The YMCA of Saskatoon is an important multi-service charitable organization founded in 1908. It is an association of people dedicated to improving lives and by serving community needs.

Child MindingWe know it’s difficult to find time for yourself when you have the responsibility of taking care of a little one. To help you stay active and healthy, the YMCA provides free Child Minding (CM) for our members for children aged 6 months – 12 years. If you have a child who is younger than 6 months and you would like to use the CM service, please contact Jamie at 306-652-7515 ext.259. This is a drop in service. To maintain an appropriate staff to child ratio we use a point system with a maximum of 15 points. If you have any questions regarding the point system, please ask one of our Child Minders or at Member Services Desk. Please make sure to read all CM rules on the door before using the service. It is played in a swimming pool with snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, and fins). The goal of the game is to maneuverer (by carrying and passing) a slightly negatively buoyant ball from one side of a pool to the other by players who are completely submerged underwater. Scoring is achieved by placing the ball (under control) in the gutter on the side of the pool. Children & Youth Programs

CHILD & YOUTH FITNESS A Fun Way to Learn! Why kids should be involved in programming?

At the YMCA of Saskatoon, we have Children’s Programs running almost every day of the week. From swimming, to soccer to fitness classes, whatever your child is into we have it! We believe that everyone should be involved, especially children, as it helps with feelings of belonging, forms connection, builds relationships, and improves a person's perception of themselves. Getting children involved early and frequently helps them develop their social skills, develops gross and fine motor skills, and improves their self confidence. Children who are involved in recreation and leisure at a young age are more inclined to do so when they are in their teens and beyond! Active now equals active for life.

Are YMCA programs right for your child? - Does your child enjoy hanging out and having fun?- Does your child like science, experiments, and building?- Is your child highly active?- Does your child prefer more calming activities?- Does your child like being creative? If you answered yes to any of the questions above, one of these YMCA programs is right for them!

Working out as a Y Kid!WHEN I AM... 6 years & under I can:• participate in YMCA programs like

STEM or Soccer• participate in YMCA swim lessons

12+ years & older I can: 7-11 years old I can:• swim in the pool while my parents

are working out• attend kids classes

• parcticpate inYMCA programs• be unsupervised in the building
