There’s no better way to deepen our Lenten practice than to review the Ten Commandments. The first three, having to do with our right relationship to God, get the most ink. The one we busy people probably have the most problem with is keeping holy the Sabbath. If we take this commandment literally, dishes will stay on the table, or perhaps meals will not be served. The sick will go unattended and nothing that has anything to do with physical la-bor will be done. Is mental labor really work? We need to depend on God to discern how to observe real Sabbath time in our lives. The point of this commandment is that God has given us a great gift: one whole day per week when we are free to rest, worship God, sing, feast, love, and rejoice. As Psalm 19 proclaims: “The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul." Our Sabbath rest is a great gift, to be received from God with joy, not with nitpicking. Peace, Fr. Frank

STATIONS OF THE CROSS Please join us on the Friday evenings of Lent for Stations of the Cross at 7:00 pm in the parish. Members of different parishes organizations will be leading us each week.
COMMUNION DRESS & SUITS NEEDED
The First Communion Day of our child is a very special occa-sion—a day to be celebrated and always remembered. Please help to make another child's First Communion Day one that will be cherished by donating any Communion dresses, suits jackets headpieces or shoes. AN EVENING OF DIVINE MERCY
An Evening of Divine Mercy will be held at Immaculate Concep-tion Church, 900 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah on Friday, March 9, 2018. Fr. Chris Alar, Director of the Association of Marian Helpers will present a spiritual take on Divine Mercy. What is the message and devotion of Divine Mercy and why is it im-portant for our times. The evening will begin at 6 PM with a meet and greet with Fr. Alar. At 6:45 PM we will begin recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and at 7 PM, Fr. Chris will begin his spiritual talk. SPECIAL NOON MASS AT ST. MARY’S
A special mass and a support group meeting for all who are af-fected by the disease of alcoholism will take place at Church of St. Mary, 20 Legion Place, Closter, NJ on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 12:00 noon. This is our yearly healing mass. Mass is offered for the support, healing and recovery of not only the man/woman directly affected with the abuse of alcohol and/or drugs, but also for anyone involved in the life of the alcoholic or drug addict. Youth Group: During the school year the Youth Group meets every Sunday night in the Kavin Center from 7:00-8:30pm. All high school teenagers are welcome to join us. Meetings are structured yet informal, and they usually consist of a discussion topic,
group dynamics, prayer, and socializing. Feel free to bring a friend along with you. Whether you’ve been involved in our pro-gram before or not, you are always welcome to attend our meet-ings. Refreshments are served.
