Currently, the world of street lighting is getting lost, as lighting for numbers in the terms of

illumination and uniformity, instead of lighting for eyes. The current lighting theory violates

two fundamental principles ——

• The excessive requirement for "Bat Wing" distribution violates the basic principles of ergonomics:

Ergonomic Interpretation: 45°is the glare cut-off angle, under which does not cause visual discomfort, and over

which will cause visual discomfort. When ayes feel glare, the pupil will contract, causing the luminous flux enters the

eye reduced.

The current practice: The uniformity standard calls for lights achieving "Bat Wing“ distribution, which requires the

peak beam of lights to be about 55°. This requirement directly causes discomfort and pupil contraction, hence causing

the human body to feel less light.

Result: Poor lighting effect, large amount of energy wasted.

• The uniformity lighting standards violate the reflection principle of basic physics： Physics principle: Angle of incidence = angle of reflection, Thus, uniform illumination level does not mean

visual uniform of brightness.

The current practice: All the efforts and energy are used to achieve uniform illumination, which does not lead to

uniform brightness felt by humans.

Result: Poor lighting effect, large amount of energy wasted.
