SPRING 2020 2
OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
The purpose of this guide is to provide parents with guidance and expectations during
this time of distance learning.
We hope to provide academic practice to our students and stability to their families.
EXPECTATIONS
Students will complete daily assignments and activities. In order to receive credit,
parents will send a picture of the completed checklist on each packet to their child’s
teacher when the packet has been completed. You can send this via email, text, Re-
mind, DoJo, etc. Your child’s teacher will let you know what means of delivery they
prefer.
Parents and students will receive additional suggestions for extended learning on the
front cover of the weekly packet and in a separate packet that will cover all of our dis-
tance learning time. It is suggested that they complete at least one activity each day.
HOW TO PICK UP WORK
Parents will be able to pick up student packets for distance learning on Mondays from
9:00 am-12:00 pm at Primary, Dunbar, or High School. Each site will have all grade
level packets so parents may go to the site that is most convenient for them.
Please be prepared to provide the name and grade of the student(s) you are picking
up a packet for. We will be tracking this information for reporting purposes.
At the Primary site we will have basic supplies for students to use at home until those
supplies are depleted.
Online learning platforms are also available for those who have internet access. Par-
ents may contact Mrs. Neal ([email protected]) or the classroom teacher to
gain access.
Delivery of packets is available if parents make arrangements by calling the front of-
fice at 918-758-2030.

HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH MY CHILD’S TEACHER(S)
Teachers will have virtual office hours from 1:00-4:00 pm Monday-Thursday every
week. During this time your child may get assistance from the teacher and you will be
able to ask questions you may have. Your child’s teacher will let you know which vir-
tual platform he/she will be using. This may include but is not limited to: Facebook
messenger, text message, phone call, email, Remind, DoJo.
Please contact your child’s teacher if another time needs to be arranged.
Teachers will also be making contact with you a minimum of once per week.
HOW TO RETURN COMPLETED WORK
There will be a checklist of assignments/activities included on the front of each pack-
et; please initial in the box if your child completes that assignment. Parents will send
a picture of the completed checklist to their child’s teacher at the end of each week.
The teacher will let you know how to send that to him/her.
Returning this signed checklist will ensure your child received credit for completed
assignments/activities.
