Dr. Vincent Adamo, a member of our parish family, would like to help us live and remain healthy. So, he is offering every member of our parish an entire first exam for free. This exam includes x-rays, a nerve scan, and a consultation. Dr. Adamo is a very caring and friendly holistic doctor and puts his faith into ac-tion by helping anyone who is suffering or in pain. Al-so, he offers advice to anyone seeking a healthier life style. He is helping many people in our diocese to live a better life. RCIA 2015-2016 If you know of someone who has not received First Communion or Confirmation, or maybe even some neighbors who talk about our parish and have never been baptized, why don’t you come to the rectory office during office hours and fill out the information for us this week. We will contact them in September or October to see if they are interested in coming closer to Christ in the sacraments of the church.
25th Sunday in Ordinary Time "Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me." This statement from Jesus is actually very
similar to the famous passage from Matthew's Gospel where he says, "Whatever you did for one of these least
brothers of mine, you did for me" (25:40). But in Matthew, this idea of serving Jesus by serving others is applied
to more dramatic cases: the hungry and thirsty, the sick and imprisoned, the naked and the stranger. Isn't it inter-
esting to note that caring for children can also be a way of experiencing Christ's presence among us? For many
people, "receiving" a child is part of their daily routine. Those of us who are parents obviously welcome children
into our families and continue to serve them throughout their lives. Grandparents, siblings, other relatives, foster
parents, and sometimes neighbors and friends also make room in their homes and their hearts to welcome the
children God has placed in their circle. Teachers, physicians, therapists, and others who work with children on a
professional level are also in the "business" of receiving children. How wonderful to think that all of this normal
activity can offer us the opportunity to encounter Christ! Because dealing with children can become routine, or at
times even be filled with challenges and frustrations, we might need to pause to remind ourselves about the bless-
ings that they bring. Certainly their joy and innocence is a gift in itself, but in today's Gospel we are reminded that
their presence brings more than that. When we serve children in a spirit of generosity, when we "receive" them as
they are--with all that entails--we are in turn receiving Jesus ... who first came to us as a child.
Share The Gospel
Even though they were friends, sometimes the
disciples fought with each other. In today's
Gospel reading, they were fighting over who
was the most important. All twelve of them
wanted to be number one-the best disciple.
Then Jesus told them a secret. The best dis-
ciple is the one who helps other people. God
smiles when you help others. Take water to
the thirsty. Donate your old clothes to the
needy. Comfort those who are crying. Give one
of your toys to a child with no toys. Share
your favorite blanket with a child who is cold.
If you spend your life helping others, God will
take your hand and say, “Come, my child. Live
with me in heaven forever.”
Prayer
Lord, fill my heart with love to help others,
even when I would rather play a game. Amen

Mission For The Week
Ask your family members how you can help
each of them this week. When you help them
with a cheerful heart, God smiles.
Generations Of Faith Campaign The campaign priorities are to: - Strengthen the Heart of our Diocese by investing 50% of the total dollars raised, or $40,000,000, back into local parish communities for their own identified projects. - Fulfill our promise to those who have faithfully served by augmenting the current Saint John Vianney and Good Shepherd Funds, by directing $30,000,000 to care for Senior and Infirmed Priests. - Foster the Formation of the Future Generation of Catholics through the Catholic Foundation's Youth Evangelization Program, we will place a qualified and trained youth minister in approximately 140 parishes throughout the Diocese by 2020.
In the coming weeks, every family will be invited to participate in this campaign and prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift of a five (5) year pledge. A group of dedicated parishioners serving on behalf of Father Grande are contacting our families regarding our participation. When that time comes, please consider your support with an open heart and pray for our success as we move forward. The sacrifices of our parents and grandparents allowed us to become the parish family we are today we now are asked to sacrifice for the future of our parish for the next generation to come!
