Part of our Ministry for many years is our blessed partnership with the FRESH MARKET on NE 4 Street & Federal Hwy. (down the street from St Anthony). FRESH MARKET graciously donates surplus or "short dated" baked goods, deli items and produce to social service local agencies to feed & distribute food boxes to those in need. The "logistics" of getting these goods to our local LIFENET4FAMILIES is where our Ministry helps. Currently we are scheduled to pick up Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays at 10am & deliver to LIFENET on Broward Blvd. The whole process takes about one hour. Our "Snowbirds" have left for the summer & we really need a few more parishioners to be oriented to even serve as ALTERNATES. So.... PLEASE contact me ASAP via [email protected] or C:954-448-3678. Stormy Schevis, Co-Chair Homeless Ministry
The first weekend of each month Saint Anthony Parish holds a food drive to help stock the shelves at Blessed Sacrament Church Food Bank. This food helps feed the less fortunate in our community. Non-perishable items are collected in the Loaves and Fishes box in the vestibule of the church. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
While it is still summer, plans are underway to begin the Saint Anthony Parish Religious
Education Program (PREP) in September! These sessions are for boys and girls in
Kindergarten (5 by 9/1) through junior high and high school on Sundays after the 9:00 a.m.
Mass. Parents are invited to contact the PREP office for information and registration
954-467-7749. If no one is in the office, just leave a message and your call will be
returned. These sessions offer parents an opportunity to build on the faith formation
of their child(ren) within the family.
Parents are the first and most important teachers of the faith! PREP supports their faith sharing!
In an effort to provide the fullness of preparation for the Sacraments of Eucharist (Holy Communion) and Confirmation there is a two year process involved! The first year involves information so that a foundation in faith is expanded. The following year builds on the first year and focuses on immediate preparation and reception of the sacrament. Information in the faith, formation in the faith offers the potential of a transformation in living and loving faith in the Lord through His gift of the sacraments! For details contact [email protected].
Adults who are considering the fullness of membership in the Church with the
reception of Baptism (if not yet received), First Eucharist (Holy Communion), and
Confirmation may consider inquiring about the way to move forward on a journey
in faith. Perhaps you are inquiring for yourself or a friend, just contact the parish
office 954-463-4614 or the PREP office 954-467-7749 for details. Information
about the informal summer meetings will be available at these numbers.
The sessions will begin in September on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
If you have considered becoming a lector (reader) at Mass, or to be an Extra- ordinary Minister of Holy Communion in Mass, to be an usher/collector in Mass, why not call the parish office 954-463-4614 or the prep office 954-467-7749 to find out more information about these volunteer opportunities?!? Everyone has some- thing to bring to the Lord in His service!
