Spiritual Corner Perseverance
“Before all this happens, however, they will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name. It will lead to your giving testimony. Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand, for I my-self shall give you a wisdom in speaking that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute. You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but not a hair on your head will be destroyed. By your perseverance, you will secure your lives.”
(Luke 21:12-19 )
The more we submit ourselves to God, the more we will see and experience personally God’s power and protection. We will no longer doubt nor intend to be our own master, but to totally hand ourselves over to God and let Him be our master. Since not even a hair on our head will be destroyed, will not our lives be under God’s protection?
Therefore, do not be deterred by external pressure and strikes, but, with perseverance, rely on God’s protection for your souls. To be able to suffer for God is the most precious gift and blessing from Him, for He is the most no-ble and honourable king and we are the people of the kingdom of Heaven.
God, my father, please give me the courage to suffer for your will, so that even fear cannot snatch my determination as I only live to glorify you. I believe that through the precious blood and the cross of your only Son Jesus Christ, I will undoubtedly be cured. I believe and trust in you, please heal me and release me. I believe that life can be elevated to a more sublime level, can surmount all difficulties, and I can lead a healthy, fruitful and victorious life, for we are your creation and your beloved children. You are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit who will live and be king forever and ever. Amen.

Federal Election Debate From A Catholic Perspective
On Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 7:30 p.m., the Archdiocese of Toronto will host a Federal Election Debate from a Catholic Perspective to help educate voters in advance of the October 21 vote. Offering Memorial Mass for the Departed on Chung Yeung Festival
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 1. The mass is intended for deceased family members and friends of our parishioners. Parishioners who wish to offer mass are requested to put down the names of the departed on the Memorial Register. A filled-out special envelope together with the offering should be dropped into the offering box.
Rosary & Candlelight Procession
The Rosary & Candlelight Procession will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 8:25p.m. following the Vespers, Benediction and Mass celebrating the Sacred Heart of Jesus which will start at 7:00p.m. Parishioners are encouraged to participate.
St. Michael’s College
The Office of Admissions of St. Michael’s College School is now considering applications for September 2020. St. Michael’s College School is Ontario’s only in-dependent Catholic school for young men from Grade 7 to Grade 12.
