CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL:HOW TO BOOK: Fill out the reservation form and send it to Classic Escapes, 58-25 Queens Blvd., Woodside, NY 11377, together with a deposit of $750 per person for the main tour and $250 for the extension. On receipt of your signed reservation form and deposit, we will, subject to availability, reserve your place on your safari. When we send off your confi rmation invoice, your booking is con-fi rmed and accepted by us. Final payment is due not later than 75 days prior to departure (August 20, 2013.) Final documents will be sent to you ap-proximately two weeks prior to departure.

RATES: All rates quoted are based on tariff s and value of foreign currencies in relation to the U.S. dollar in eff ect as of December 4, 2012 and are subject to change. Rates are based on a minimum of 10 passengers traveling together (plus Zoo escort). The right is reserved to levy a surcharge if minimum is not met, but that is rarely done. We will do our utmost to keep to the prices as published. Should increases be forced on us by airlines, exchange rates, etc., we reserve the right to surcharge.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations are only eff ective on receipt of written notifi cation. The following per person fees are applicable on this tour:• Up to 75 days prior to departure, deposit is

forfeited.• 74-60 days prior to departure, less 50% of tour

cost on the main trip and the extension.• Less than 60 days prior to departure, 100%

penalty, unless any refund is recoverable from overseas suppliers.

YOUR ITINERARYDAYS 1/2/3 – ST. LOUIS/EN ROUTE/NAIROBINAIROBI SAFARI PARK HOTEL. (Meals Aloft; B,L,D)Upon arrival in Nairobi, you’ll be escorted to your hotel. Visit local sites the following day. Your resort hotel showcases landscaped gardens, rich with exotic African plants and birds, as well as many amenities. Highlights:

• Visit the AFEW Nature Center to hand-feed rare Rothschild’s giraff e.

• Enjoy a visit to the Karen Blixen House, the former home of the notable author, now a museum, and have lunch at Karen Blixen’s Coff ee Lodge.

• Meet with American Mary Wykstra from Action for Cheetahs in Kenya (ACK) who will discuss their eff orts to save this magnifi cent animal in Kenya.

DAYS 4/5 – SAMBURU RESERVESAMBURU SARUNI. (B,L,D Daily)Begin your safari in the arid fringes of the northern region of Kenya. Saruni Samburu has been facilitated by the Northern Rangeland Trust to promote tourism and conservation in Northern Kenya. The Saint Louis Zoo supports the Northern Rangelands Trust, a community-led initiative that forms a true union of Kenya communities through fi eld conservation and education programsHighlights:

• The Saint Louis Zoo supports the Grevy’s Zebra Trust, an independent wildlife conservation organization. You will meet with a representative of the Grevy’s Zebra Trust for your own fi rst-hand experience of the Saint

Louis Zoo’s conservation work in Kenya. • Enjoy wildlife drives as you search the harsh

terrain for gerenuk, lion, Somali ostrich and other iconic African wildlife.

DAY 6 – TREE HOTELSERENA MOUNTAIN LODGE. (B,L,D)Standing at 2,195 meters (7,200 feet) on the slopes of snow-capped Mount Kenya, your tree hotel is ringed by a dense rain forest that comes alive at dusk. Your room overlooks an illuminated waterhole, where wildlife may congregate throughout the day. Highlights:

• See a wide variety of wildlife at your lodge, regarded by many as having the most consistently high record of animal visits and sightings in the area.

• Wildlife viewing throughout the evening and night includes elephant, buff alo, rhino, giant forest hog, waterbuck, leopard and lion.

YOUR NATURALIST GUIDE:Jeff Ettling, curator of herpetology and aquatics at the Saint Louis Zoo, is a native of the St. Louis metro region. He has had a lifelong fascination with

amphibians and reptiles, particularly snakes. Jeff holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Biology from Southern Illinois Univer-sity – Edwardsville. He is currently a PhD Candidate in the Biology Department at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Jeff ’s dissertation is based on his work in Armenia where he is investigating the spatial ecology and population biology of the Armenian Viper. Jeff has previ-ously led trips for the Saint Louis Zoo to Costa Rica, Namibia, Galapagos and Alaska.
