Please turn to the back St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 Next Sunday last day to bring shoeboxes The mission of Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with local churches worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The tangible in Operation Christmas Child is a shoebox filled with small gifts and goodies to bring hope to a child whose life has been too often marked by heartache. As you’re filling your shoebox, please remember to pray for the child who will receive it. The last day for collection of shoeboxes is Sunday, Nov. 18. Because this is a national deadline, there can be no exceptions. Parish to serve at Common Ground Nov. 17 St. Andrew’s will serve at the Common Ground Free Store in Delaware next Saturday, Nov. 17. From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We’ll be serving a meal to shoppers and staffing the store. If you’re unable to come in the morning, please consider coming from 12:45 to 3 p.m. to help prepare the store for the next shopping day on the following Tuesday. Parish mourns death of Mother Nancy Stanton We’re sad to share with you news of the death on Thursday, Nov. 8, of Mother Nancy Stanton. Mother Nancy served our congregation first as a deacon at St. Matthew’s, was ordained to the priesthood here at St. Andrew’s in 2009, and served us in a pastoral care role until her retirement in 2012. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Grace Episcopal Church, 41 Bowman Street, Mansfield, Ohio. Please turn to the back 2018 pledge drive at $375,968 to date Seventy-three families have responded to the 2019 General Fund stewardship drive, pledging $375,968 as of this past Friday. Our goal is $458,000, which means we have $82,032 yet to raise. If you are among those who have not yet turned in your pledge card, please do so today so that the Vestry can finalize the 2019 budget. Thanks to all of you who have contributed to Christ’s mission here at St. Andrew’s! Welcome your new Vestry members Please welcome your new Vestry members, elected by the parish last Sunday. They are Jim Menke, Jim Oxenham, Eric Whitehead, and Pete Wilkinson. Jim Oxenham and Pete are new Vestry members, while Jim Menke returns for a second term, and Eric returns after a one-year hiatus. All will serve three-year terms, beginning in January 2019. Last Sunday’s All Saints procession brought out a bevy of superheroes, sports figures and other characters, from the creepy to the sweet to the angelic, and one very unique raspberry ghost. At right, children share treats with the congregation after hearing from Fr. Ron about the true meaning of All Hallows’ Eve.

Prayers for the ChurchAnglican Church in North America: Bishop Clark Lowenfield, his wife Tricia, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast.

In 2011, a group of churches from Texas and Louisiana began meeting together, seeking the Lord’s direction and plan regarding the formation of a future diocese. In June of 2012, the Anglican Diocese of the Western Gulf Coast was officially received as a Diocese in Formation by the ACNA Provincial Assembly. In 2013, it became a formal diocese and added churches from Arkansas to its community.

The diocese now has 17 parishes, 10 in Texas and seven in Louisiana. (Sources: Diocesan website and Wikipedia.)

Please pray especially for continued evangelism and church planting.

Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes: Fr. William Eavenson, Fr. Stockton Wulsin, the Rev. Barbara Wulsin, Deacon John Betz, and the people of Mission Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Parish Cycle of Prayer: Terry and Karolyn Yoakum; Steve and Jan Zacharias; the Sunday Morning Apostles small group; and Common Ground Free Store Ministries.

On this Veterans Day, please also pray for all the men and women who have served our country.

Prayer Service offered at noon every WednesdayA weekday Prayer Service is held in the Sanctuary at noon every Wednesday. Prayer is offered with special intention for our parish, the city, the state, the nation and the world, as well as for individual prayer needs. All are welcome!

Encouragement for your prayer time Safe in Jesus’ presence during prayer, allow your false self to fall away, so that your true self can emerge and be nurtured by him to grow. “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, … let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:19, 22) — From the St. Andrew’s Prayer Ministries Team

Today is the last day to sign up to volunteer, or to donate or prepare food. Sign-up sheets are available at the Information Desk in the Narthex.

Monetary donations toward food may be placed in one of the envelopes available in the pocket on the chair backs in the Sanctuary, and marked for “CGFS Food.” Checks with “CGFS Food” in the memo section may be placed in the offering basket.

For more information, please contact Diane Bobay at 614-846-6921 or [email protected], or Marty Scott at 614-284-0182 or [email protected].

The family will receive friends at Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, and at the church one hour before the service on Tuesday.

Please keep Mother Nancy’s family, including daughter Kiri Johnston, a former member of our parish, in your prayers as they mourn the loss of their beloved mother and grandmother. And also pray for Mother Nancy as she enters her new life in the near presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May her soul and the souls of all the saints rest in God’s peace, and may light perpetual shine upon her.
