From Our Pastor My dear friends in Christ On Monday, we celebrated the life of Kent Lee Fellers who our Lord called home at the young age of 53. Kent was a school bus driver within the Loogootee schools for 16 years and a father figure for a number of those children. Kent also was employed by Perry Water and was superintendent of the Perry Water at the time of his death. Kent truly took up his cross in following our Lord as he had 6 surgeries in 7 years and battled cancer courageously. Kent was a faithful member of our parish who will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace. Amen. This past week we went over our CPC goal by $3,681.10! We reached our goal of $157,142.00 the amount needed to pay our bill to the diocese for the Catholic Parish Campaign. At this writing, we have received $160,823.10 either by cash or pledges. When I speak of reaching our goal this means that our parishioners follow through with the pledges they have made. Any money beyond this point comes back directly to our parish after all the pledges have been satisfied. If you are still fulfilling your pledge, all checks are to be made payable to the Catholic Parish Campaign. A special thank-you to all those who have responded to this important campaign. Mere words cannot express my deep appreciation for your support and generosity.

Religious Education News with Paula Ringwald FAITH FORMATION [email protected] St. John’s will be collecting family size kleenex boxes and glue sticks for the ACCTS school supply give-a-way for those less fortunate in our county. You can place these items in the baskets that can be found at the doors of the church.The parish library is in need of volunteers who would be willing to give a couple of hours a month to man the library and help parishioners check out books. First prize will be a beautiful quilt, second prize is $100.00 cash and third prize is $50.00 cash. This event is sponsored by the St. John the Evangelist Altar Society, with help from the many volunteers. St. Mary’s Hall is located on the corner of Second and High Street in Shoals. Youth News with Mark Potts s On Thursday, June 16th, we will be having a dinner (pizza) and a movie night at the Center. We will provide pizza and drinks and watch a movie,” God’s Not Dead”. If interested, please text or call me so that we know roughly how many people to serve for dinner! On Friday, June 17th, we will be having a server training day. Any student that is going into the 5th grade or above and would like to become a server, please be at the Church at 1:30 PM. The training should last about an hour! The Youth Group will be hosting an euchre tourney on June 30th at 6:00 PM at the Center. We will give out prizes for first, second, and third places along with most lones. Anyone may come and participate in the event. If possible, please come in pairs so that we end up with an even number of players! We will need some student volunteers to help serve drinks and food, along with handing out prizes at the end. If you would like to help, be at the Center around 5:45 PM. Activities for the Summer:
