St. Elizabeth Ann Parish is excited to again offer TOTUS TUUS (Totally Yours), a summer catechetical youth program. All SJS/PRE/Homeschool students from both SEA and St. James are encouraged to attend! The teaching team is made up of energetic Seminarians and college students who desire to witness their faith to our young people. What can you ex-pect? Highly energized presentations, silly skits, Sacraments, songs, time to play, and learning how JOYFUL it is to live our Catholic faith!! This year's focus will be on The Apostles Creed and the Luminous Mysteries. Information and registra-tion forms can be found in the kiosk. For more info, call Marilou at 402-253-6248.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY - A great way to volunteer and

help others....SEAS Prayer Shawl Ministry has openings for a few good folks! Prayer Shawls are lovingly created in prayer to comfort those in crisis. Compassion, caring and sharing are the only requirements. Instruction and donated yarns are available if need-ed.

Join us Thursday, June 28, 1-3pm, in the Family Room of the Parish Center, for joyous fellowship and prayer as we work to help others! If you or someone you know needs a prayer shawl, contact Joan Connor 402-493-3702 or Mary Ann Miller 402-468-

4014 for more information. We meet throughout the year, so

keep that in mind when your other activities taper off--we'd love

to meet you!

If you are interested in becoming an EMHC and/or a Lector, training will be provided this coming August. Dates, times and locations are listed below. If you are interested or would like more information, please, contact the parish office, 402.493.2186 or [email protected]. The deadline for submission of names is July 28th. You are the #Missing Type

The St. Elizabeth Ann Blood Drive is Monday,

June 25th from 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. 30 donors are still needed! Schedule your lifesaving appointment at St. Eliz-

abeth Ann by going online or contacting [email protected].

You might not realize how important certain letters are until they’re gone. A, B and O are the main blood types and when not enough people donate blood, A’s, B’s and O’s may be missing from hospital shelves when a critical patient arrives. We take for granted that blood will be available at a moment’s notice to help trauma and accident victims, cancer patients or those needing regular transfusions to treat sickle cell disease. Every two seconds, someone in the U. S. needs blood. Dur-ing the past four years, new donors have decreased by about 80,000 each year. Only about 3% of the U.S. population do-nates blood. We need your help to fill in the missing blood types so patients can receive the lifesaving care they need.

How did it make you feel?

Preferential Option for the Poor

Prayer for Charity

Thank you, Lord, for the many graces and blessings You have placed in my life. I offer You my heart-felt gratitude for Your countless gifts to me each day. In turn, dear Lord, help me to be aware of the needs of my least sisters and brothers, and to respond to those who are poor and less fortunate with generous expressions of charity, kindness and caring. On that day, O Lord, when I finally stand before You to give an account of my life, I pray I will hear You say, “Come, O good and faithful servant to share your Father’s joy; for when you saw Me hungry, thirsty, naked, homeless, ill and imprisoned, you offered your gifts in charity, and you lovingly did it for Me.” Amen. Donations and Women’s Morning of Reflection 2018

Special thanks to all the women of St. James and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes who worked on our committee and/or at-tended our annual Women’s Morning of Reflection on March 3 of this year. All our expenses have been paid, and we have made a donation of $750 to the Servants of Mary since our speaker, Sr. Joyce Rupp is from that Order. Your attendance helps us to be generous! May God bless each of you! (Jo Kusek, Faith Formation Director)

Faith Reflections

This Sunday, June 24, we celebrate the Nativity of St. John the Baptist. We only celebrate liturgically the births of two others – Mother Mary on September 8 and Jesus on December 25. Because of the importance of these three, we also remember their deaths – Our Lord Jesus Christ on Good Friday, the Martyrdom of John the Baptist on August 29 (now called the Passion of St. John the Baptist), and the Assumption of Mary into Heaven on August 15. The name, John means “gift of God”. At Mass today, we hear the story from Luke’s Gospel about how the neighbors expected that the baby would be named Zechariah after his father. Instead Zechariah writes, “John is his name”. “All who heard these things took them to heart, saying, ‘What, then, will this child be?’” (Luke 1:66)

Looking down at babies in their cribs, we wonder who they will be and what they will do. As Catholics, we know that every life is precious, and that every life is a “gift of God”. The most important thing we can do is help our children have faith and a relationship with the Lord. We also need to challenge them to find their own unique way of pointing the way to Christ . May we each find a way to say with our lives, “Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29) St. John the Baptist, pray for us!
