MEN’S PRAYER GROUP MEETING- All the men of the parish are invited to the next meeting of our Men’s Prayer Group. It will be on Saturday, February 9 at 9:45 A.M. in the parish center. We will pray together and then one of our members will offer a brief presentation which we will then have a discussion around. Refreshments will be provided. You’re not committing yourself to the group by attending the meeting but please try us out and invite a friend. You just might like it! STUDENT MASS- The next Student Mass will be held on Sunday, February 10 at 6 p.m. Students and parishioners are invited to join in this Eucharistic celebration as we bear witness to the presence of Jesus and His love in our lives. There will be light refreshments and socializing following the mass in the Church Hall. Invite your friends!! And welcome back to all the students who are part of our parish community- we are so blessed to have you with us. CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP- Please come and join us at our next Charismatic Prayer Meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 7 pm in the church, and is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. Come and be open to the Spirit! All are welcome. CARDINAL’S ANNUAL APPEAL- Just a reminder that the 2019 Cardinal’s Annual Appeal has begun and that if you haven’t yet made your pledge to this appeal, please do so when you can. The money raised will go to the many good things that the Archdiocese of New York makes possible, including: helping needy parishes, the many programs targeted for specific groups in our communities; Catholic schools and religious education programs; support for retired priests and religious; and seminary training. Many thanks as always for your great generosity.

“WELCOME LITTLE ONES” -is a wonderful new program here at St. Joseph's that will help us to evangelize and to offer support to our families. After children receive the sacrament of Baptism, age-appropriate, faith-based material will be sent to the parents

every 6 months, up to age 3. We will follow up with these parents periodically to make sure they know we care very much about them and their children and that we are here to help them and their children grow in faith. The Catholic Grandparents Association will organize and coordinate sending out the packets at their monthly meetings.

JOSEPH CHURCH WeShare and Envelope CON-TRIBUTION TAX STATEMENTS- If you would like a tax statement for your 2018 church contributions, please call the parish office and leave your name and either a mailing address or and e-mail address. SUPPORT THE HAITI MISSION TEAM During the week of March 17 – 23, several members of St. Jo-

seph’s Church will be traveling to Haiti to assist with the construction of a school building that will also be used as a Catholic chapel and youth center. The team will be working in the Cité Soleil section of Port-Au-Prince where 70% of the residents are un-employed and 90% of children do not attend

school. It is their goal to share the love of Christ by helping to provide a place where children can be educated and where fami-lies can worship together. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so at: www.sjbcf.org/haiti-mission-team. Or you can send a check, made payable to St. John Bosco Children’s Fund. The check can be sent to Hank Grimsland at 5 Van Alst St., New Paltz, NY 12561 Please pray for the mission team as they prepare for this exciting opportunity to serve others. Thank you, Haiti Mission Team

private prayer, social events, and plenty of time to reflect on what God is calling you to. If you are interested in attending this gathering, please contact our Vocation Director, Fr. MEMORIALS- Altar Bread & Wine and Vigil Light for Feb-ruary and March have openings for memorialization. This is a blessed way to remember a loved one who has passed. The name of the deceased will appear in the bulletin for either 2 weeks or one month. Call the Parish Office for details. 255-5635 x100

BEQUESTS- We recently received very generous bequests from the estates of two of our deceased parishioners and we put those monies into our Endowment Fund, which is an account that we have at the Archdiocese of New York that guarantees 4% interest and which we retain complete control over. Several years ago, we created the Endowment Fund with the understand-ing that once it reaches the goal of $750,000 the interest on the account would be used to pay our parish utility bills. We’re about two-thirds of the way toward the goal and there will no longer be any special second collections for this account. How-ever, any contributions to this fund would be greatly appreciated, and please consider including St. Joseph Church when you are preparing your will. All that being said, we offer our great thanks to everyone in this parish family for whatever they contribute to our financial well-being- no gift, no matter how small or how large, is more im-portant than any other!

“Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it keeps no record of wrongs, it does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

CAPUCHIN VOCATIONS- The Capuchin Fran-ciscans are inspired by the life and ideals of St. Francis of Assisi- dedicated to serving those in need, living a simple lifestyle together as a commu-nity of brothers, and drawing closer to the Lord through common and private prayer. If you are interested in becoming a Capuchin brother or priest, please see one of the friars or go to www.capuchin.org/vocations. It doesn’t cost a thing and it just might change your life.

CAPUCHIN YOUTH AND FAMILY MINISTRIES (CYFM)- Capuchin Youth & Family Ministries (CYFM) is rebuilding to-day’s Catholic Church by reaching out to young people and their families through retreats, parish ministry, and service to the poor. FLU SEASON- As we are getting through the flu season, we try to remember ways to avoid spreading any infection with our brothers and sisters. For example, at the Sign of Peace it would be totally appropriate to bow or to nod your head to your neighbors in the pew instead of shaking their hands. Also, you may choose to not receive the Precious Blood from the chalice but instead to only receive the Host (the Body of Christ). Catholics believe that whether Holy Communion is received under the form of bread or under the form of wine, the whole Christ is being received. There will also be hand sanitizer dispensers in the back of the church and at the back entrance. Whatever you decide to do, take care of your-selves and keep healthy!
