fascinated by us Rebirthers however, that he came to spend several weeks with a group of us in California. As a result of our presence his birth trauma came to the surface and he became nonfunctional and wasn’t able to attend a very important ceremony we had planned for him. He was nonfunctional for several days, rather than clearing it in a 2 hour breathwork session. He didn’t have the humility to learn from others, especially younger Westerners. The mind can trap us in our stuff. He has since died. He told us something very valuable. He said that without mantra yoga combined with Rebirthing, Rebirthing would be just a passing fad. I explained that the science of affirmations was a very enlightened form of mantra yoga. There is nothing wrong in mastering a Sanskrit mantra and I learned this practice of affirmation also. However, I discovered through the years that even Rebirthing and mantra is not enough. Most Rebirthing communities have disappeared as well as my great yogi friend. What I learned is that a little knowledge or partial knowledge is a dangerous thing. No one

Safe and Immortal in NYC, Music & Mantra, by Peace Arnold

Spiritual practice is the care of our energy bodies on all levels; from the physical, mental, emotional levels to the most subtle energetic forces moving through us and out into the cosmos. Mantra, traditionally the repetition of the names of God, is the use of sound, or frequency, to set the tone, vibration, or "Word" at cause in your creation, which is your Life. A more well known form of Mantra in the western culture is Music. About 11 years ago I found myself taken over by a continuous stream of thought about all the pain, suffering, and heartache I had ever experienced and all the places in the world reflecting these aspects of life. While the observer in me, well aware of its impact on my health and well being, wanted to shift it, the momentum behind it seemed unstoppable. At one point a voice within me rose up over the noise and said, " Sing!" That week I joined the Interfaith choir at One Spirit Learning Alliance and in a few short weeks shifted my world considerably. Singing is a powerful way to shift our minds and influence our creations. The level of intensity found in "big city" environments requires ways that meet the challenges presented by this intensity. Singing mantra is one of the ways that has served me well. What is the inner soundtrack of your life? The purpose of spiritual practice is the care of the human body, mind, and spirit and includes the acknowledgment and care of the soul. It is a natural part of daily life and living. It clears metabolic waste from our living energy systems and puts us back into conscious alignment with our natural divinity and connection to Infinite Intelligence at the very core and source of our being. I have made and continue to make shifts as the layers of "old news" and bad programing purge themselves from my "bodies". It is an ongoing process just as life is an ongoing process. Practices with Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Mind, and Love (mantra being a Spiritual Practice of Mind and Mindfulness), support this purging. Some call them Spiritual Purification Practices. On the more traditional path there is a great abundance available to discover about Mantra. But, don't just read about it. The benefit is in the doing; in the practice. - listening to wise people, even if they are members of our family. And of course, listening to our Divine Source. The basic practices with mind, earth, air, water, fire,, and loving, wise spiritual community seems to be a minimum to keep us conscious and awake. Spiritual community can help us to see and heal our blind spots. Loving and wise talented, intuitive people are a perpetual and infinitely valuable support. And of course having an abundant source of divine friends can make eternity a lot more fun. Ever notice that others can see our stuff easier than we can? Or that we can see others stuff quicker than we can see our own? The valuable thing I learned from his comment is noticing that too many rebirthing communities did disappear like a passing fad. When I looked deeper I saw what was happening. When people do their ten sessions with a high quality Breathworker, they get high and healthy. They also get more sensitive. When they get overwhelmed by other people’s pain and emotional energy pollution they disappear into hopelessness. And who can bring them out of it? If they don’t have a spiritual community with super enlightened friends, they or we, just drown in the world – and die like ordinary zombies. Unfortunately. Spiritual enlightenment and cleanliness can be temporary. On the physical level we would never think that one good meal is enough. But on the spiritual level, people try to live off of one great spiritual experience forever. Even God likes constant entertainment. Are we it? So the point is that before Rebirthing-Breathwork, people were used to living in pain and struggle. But after feeling bliss, super health for a while and becoming more sensitive, returning to their former state of unconscious struggle feels like hell on earth. And it was before also, but before rebirthing it was normal. Now it is not normal, but if they don’t know enough about spiritual purification they collapse into hopelessness. Fire is as important as food. Fire purification can restore the power in the breath. Fasting also can restore our power and aliveness. Therefore, fasting one day per week is like real life insurance. The point is that nothing by itself is the secret. We require a balance of spiritual practices that actually work. All of Life and all people in our lives can play a role in our eternal entertainment and spiritual growth. To achieve heaven on earth, a successful Rebirthing organization, or even a One Year Seminar group takes intelligent, spiritually mature people. Rebirthing spiritual communities have to be totally together not only with mantra, but with the basic science of spiritual purification with mind, earth, air, water, fire, and loving support on a weekly or monthly basis. We have to know how to clean and balance our Energy Body – our Soul. We can create spiritual communities that are ever expanding in quality as well as quantity, until the Kingdom of God breaks up and transforms the kingdoms or governments of this world and replaces them with the Kingdom of God, which is the Kingdom of truth, simplicity, and love. This is the basic prophesy of the Bible and all great Scriptures. Spiritual communities that are not expanding tend to be swallowed by the world. They disappear. Rebirthing communities expand in some cities, and disappear in others. Someone has to care. We live in the age of multiple careers. We all have to master the careers of truth teacher, self- employed business or professional person, community leader or politician, etc. The economic health of a nation is determined by the ratio of self -employed people, because the self-employed employ the rest of the people. And we have to have a money system that is owned and operated of the people, by the people, and for the people. It took the Bank of England, which financed the Revolutionary War against the USA, 200 years to conquer the country. But now we in the USA are all the slaves of the English bankers, just as Thomas Jefferson warned. The founding fathers got rid of the first national bank in 1814. The second national bank was destroyed by President Andrew Jackson in 1836. Now we have to get rid of the third national bank, called the Federal Reserve Bank, if we desire to get our freedom back. -the federal government, but many aspects of U. S. citizens’ lives. These bankers have designed the economy to enrich themselves and keep the 99% poor and in debt to them forever. As long as we stay stupid, maybe we deserve this bondage. Our political apathy can keep us in poverty forever. China has the most prosperous economy on earth, because the government owns the banks, instead of the banks owning the government, as is the reality in most Western countries. Most Christian countries have more banks than churches. Obviously something wrong here. But as long as China has taxes, it is still an oppressive country. Abe Lincoln gave the money printing power back to the people, but U.S. citizens and our elected representatives not only in Congress, but at all levels of government are so ignorant about money, we lost this money printing power again in 1913 to the bankers. It actually took the bankers until the 1970’s to totally control the money printing power. Lincoln’s United States Notes were still being printed into the 1930’s. Eisenhower and Kennedy almost gave this power back to the people again during their reign, but not enough citizens supported them. Since the 70’s, the bankers have tightened the noose around the necks of all U.S. citizens. We pay them over 20% of our wages every week. And the bankers have run up the national debt so that it can never be repaid and consumes all our income tax money as interest on the national debt. We pay our taxes to the bankers, not for government expenses. The banker’s media tell us we are free, because as long as we believe we are free, they can depend upon our ignorance and apathy. This may be the most important issue of our generation in addition to practical spiritual education. No U. S. President has the courage to oppose them. They know what happened to JFK. We have to master both ends of spiritual and material civilization and education. The paradox of the 1% and the 99% goes on. It is obvious that 99% of the 1% that are winning the money game don’t care about the people that aren’t winning. The excuse for their callousness is that everyone can learn how to invest in the stock market and win the money game. So the ignorant people are just punishing themselves if they stay ignorant and poor, the rich people tell themselves. This is a tragedy because it is the 99% that are supporting the 1% through their work and their consumption. It is just common sense to realize that consumers require and deserve a regular supply of money, based upon our total production and consumption to enable the economy to function as it should. Consumers keep the rich in business and are the source of their profits. So the rich are idiots also. Money is not wealth. Ideas, goods, and services are wealth. Farmers are the basis of any healthy economy and society. And consumers with money support the producers of all kinds of wealth. Without labor producing things, money becomes worthless because there is nothing to buy. The 1% may think that they are happy, but without a practical experience of eternal life with spiritual purification, it is superficial and leads to hell on earth as well as after. I have a friend who has over 100 million dollars. He doesn’t practice charity, but he feeds hundreds of families by creating jobs. He doesn’t finance other businesses, because he feels it involves responsibility to make the other businesses successful, and he is killing himself making his own businesses successful. His method of charity; creating jobs, earns him some points in the heavenly establishment. In the big scheme of things, spending our love – life energy - is called loving service. If we spend it in a way that yields enough money to support ourselves in rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation practices then this is wise. - heal burnout, then we are poor indeed. We have set ourselves up for at least another temporary hell. What is wrong with having a rational money system based on a logical and orderly flow of money to everyone that actually enables our economy to work? All participants in an intelligent money system deserve a regular supply of money to allow any money system to actually work as a means of exchange. Is there actual spiritual enlightenment without responsibility for money and economics? Obviously not, if we like to eat food.

Obviously, responsibility for the money system is indicated if we like shelter, clothes, and transportation, etc. The stock market actually is a democratic money system that is owned and operated by the participants. We can also organize governments to operate on the same as the stock market principles and eliminate oppressive taxes. A rational money system would distribute a monthly supply of money to every citizen based upon actual production and consumption, so that we can exchange what we produce with each other. What’s the big deal? Let’s get money our of the dark ages into the space age and into the computer age. Is there real spiritual enlightenment without conscious economics? Or is their spiritual enlightenment without conscious adequate citizenship participation? We have a republican democracy, or at least the basic form of it. What Is missing is us – our participation. We only have to find out who our elected representatives are and communicate with them once per month to educate them. And of course we have to educate ourselves, or at least think enough to know what is truly important in life so that we can educate our elected representatives. This is where it starts and ends. Do we deserve democracy or do we deserve what our banker masters have created for us and are planning for us? Is heaven a better place than earth? Then why did God create earth? A friend of mine says, “The earth is beautiful, the earth really is heaven and everyone who doesn’t figure this out has to leave. “ Is doing nothing in continuous bliss better than participating in the human drama, in spite of its pain and dangers? Does the soul take care of the body or does the body take care of the soul? What’s obvious is the souls are not doing a very good job of taking care of the bodies. And it is these same unconscious souls that are not listening to their bodies. Psychologists say we have 50,000 thoughts per day in the mind. Biologists say that the body thinks over a billion thoughts every second. So our body is over a thousand times smarter than our mind. How can we catch up? Obviously, it is time to start listening. We all can use more silence and solitude in our lives. On the material level, we are already in heaven on earth, what is missing is the spiritual dimension. We have many paradoxes and potentials. I have been working real hard for the last 20 years along with millions of other enlightened people to prevent the earth changes predicted before 2012. Even Bhartriji predicted that 90 % of the people would be destroyed by 2010. The book with his predictions in it was burned when the home it was kept in burned to the ground a few years before 2010. This was an encouraging sign to me at the time. We are still under pressure to complete what we have started. We already have heaven on earth materially. We still have to educate and heal a lot of people and complete our own healing process. We have to get our neighbors and countries together spiritually and mentally. The Rebirthing Breathwork movement and the 9 Day training is brilliant at healing the death urge in people. I got a letter from Babaji this week saying that I have to rest more. I agree. I was planning to take 2013 off and relax, with the exception of my annual trainings in Sierraville, CA, Spain, and Brazil, if the world doesn't end this year. But to do this requires support from my friends. What may work is to do only one 9 Day training per month in Virginia at the RBI training center, starting the first weekend of every month. I would love it if you all would support enrollment in these trainings and enroll yourself. Several people have done the 9 Day several times; a few, dozens of times, and a few over 100 times. One who did it over 100 times is here with me in Brazil, just said, "I always learn something new and very valuable." All I can tell you is that the people who do it over and over really make their lives work. Including me, I have practiced the 9 Day every week since 1981 when I created it. 30 years times 52 weeks per year is 3080 times. It sure works for me. It keeps me happy, healthy, and full of peace and energy and creativity. ‘Spiritual purification’ are two mighty magic words. Reviewing it may be a very wise choice and investment of time and money for you. During the first 2 decades of my Rebirthing career I took a year off every seven years to do spiritual purification and practiced as much solitude as possible. But for the last 2 decades I didn't because of the pressure of 2012. I now feel that we are rapidly moving into the age of truth and that a significant % of the population are already living in peace and heaven on earth, even though we can't tell it by the quality of the United States presidential candidates. I have never seen such a bunch of jerks. I also desire your financial support until we have a rational money system. I am very thankful for the few people that have supported me with gifts since the beginning of the movement. This has meant a lot. If you like sending gifts to me personally, it is tax-free income and makes my life simple. It is ok to also send your gifts to Rebirth International. They then lift the training center responsibility from me. And if your one time or monthly gifts are over $10,000 per year, it is best to send them to Rebirth International. When the IRS disappears these concerns will be unnecessary. Scheduling a training the first of every month in Virginia covers all of the bases. If gifts aren't sufficient, we may still be able to survive, especially if you all come to a training or retreat and enroll others. It also gives me the rest of the month to do catch up, if necessary. Please assist in getting the word out that I will be there all next year for at least one 9 Day Training every month. Obviously, if enough of you start sending gifts now, that I will put in a special account, and it is sufficient, I will rest easier. I also may work in a few countries or places to keep the quality of our work moving next year, but plan to keep it to a minimum. Hopefully, we have enough certified Rebirther Breathworkers to do the job. There is so much opportunity seeking leadership in our movement. I wish more of you would fill the calling. Since the first year, 1974, I have always maintained a full time training and healing center 24/7 for people desiring training and healing whether they paid or not. This is still true and will be in 2013. Hopefully I will be one of those beneficiaries. With your generosity this is possible. It has happened in the past. I am a good receiver of love and healing as well as money. One of the definitions of prosperity consciousness is the ability to create income out of nothing. At one time I was a multimillionaire, but I chose to give it all away to practice this definition and to use all my extra income for the healing of others. Sometimes I create income faster than I can spend it and create extra reserves, but usually I manage to spend it all every month and start over every month. The training center can always use improvements. One year in 1985 I lived almost completely on gifts. 2013 would be a good year to do it again. I have started the process of refinancing the training center real estate, to make it easier next year. But if enough large gifts come in fast enough this won't be necessary. I am in brazil for the rest of April, then I stop in Argentina for a few days to meet with the Rebirthing Breathworkers there on the way home. I will be in the USA until August. Then the big month in Spain, then Portugal, Germany, eastern Spain, Hungary, Greece, and Tenerife before home again in November. I look forward to seeing everyone in Virginia next year. Giving and Receiving, by Sara Dawn

When I have something to celebrate in my life, I often feel like giving something to the people who matter to me most in the world... I love giving from the heart, as much as I love receiving! I've noticed in myself and in others, that it can often be uncomfortable or a bit of a struggle to feel good about giving or receiving. Here's a thought I created to help with this: "My giving and receiving energies are now balanced and harmonized." The ability to give and receive is so vitally important in every aspect of our lives. In relationships and with finances this is obvious. If we are not comfortable with

giving or receiving, the flow of energy, life, and money will be stopped. If we are blocked with giving or receiving in our relationships, there is really no one there for our partner or friend to relate to! Giving and receiving means fully showing up in our lives, and knowing that we matter... knowing that we are valuable and worthy enough to receive goodness into our lives, and knowing that our contributions and gifts to others are valuable and worth giving. If we are blocked with giving in our work or business, we may not be contributing the real value and richness that clients and customers will come back for over and over again. If we are unable to receive, well, we will just be poor! Giving and receiving can affect our health as well. When we are comfortable with receiving and asking for what we want or need, we can allow more good things and aliveness to flow into our personal experience. When we know our valuableness, our ability to create, and have a high self-worth, we give easily and contribute in positive ways. This feels good, and lowers stress levels. Relaxation enables our bodies to heal faster and more effectively. One of my favorite quotes from Leonard is, "Relaxation and dis-ease cannot exist in the same space”. Many years ago I made an agreement with myself to authentically express my love, appreciation, admiration, and respect to people in the moment that I felt it. Doing this has radically changed my life. It is easy to generate feelings of love, wholeness, and oneness, when we recognize it, acknowledge it, and express it when we feel it! ....continued on page 14.

Self Love, by Elvi Orr

I was inspired to study the importance and benefits of self-love when I read in one of Vladimir Levi’s books the following sentence, ”If you are going to do any kind of self-improvement, you have to start with self-love”. That really got my attention. Vladimir Levi is a Russian psychotherapist, author and has many other talents. He became my first spiritual teacher through his books. I have never met him in person. Definition of self-love: self-acceptance and self-approval at all times. Really, we are acknowledging our Divinity at all times and accepting that the human experience doesn’t require us to be perfect, but does require us to be willing to keep growing and evolving. Self-love does not mean that we approve of or indulge in the negative things we do, our weaknesses or mistakes. But it does mean accepting them as something that has happened or is happening in the present. The present moment already is as it is – why fight it? We need to be aware of something first, before we can do anything about it. We also need to have compassion for ourselves, as well as for other people. We are not our behavior, but we are responsible for our actions. When we stay rooted in the awareness of ourselves as Divine Beings, it is easier to accept and embrace our human side and work with it. Self-approval helps us feel more and more comfortable with ourselves, so much so that we become more relaxed, willing and able to notice and admit our mistakes and turn them into learning and growing experiences. It helps us break free from living from the ego: justifying and defending ourselves, attacking, blaming, etc. We are talking about spontaneous, genuine self-love, the one that little children embody best. Healthy children, before they become conditioned by parents, teachers and others, utterly adore and enjoy themselves – their way of thinking and doing things, their body, mind and spirit. Have you noticed? They have self-esteem that can sometimes intimidate adults. It is because they haven’t learned to criticize and judge themselves yet, or compare themselves to others in a way that is emotionally threatening. They still have a sacred relationship with themselves as unique individuals, as Divine Human Beings. The first part of the definition; self-acceptance, is just making peace with what is. There is a saying that when you are fighting against the present moment (against what is), you are fighting against the whole universe. The second part of the definition – self-approval – can also be seen as acknowledging and appreciating God’s creation that you are. We live in the world of opposites. You can look at what is good, pay more attention to the things that are going well in your life or you can choose to pay attention to what you consider negative. We need to deal with reality, but remember that where attention goes, the energy flows. Energy becomes what it thinks about, as Leonard Orr puts it. The more you approve of different aspects and characteristics of yourself and what is pleasing in your life, the more of it you will find and the better it will make you feel. And then, only more of the good can come to you. A good practice is to decide to stop complaining in your mind and out loud. It can change your life. You can train yourself to create a much more pleasant inner dialogue. continued on pg 17.

When you catch a negative thought and stop it on its tracks, something else will pop up in your mind. We can eliminate the weeds of limiting, negative or complaining thoughts – one at a time, by paying attention and choosing something else. It’s really not that difficult, we are practicing our power to choose. What are you going to choose? We can really respect and honor other people if we can respect and honor ourselves first. Self-resentment is one of the most disturbing and repelling vibrations that can be felt in another person’s energy field. It includes frustration and sometimes hatred, and it can have a lot of sabotaging potential – directed inward as well as outward. When we are in a state of self-acceptance and self-appreciation, it brings about a feeling of well-being, peace and satisfaction. That satisfaction shouldn’t be interpreted as narcissism. (Actually, we are most egocentric when we are stuck.) It doesn’t mean that we no longer want to evolve or grow, nor does it mean that we don’t want to see our faults or whatever there is to improve in ourselves and our life. I have found that, on the contrary, the energy that before was locked in the negativity of emotions and general attitude, has now been released. More space has been created in our mind, emotional mind and energy field, and we therefore have the conditions to feel eager to move forward. Negativity is heavy and draining, especially if it is constant – when we feel stuck with it. When you are most of the time satisfied with who you are (with your strengths and weaknesses), you no longer need to compete with others, compare yourself with them so much or try to sabotage them (even just in your thoughts) in order to feel better about yourself. That liberation is possible because of the peace you have inside. A person filled with harmony emits harmony – how could it be otherwise? Therefore - true, natural and spontaneous self-love should never be mixed up with arrogance. Arrogance can be defined as the effort to cover up low self-esteem with fake high self-esteem. The words ‘effort’ and ‘fake’ are important. Low self-esteem always means that there is self-resentment involved, which is a form of hatred. It is easy to see that arrogance is the opposite of genuine self-love. Genuine self-love is harmless for yourself and others. Love is the highest vibration and when we have it for ourselves first, it can only grow and expand from there. ~Elvi Orr d

The facilities of an old mill restored with noble materials (stone and wood) offer, under their natural conditions and great beauty, a high telluric energy level and a non-polluted environment. El Molino is about 100 km from Sevilla. Sevilla has an international airport. There are 2 buses per day from Seville to Aracena (one hour trip, it is the bus witch goes to Portugal)) at 9am and 4pm, you have to take the bus from “plaza de armas” in the centre of Seville. You might have to take a taxi from Seville’s airport to Plaza de Armas. You also can fly to Madrid and catch a train from Madrid to Seville.
