HUMAN CONCERNS COMMISSION
Dear Lord, Hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need.
Remember Those Far From Home LCpl. Elijah Burgins Po3. John Castro
Pvt. Peter Eck Cpl. Peter Hinderer Sgt. Scott Majewski Afc. Jeremy McNeel Spc. Justin Pastirik Pfc. Joseph Pusateri Theodore Soupart
Let us remember and pray for those who are always in our hearts. If you have loved ones who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, please call the rectory at 847-437-6208 and we will add their names to our bulletin list. When your loved one has returned home, please let us know so we can remove their name from the list. Thank you.
As we hear the Gospel today we realize that sometimes we are like Simon as it’s far easier to see what is wrong in another than it is to see what is wrong in ourselves. But Jesus, who accepts the poor woman without judging or blaming her, show us what Christian love is all about.
Through your almsgiving you are performing a good work; far greater than you think. The coins placed in the St. Vincent de Paul Poor envelope bring Christ’s love and compassion to the poor.
MY BROTHER’S KEEPER MINISTRY

End Domestic Violence NOW!
Domestic Violence Hotline

St Vincent de Paul is an emergency source for food and short-term financial help for parishioners and those living within the parish boundaries. Please call 847-437-6208. Requests will be handled with care and confidentiality.
Help the Vulnerable: Urge Elected Leaders to Pass a State Budget
Every 30 seconds someone counts on Catholic Charities for help. We are now asking for your help. Please lend your voice to advocate for the State of Illinois to end its budget stalemate and pass a budget that cares for the poor and most vulnerable in our communities. Catholic Charities is currently owed more than $25 million by the State of Illinois a number that grows by at least $2 million per month. Please take time today to call your state elected officials with this simple mes-sage, I am a voter in your district. I am contacting you on behalf of the poor and vulnerable people who depend on our state’s safety net of human services, espe-cially the more than 1 million people served by Catholic Charities of the Arch-diocese of Chicago. If you do not know who your state representative and sena-tor are, please call the State Board of Elections at (217) 782-4141 or visit www.elections.il.gov and click on New District/ Official Search. You can find more information and a template advocacy letter at www.CatholicCharities.net on the homepage.

Keeping You Posted On the Search for the
next Pastoral Associate/DRE

We will bid farewell and express our gratitude to Mary Catherine at a reception after all the Masses on the last weekend of June. Join us.

A Special Person is Needed
We have been blessed for so many years to have someone take care of our Altar Linens each week. That has involved washing them, having a place for them to air dry, ironing as needed, and changing them. In most weeks the altar linens are changed twice; once on Saturday before the weekend Masses and once on Monday, if it’s needed (wine spill, etc. from theweekend Masses).
Caring for the linens used for the celebration of the Eucha-rist is a very unique role. It’s not just a task that needs to be done; it’s a task that connects us in a special way to the Sacrifice of the Mass and the Body of Christ. It’s a rare opportunity to be of service to all those who are fed at this Table of the Lord. I know there are many people who do not feel called to “active ministry” by being a Lector or Communion Minis-ter or Altar Server or member of the Choir. Perhaps this role which can be done on your own time in your own home and that is important and essential to our celebration of the Mass each day is a way that you would like to con-tribute. Ideally, there would be 2 or 3 people who would take on this task so it would not have to be done every week to allow for vacation time away, etc. Please call Carol (ext. 129) if you feel called to share your talents in this important ministry.
If you are new to our church or just visiting, please stop and introduce yourself. We are pleased to have you share in this celebration of the Eucharist. If you do not have a church home, or your church is not a home to you, we invite you to become part of our parish family. If you are not Catholic, have questions about the Catholic way of life, or would like to explore the Catholic faith, please call the parish office at 847-437-6208.
Our Church is open to anyone looking for a spiri-tual home. We have a year round process for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (commonly known as RCIA). It is designed for those who have never been baptized, for those baptized in an-other Christian faith, or for those Catholics who were baptized but never had any formal teaching or training in their Catholic Faith.
