ST. ISIDORE the FARMER CATHOLIC CHURCH Growing Faith, Family and Friendship since 1961
Mission
We, the parish of St. Isidore the Farmer, are dedi-
cated to growing a life-long Catholic community.
Believing in the Risen Christ, we are empowered
by the Holy Spirit to celebrate the Eucharist, to be
nourished by the Word of God, and to serve the
needs of the local and worldwide community.
The Fifteenth Sunday
of Ordinary Time
July 14, 2018
Stewardship: Today’s readings are about being chosen and sent. The Prophet Amos was chosen by the Lord and sent to use his talents for the people of God. The Gospel recounts the story of the sending of the twelve. In the second reading, St. Paul re-minds us that we, too, are chosen. For what have I been chosen? To whom have I been sent?
Vocation View: Pray today for those who God calls and sends as ministers of Good News. (Amos 7:12-15)

St. Isidore Social Justice commission is considering expanding our Feed the Hun-gry Ministry by providing meals to both the Catholic Worker House and the Fami-ly Promise program when housed at St. Wensceslaus in Cedar Rapids. We need you to make that happen. Please let any member of our commission know you would be willing to participate and we will finalize our plans!
Council members represented on your So-cial Justice commission are John Roberts and Josh Sundstrum. Other members are Betty Hoffman, Jenn Horning, Elaine Ja-cobson, Joan Roberts and Connie Sjostrom. Contact info for each is availa-ble on our Social Justice page on the web-site. The Backpack program will resume in the fall and we will again supplement the sup-plies provided by HACAP. Watch for packing dates and join the fun! We are also looking to tour Waypoint in Cedar Rapids. Waypoint is one of our se-lected tithe recipients each year and they would love for us to see what they are all about. Contact Connie Sjostrom if you are interested. No date has been selected but it will be a 9-5 time frame. The next Social Justice meeting is Oct 1 at 6:00 p.m. TO ALL EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: St.
Luke’s Hospital is needing additional Eu-charistic Ministers to provide Holy Eucha-rist for its hospitalized Catholic pa-tients. If you are interested in providing this rewarding ministry, please contact Dick Lensing 319-573-9669 [email protected]. Detailed training is provided.
