May God look with favor upon our community this Easter Season! Each time we come together to celebrate the Eucharist, one of the first things we do is to thank God for all the blessings He gives us. Yes, that sense of gratitude is important in our daily prayer. As community of faith we have to feed ourselves, constantly, by acts of gratitude. In connection with this, I would like to thank all our parish priests, deacons, liturgy ministers, choirs, cantors, ushers, sacristans, altar servers, people in charge of decorations and all other parish groups and organizations who, in one way or the other, have made our Lenten and Easter Celebrations a good spiritual journey. Maybe it is still difficult not to be drowned by the darkness that comes in various forms and ways. Maybe many of us are still involved in crisis management in our homes, workplace and neighborhood. Yet, Easter Season can be a source of hope and peace to us and others – even when there seems to be so much darkness present. For some, Easter Season may not always a guarantee to make their daily lives smooth and easy but it reminds them of the “way out” available to all. Easter brings us hope! Hope can add meaning into our lives whenever we have the “eyes to see it, the ears to hear it, and the heart to embrace it” – because we live in constant fear of losing comfort, security, one’s image in the eye of others and the thought that we have everything in control… thus, it leaves us a lonely, boring life. As a result, Easter for some isn’t effective at all. Therefore, we need to review our personal and parish life on a periodic basis. Keep us with “your own check list” that helps foster collaboration, cooperation and understanding. Once again, it would be good for us to remember that one of the greatest gifts with share to one another is hope. Happy Easter to All! Father Sal
¡Que Dios vea con ojos de bondad a nuestra comunidad en esta Época de Pascua! Cada vez que nos reunimos para celebrar la Eucaristía, una de las primeras cosas que hacemos es la de darle gracias a Dios, por todas las bendiciones recibidas. El dar gracias y ser agradecido es muy importante en nuestra oración diaria. Como una comunidad de fe debemos hacer actos de gratitud. Por esa razón, me gustaría dar las gracias a todos los sacerdotes, diáconos, ministros de liturgia, coros cantores, ujieres, sacristanes, monaguillos, a los encargados de las decoraciones y a todos los grupos y organizaciones, los cuales de una manera o de otra han colaborado para que las celebraciones de la Cuaresma y la Pascua fueran una gran experiencia espiritual para todos , aquí en nuestra parroquia. Quizás no nos es muy difícil el ser atraído por la obscuridad, que se presenta de varias formas ante nosotros. Quizás, muchos de nosotros, todavía no sabemos cómo manejar las crisis en nuestras casas, nuestro lugar de trabajo o nuestro barrio. Pero, con todo y eso, la Pascua puede ser la fuente que nos de esperanza y paz a todos, aun cuando el presente pareciera ser muy obscuro. Para algunos de nosotros, la Pascua no es siempre una garantía de que nuestra vida diaria será más fácil y llevadera, pero si podría recordarnos que siempre hay una manera de salir adelante. ¡La Pascua nos trae esperanza! Y la esperanza puede darle un nuevo sentido a nuestras vidas, si tenemos “los ojos para verlo, los oídos para escucharlo y el corazón para albergarlo”. Vivimos temerosos de perder nuestra seguridad, nuestra comodidad o nuestra imagen ante los demás y el solo pensamiento de que tenemos todo bajo control, nos deja con una vida de soledad y aburrimiento. Como resultado, la Pascua, para algunos, no es tan efectiva. Así es que, necesitamos revisar nuestra vida personal y parroquial, de vez en cuando. Manténganos en su lista de revisión para que nos ayude a promover la colaboración y el entendimiento. Una vez mas, seria bueno que recordáramos que uno de los más grandes regalos que podemos compartir con los demás es, el de la esperanza. ¡Felices Pascuas a todos! Padre sal

This is a Marriage Workshop offered by the Marriage Encounter group at St. Genevieve Church. This workshop has proven to help couples in their relationship with each other and with their children. We also have a day care available for your kids. Some of the topics discussed at our meetings are: communication between husband and wife, we offer solutions for conflicts and problems within the family and we talk about discipline and love for our children. We also have a group for the children of the couples who assist the workshops and want their adolescent children to participate. They must be 12 years or older to participate. The topics for them are: how to improve communication with their parents, self-esteem, addictions and their relationships with others.
