SAVE THE DATE VBS: VBS for our parish grouping will be held the week of August 5th - 9th in the mornings at St.

Bonaventure Parish. More information will be coming soon! We are in need of assistance with music, decorations, snacks, scripture, crafts, games and more. If you are interested in volunteering as a leader or helper please con-tact Bernadette Calvino at (312) 235-9674 [email protected] or Mary Ann Petrovich at (724) 443 - 9311 [email protected].

From the desk of the Administrator As a whole church we celebrate the great So-lemnity of Pentecost today, the birthday of the Church. So Happy Birthday everyone! You’re look-ing pretty good for being 1,986 years young! Best wishes too to our sisters and brothers in Millvale on their parish’s Name’s Day! Speaking of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, I failed to congratulate those who on May 21st re-ceived the gifts of the Spirit in the Sacrament of Con-firmation. Congratulations to our 82 young women and men from our four parishes. It was a wonderful celebration with Bishop Waltersheid presid-ing! Thanks to our parents, catechists, sponsors, musicians, and all who helped make the day possible and so beautiful! Perhaps the Spirit might inspire you, the reader, to become more involved in the life of our grouping. One of the greatest needs is the blessing we have with the Adoration Chapel at SBP. We are in need of more adorers. As I’ve said previously, I’d really like to have at least two non-related persons signed up for each hour period. I have asked SBP youth minister Jonah Soucy to take on oversight of adoration. If you are interested or have questions, contact him via phone at 412-486-2606 or email at [email protected]. A few months back our liturgical ministers re-ceived a survey from Terry Scheibel, the Music Di-rector in Millvale, who is working on his Lay Ecclesial Ministry certification as a Director of Worship. It was ascertaining your desire to continue ministry, add to your ministry, or decline ministering at this time. The purpose is to gather a database of our ministers so that possibly a central location for scheduling could be developed. You can reach Terry via email at [email protected] or the HSP Office at 412-821-4424 with questions or concerns. I appreciate your assistance in this process. Of course, if you are reading this and are interested in liturgical ministry, let Terry know that as well. We will be providing training on the local level in the fall. I have heard concerns about the changes to our grouping. I can assure you that Masses will still be offered at SNP. And yes, we will have to redistrib-ute our current Masses to assume St. Aloysius to our grouping. More on the later next week. There are more Ordination anniversaries to celebrate this week! Deacon Steve Kisak will cele-brate his 8th Anniversary on 11 June and Deacon Chuck Rhoads will celebrate his 6th anniversary on 15 June. Congratulations Deacons! May God grant them many more years of service!

See you in Church! Fr. Jim Gretz

THE WELCOME LITTLE ONE bassinet will remain in the church gathering space into June. Please help the babies and moms by donating clothing for infants to age three. Thank you!

PENTECOST SUNDAY JUNE 9, 2019

ALL SAINTS CHURCH will conduct our annual Summer Festival from Wednesday, July 17th to Saturday, July 20th, 2019. The festival always in-cludes good food, prizes and entertainment to sup-port the parish in this major fundraiser each year. We hope that many of our fellow parishioners will come and enjoy this wonderful event with us!

ALL SAINTS FESTIVAL BASKET RAFFLE: All Saints Church will host our annual summer festi-val July 17th – 20th. The basket raffle is a big attrac-tion and fundraiser created entirely based on dona-tions. Please consider donating either a complete basket or any new items, gift cards or money to help create a basket for our raffle. Donations should be brought to the All Saints rectory office M-F 8:00-4:00 before July 5th. Call April Miller @ 412-654-5485 if you have questions or need a donation picked-up.

ALL SAINTS LADIES OF CHARITY MEETING, Saturday, June 22, 2019 – 9AM. Interested ladies are always wel-come to join us to see if this service organ-ization is for you. We serve the poor, the needy, the sick, and the grieving in the

Spirit of St. Vincent DePaul, in Simplicity, Charity and Humility. Some of the ladies will attend mass at St. Nicholas in Millvale at 8am. A light breakfast will be served starting at 8:30 with the meeting starting at 9AM in the All Saints Activity Building. Hope to see some new faces! Thank you!

RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT: – After his resurrection from the dead Jesus appears to his anxious Apos-tles and, knowing their fear and un-certainty, pours forth the Holy Spirit upon them and bestows his gift of peace. For the next forty days he

promises that he will be with them always and that he will send the Advocate to be with them as they will be called to continue his work in the world. Finally, after ascending to heaven, Jesus sends forth his Spirit at Pentecost to fill the Apostles with confidence and courage in order to go out to all the world to tell the good news and grow the Church. As the On Mission for The Church Alive! initiative continues to unfold we are called to prayer for a new Pentecost in the Church of Pittsburgh. This new outpouring of the Holy Spirit can bestow the peace we seek in the midst of change and planning for the future. God’s Spirit can also fill us with the confidence and courage that all of us – clergy and faithful alike – will need to do our part to build up the Church and make it ever more alive! Visit onmis-sionchurchalive.org to learn more and to stay in-formed.

PRIESTHOOD ORDINATION: Celebrate with the entire Church of Pittsburgh as four men are ordained priests on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Paul Cathedral,

Pittsburgh. Please pray for Brendan Dawson, Timothy Deely, David Egan and Mingwei Li as they prepare for this joyous day on which they will become priests in service of our Church. More information is available at www.diopitt.org/events.

FESTIVAL OF PRAISE FOR VO-CATIONS: Sunday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM, St. Paul Seminary. Come to praise God for the four men to be ordained to the priesthood and the two men to be ordained to the transi-

tional diaconate! Bishop Zubik and Father Michael Ackerman will preside over a holy hour and time of adoration. Mirella Brun del Re will lead praise. There will also be opportunity for confession and a light re-ception.

BLESSED TRINITY ACADEMY’ GIFT CARD SALES: Need a gift card for the graduate? Stop by the gift card table after Mass today and pick up a gift card for that special graduate. We sell cards such as Target, Panera, Star-

bucks, Wal-mart and Visa, among many oth-ers. The gift card table is located in the back of church, and gift cards are sold after all weekend Masses. You can also stop by the BTA scrip office Monday through Friday from 8:00-10:00, or St. Bon-aventure gift card office on Fridays from 8:30-10:00 AM. BEGINNING THIS WEEK and during Blessed Trinity Academy's summer break, the gift card office will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30-11:30. Gift cards will also be sold at the St. Bona-venture gift card office on Fridays from 8:30-10:00 AM.

PARISH SHARE: The 2019 Parish Share Program has begun again in each Parish of our Diocese. Please help us to reach our goal as we share in the Lord’s work in our Diocese. This year we ask that you use the Pink Parish Share envelope included in your monthly packet of envelopes. Envelopes can be placed in any regular Sunday collection.
