KATHLEEN GALVIN'S 100TH BIRTHDAY CELE-BRATION Due to an error on Jim's part, it has been neces-sary to move the parish celebration of his mother Kathleen's 100th birthday to 15 March. LENTEN LUNCHES CHRISTIANS TOGETHER 2020 will take place every Wednesday throughout Lent at the Methodist Church, The Avenue at 12 Noon. All are wel-come. As a result there will be no coffee/tea in the hall fol-lowing Wednesday Masses. Please support this worthwhile cause! Our parish is to host the Lenten Lunch to support Christian Aid on Wednesday 25th March and to help with this we would greatly appreciate any donations of good quality saleable goods/unwanted gifts for our bric-a-brac stall (No clothing/shoes thank you). We also need cakes and other food for our cake stall on the day please. If you do have any such items could non-perishable food and other donations be left in the Parish Office at St. Joseph’s Church/St. Grego-ry’s. Volunteers for the challenge will be issued with a tube of smarties to enjoy and then to fill with 20p coins. A list will be at the back of the church to sign up for the challenge from the 29th February and the smarties tubes will be issued after mass on the 21st/22nd March and col-lected on the 11th/12th April. Or via [email protected] Money being raised for Parish Redecoration Fund CHOIR86 CONCERT AT ST JOSEPH’S: Choir86 will be per-forming their Easter 2020 programme “Rise Up Singing” at St Joseph’s church on Thursday April 2nd at 7.30pm. PARISH GIFT AID SCHEME For parishioners in the Parish Gift Aid scheme, packs of Gift Aid envelopes are now available at the back of our Churches for the tax year 2020 / 2021. If you are in the Gift Aid scheme and donate by standing order please also pick up a pack of Gift Aid enve-lopes so that you can Gift Aid your Easter & Christmas offerings or make any additional donations at any time. CORONAVIRUS As a Parish we have decided as a precau-tionary measure to take the following steps with regard to the spread of Coronavirus:- Withdrawal of the Chalice. Holy Communion to be given on the hand by sanitised Eucharistic minister. Suspension of the physical sign of peace. We would ask pa-rishioners to bow rather than shake hands. We will remove holy water in the stoups. Please do not engage in Public veneration of relics. Cease use of shared hymn books and missals (please take your bulletin home). Please sanitise your hands as you come into church and also if you attend tea/coffee following Mass. Ask anyone with cold or flu symptoms to refrain from attend-ing Mass No passing of collection plate (baskets will be available on exit) We will ensure very regular cleaning of surfaces that lots of people touch regularly
