Fr. Lustig
“And He set His face like flint towards Jerusalem!”
Our Lord knew what he was going to face in Jerusalem, thus with great
resolve he turns to the south and begins His final journey to His glory.
Many desire to follow Him into His glory, but they come to learn that
“foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place
to lay His head.” Some desire to follow, but other things are more press-
ing, “first let me bury my father” and another, “I will follow you Lord,
but first let me say goodbye to my family.” Once you put your hand to
the plow do not look back, but set your eyes on the true goal.
To enter into our Lord’s glory demands a great commitment. That
means that we need to fight valiantly against the evils of the world. You
can not love both God and mammon. As good Christian families, where
can we fight against the evils of the world. There are many impurities
and there many false prophets who desire to distract us from Christ and
bring corruption into our lives. Do not be ignorant of the things that will
distract us from fixing our eyes on Jerusalem.
I particularly would like to point out the dark & sad things that can be
found via the internet, digital media, and the movie industry. We need to
know what we are dealing with. The average age that a child encounter
such dark things is at eight years old. Even popular social media ac-
counts, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snap Chat permit or are
not able to eliminate such impurities. Our eyes are the windows into our
souls, we must protect our eyes.
Check out this great resource for more information on how to fix our
eyes on Jerusalem and fight against evil.

Reminder: Dress up for Mass
Its Summer Time, and it’s that time of year to remember
to come to the Holy Mass in our Sunday best. Dressing in
an appropriate manner is a beautiful way to glorify God. —
Dear Jesus, give me a pure heart like that of Your holy
Mother! Through baptism I have the gift of the Spirit living
inside of me. Please increase in me the gift of the fear of the
Lord, so that I may never sadden You by the way I dress,
act, or speak.
WASHING PURIFICATORS
We currently have 2 people maintaining the purificators
used at Mass. We need more people to help, especially dur-
ing the summer months when people leave for vacations.
This is a simple, yet important responsibility and very much
appreciated by our Priests. Please contact the parish office
(208)733-3907 ext. 4 or Christy Carmichael (208) 731-7083
if you feel a desire to help with this ministry.

The Census asks questions that
provide a snapshot of the na-
tion. Census results affect your
voice in government, how much
funding your community re-
ceives, and how your community plans for the future.
When you fill out the Census, you help:
• Determine how many seats your state gets in Congress
• Guide how more than $675 billion in federal funding is
distributed to states and communities
• Create jobs, provide housing prepare for emergencies
and build schools, roads and hospitals.
Make sure YOU are counted!
ST. LUKE’S HOME HEALTH & HOSPICE
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test
Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit
eternal life?”
“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do
you read it?”
27
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your strength and with all your mind’
[a]
; and,
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” The Good Samari-
tan spent his time, attention and money on the man in
the gutter. The others saw the man, and passed by on
the other side.
Please don’t pass by on the other side. St Luke’s Hos-
pice needs compassionate, caring hospice volunteers
to visit and sit with hospice patients, relieving their
caregivers to go shopping, have lunch with a friend, or
just have some quiet time. Call Marie Sharp at 208-
814-7603 or email at [email protected] for more infor-
mation.

ción a nuestras vidas.
