RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Have you everbeen asked to be a godparent or sponsor (16 years oldand above)? Find yourself not meeting the fewrequirements? Think that being baptized and receivingFirst Holy Communion was enough? To be consideredeligible to be a godparent or sponsor, one must be at least16 years old, received the first three sacraments ofinitiation and if married, by a catholic priest, however, there are a few exceptions to this one requirement. Knowsomeone who has expressed a desire to be Catholic? Have you or a loved one, friend, co-worker missed asacrament? All these answers can be found at aninformational meeting on September 14th at 7:00PM inDuff Hall.

Marriage - being married by a judge, civil magistrate, ora minister is not accepted in the practice and teaching ofthe Catholic faith and stops one from receivingcommunion at Mass until the situation is resolved, included in this are those who are divorced and remarried. In most cases these problems can be corrected and arequite easy to accomplish. If you are in this situation orknow of someone who is, please call Father Anthony atthe Rectory to discuss this.

Family/Respect Life In order to help and care for thosewho need help from conception to natural death whichincludes our children, older adults, those who arementally/physically impaired, the abandoned, lost andhelpless, our parish will expand into a new St. JohnFischer Society. Through speakers on various life andhealth related topics, fundraising and events, this group ofdedicated and faithful will bring needed resources andhope to those who are in need in all stages of life and tohelp those who are in the last stages of this life.
