Last month the car franchise, the Hendy Group, decided to withdraw from the hire market to pay more aenon to their dealerships. Aſter an in-depth review between the Hendy Group and SHB it was agreed SHB would aquire the contract and flexi hire element of Hendy hire from 1 April 2014. This new venture has seen us take on an extra 600 vehicles largely including LCVs, cars and HGVs, as well as the ap- propriate Hendy Hire customers based naonwide. This acquision has seen our fleet grow to circa 11,500 vehicles which will be managed by our head office in Romsey as well as our 14 naonwide depots. One of our golf buggies was featured on the ITV programme Dancing on Ice last month. Royal Warrant... We are pleased to announce we were awarded a royal warrant for the supply, repair and maintenance of buggies to the Queen. Hendy Group Eastleigh Events... Make sure to keep an eye out for SHB at Plantworx and Geotechnica. We’ll also be exhibing at numerous events over the coming months. New to the fleet... Ranger/Hilux special highway support vehicle. New improvements made to our service desk As part of our connuous development and following customer feedback we have changed the way we manage our maintenance events. As of 28 April acvity has been split into two areas: proacve for planned maintenance and reacve for unplanned work and breakdowns. All teams are staffed by skilled industry professionals with extensive mechanical and compliance knowledge ensuring the correct and most effecve acon is taken. The number for in and out-of-hours queries has remained the same (01794 511458) but customers will now be directed to an automated service ensuring calls are dealt with quickly and efficiently, however, customers sll have the opon to speak with recepon if preferred. This new system lets you select opons without having to go through the main menu each me. We would like to apologise for any disrupon in service levels you may have experienced over the past six months. He began his career at Bradshaws where he went on to set up the Club- card Membership as Sales Director for the company. Aſter leaving Bradshaws Tony set up his own company, Golfcourt Market Place, before starng at SHB. Tony had a short lived career as a professional footballer be- fore an injury forced him into early rerement. SHB need volunteers to help raise money for Help For HeroesWe are supporting two charities throughout 2014, Help for Heroes and Can-
cer Research. We have organised a depot-to-depot challenge between 13-14 September 2014 for Help for Heroes and we want YOU to take part.We will be running, cycling and/or rowing the distance between our 14 nationwide depots, that’s 1500 miles altogether, phew! But don’t worry, distances have been split up taking into account each depot’s size and staffing but we can’t do it alone, we want YOU to help us.
Not only are we looking for sponsorship but we also want our cus-tomers to physically join in. SHB staff have already signed up and now
it’s your turn, whether it’s a 5K run or a mini triathlon we want YOU to help us raise £5000 so we can show our support for all the amazing things this charity stands for. All distances will be measured by a team of invigilators located at each depot and we are in the process of contacting some high profile gyms nationwide in a bid to use their facilities. If you want to work up a sweat and raise some money or just want to sponsor us please con-tact your Account Manager or the Tenders and Communications Team on [email protected]
We will be supplying Help For Heroes with 7 vehicles for this years’ Hero RideOver 2000 bike riders will take part in one of six pre-organ-ised routes across the country before converging in London on 8 June in a bid to raise over £1.5m for wounded service-men, women and veterans. SHB will be providing an array of vehicles in support of the event that will take place between 31 May to 9 June. The range of six seater transits, minibus and tail lift will be used to help transfer luggage and for general support purposes.Our Commercial Director, Nicky Simpson, along with two other memebers of SHB, will be taking part in the last leg of the race riding the 10 miles from Blackheath to London.Make sure to check our next edition to see how they got on.
