HELP IS STILL NEEDED FOR HURRICANE HARVEY

RECOVERY Vacations That Give – a ministry of the Sisters of St. Anne is looking for volunteers to continue the recovery from Hurricane Harvey in the Houston/Galveston area. VTG has joined with the Houston/Galveston Archdiocese in rebuilding homes allowing families to either move back into (after 10 months) or make living conditions more livable. Thousands are still living in sub-par conditions. Presently we have 2 trips planned for the area, adults only (over 18) June 2nd to the 8th and one for adults and families, July 29th to August 4th. Approximately $400 per person, room and board, local transportation, recreational activities, project supplies and trip coordinator. You provide your own transportation to the Houston area. Email [email protected] now with your interest or to ask questions.

WELLESLEY FOOD

PANTRY

"Our world has a grave social debt towards the poor." (Pope Francis) Next weekend (5/5 – 5/6) is the first weekend of the May and we will be collecting canned fruit and laundry detergent for the Wellesley Food Pantry. Did you know that the Wellesley Food Pantry provides basic food and personal care products to Wellesley residents, serving more than 450 people, with a third aged 60+ and another third aged 18 and under. About two-thirds of the clientele come from public housing. The Wellesley Food Pantry is always very grateful for your donations and our monthly participation. Your donations may be left in the bins at the front entrance of the church. "My faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have to try to make a difference" (Jimmy Carter)
