REPORT ON AUTOINDIA RACING CHAMPIONSHIP -2018

(Go-Kart Event)

SRTTC's Go-kart Team " TEAM AGNEYA RACING" has participated in AUTOINDIA

RACING CHAMPIONSHIP (AIRC) 2018 held at at PCNTDA Traffic Park, Pune during 17th

to 20th February 2018. Total 36 teams from all over India has participated in this event.

Our SRTTC team (Team AGNEYA) consists of 20 members with 2 Faculty Advisors. The team

performed well in this event and reached in qualifier round.

The team performance in this event is as follows along with task details:

1. Technical Inspection Round: In this task, the technical parameters of the kart

are checked by the inspection team. The inspection consists of checking Kart

dimensions, Track width and track length, Engine specification, rule book

configuration and technical quiz. This task is successfully cleared by team in first

attempt.

2. Brake test: In this test, brakes of kart were checked for 30 m running distance

and 10 m braking distance. This test is cleared in 3rd attempt.

3. Acceleration Test: In this test, kart is checked for its maximum speed. This

task is also successfully cleared by team in first attempt. Team covered the

specified distance of 30 m in only 6.16 sec.

4. Figure of 8 Test: In this test, a kart has to be driven along 8-shaped track in

single lap. Team Cleared this test in 17.17 sec without any penalty.

5. Auto Cross test: In this test, kart has to drive in zigzag path avoiding the

various obstacles. Team Cleared this test in 14.62 sec without any penalty.

6. Qualifier Round: Team reached in qualifier round by successfully clearing above all test. But

as they selected only first 10 teams for final endurance, we are not reached in final endurance

round.

SRTTC SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE CLUB

Date: 28/09/2017

The SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE CLUB was inaugurated in Suman Ramesh

Tulsiani Technical Campus, Khamshet, Pune on 28th September, 2017 in Shri.

Shripad Mukund Kuvelkar Hall. The club is inaugurated with vision to create

engineers having skills and confidence to become the pioneers of tomorrow.

The Inauguration ceremony began with the certain raising of SRTTC SAEINDIA

Banner by Chief Guest Mr. Narahari P. Wagh, Secretary, SAEINDIA Western

Section and Guest of honour Mr. Sagar Murugkar, Assistant Manager,

SAEINDIA Western Section in the presence of Dr. H.G. Phakatkar, Principal,

Suman Ramesh Tulsiani Technical Campus, Prof. K. S. Tapaskar, Vice

Principal, Prof. Y. R. Ingole, Head, Department of Mechanical engineering, Prof.

Lokesh R. Dhumne, Faculty Advisor & SAE Coordinator and Mr. Akshay Tavse,

Chair person, SRTTC SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE Club.

Mr. Akshay Tavse gave introduction about SRTTC SAEINDIA COLLEGIATE

Club. Chief Guest Mr. N. P. Wagh sir addressed the students in his typical style

and motivated them to become a technically strong engineer with social

responsibilities. Mr. Sagar Murugkar sir gave an excellent presentation over

various activities and events of SAE. SRTTC Principal Dr. H.G. Phakatkar

shared valuable words with the gathering and felicitated BAJA Team 2016,

BAJA Team 2017, Gokart Team Agneya Racing for their participation in the

activities. He also felicitated SRTTC’s new team of Gokart i.e. Team Agneya

Racing 2.0 and TIFAN team i.e. Team Agronic for their preparation for events.

Vote of thanks is proposed by Prof. Yogesh P. Bhatt. The ceremony was

officially closed by singing the National Anthem.

2018. The virtual round for this event is organized at Chitakara Universuty, Ludhiana, Punjab in

the month of July 2017. Total 387 teams from all over India has participated in this event. The

virtual round consists of presentation of design report of ATV vehicle for 15 minutes and two

surprise topics related to automobile sector over which students has to talk for 5 minutes each.

We Scored 213th Rank out of 387. Unfortunately our team does not qualified for SAEBAJA

Main Round but our team members get good experience. Team members will definitely give

their efforts to score and get qualified for main round next year.

EVENT OVERVIEW :

SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) is an international organization. Onbehalf of SAEINDIA, SAE India Off-highway board and Mahatma Phule KrishiVidyapeeth, Rahuri, organized the first ever student’s competition program named‘TIFAN’.

TIFAN stands for “Technology Innovation Forum for AgriculturalNurturing”.

The challenge for TIFAN competition was developing a self-propelledmachine for land preparation, Intercultural and Harvesting operation.

Off-highway board of SAE has initiated this competition targeted to solve thefarming challenges using mechanized solutions. It provides platform forconnecting the bright and prosperous engineering talent available in the countrywith the real life challenges of agriculture sector.

THE 2017 TIFAN CHALLENGE

‘SELF PROPELLED ONION HARVESTER’

• The TIFAN 2017 competition is designed to evolve around thetheme of challenges in the area of Onion harvesting and therebythe theme chosen for this year is “Self-Propelled OnionHarvester”.

• Team AGRONIC aims to conceive, design, and develop anddemonstrate a working level prototype of farm machine at thespecified venue with the laid down criteria and requirements givenin the rulebook.
