Dear St. Bernard Parish Family,
On my one year anniversary to the permanent diaconate I wanted to express my gratitude to all of you and share some reflections on my experience as your deacon.
My first thought is of how thankful that I am for the tremendous support that you have all given Lynn and I. Throughout this last year we have tried to discern how we could best fulfill our role as the new deacon couple in the parish. You have all been very patient and support-ive. Personally, I am grateful for all of the positive affirmation as I began the process of learning how to preach, how to assist at Mass, how to lead the various prayer services, and how to administer the sacraments. What a blessing it has been to be at St. Bernard.
Over the last year, the greatest impression that has been made is how St. Bernard is a family. As I have gotten to know more people in the parish, through worship and service, I have developed a deeper appreciation for us as community. My prayer would be that this trend contin-ues and extends itself to all members of our parish community. I pray that under the guidance of the Holy Spirit our parish family grows closer and closer to each other and that out of that closeness flows a parish life that brings support to all of our members and glory to God.
Let’s continue to help each other live holy lives and draw closer to God. A Disciple with You, a Deacon for You, Deacon Bernie Terrien
Prayer from the First Apparition of the Angel at Fatima
My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You.
I ask pardon for those who do not believe, do not adore,
do not hope and do not love You. Pray in this way.
The hearts of Jesus and Mary are ready to listen to you.

Please remember to sign your children up for Religious Education before August so we have a better understanding of how many students will be in each grade at each time. If you’re wondering how you can get involved with volunteering at the parish while learning more about the Catholic faith at the same time, please consider helping our program by being a catechist or substitute.
