    Dear St. Luke Community,

We made it to the end! It has been quite a ride, but we made it. Congratulations to all of us, for making it

through this difficult year. We truly are Rebel Strong. I look forward to the time, when we can look back on this

moment in time and say, remember when… But for now, we still have work to do, so we will pull up our sleeves

    and get busy.

I have had people reach out with different ideas about what next year will look like. I would like to let you all

know our plan, so far. We plan to open on August 17, 2020. We plan to have students on campus 5 days a week,

if that option works for your family. We are also in the process of coming up with a plan to accommodate

families that would like to continue the distance learning. As we finalize our plans, I will keep you posted. We

will continue to send out information “Summer Edition” of the Light, to keep everyone current on what will

happen next year. We are hopeful that we can meet the needs of our families, and continue to work as partners

to ensure our children are receiving the best education.

The past few weeks have been a celebration of our children, and all of us as a community. I watched a long car

line of people for PTC Spirit Night, waiting patiently for an hour to drive through the campus to see the teachers

and get some goodies. It was wonderful to see everyone. We were so happy to see you. I also watched our 8th

graders graduate from their cars. They toured the campus and went down memory lane and ended up at circle

drive. We watched them drive away, confident that they are prepared for whatever life has planned for them.

We watched our Kindergarteners drive by for their promotion ceremony. I do not have words to describe the

look on their faces when they saw their teachers after such a long time away. We are family, and we will be

    okay.

I would like to also send out my most sincere gratitude for everyone who helped make these events a smashing

success. Julie Dannhardt, thank you for planning the 8th grade graduation drive- thru. It was amazing. Thank you

to the middle school team for your continued participation and support. Much love. Thank you to our Kinder

Team for the beautiful promotion ceremony. You guys rock. Thank you PTC, for the super fun Spirit Night. You

guys are my posse. Thank you to all the teachers and staff who have participated in all of our madness. We are

family. Thank you to Father Eric, for supporting our school and loving our children. We love you. And finally,

thank you Michael Coronado, for your amazing techy self. You allowed our community to experience memories

that will last a life time through your visual displays during our ceremonies. We are grateful for you.

Congratulations on surviving this year. It is time to celebrate what we have accomplished together and to look

forward to a future of endless possibilities.

    Counselor’s Corner…

Hi St. Lukers! My name is Jennifer Buehler and I am a St. Luke alumni parent. I recently did porch photos for the 8th grade families. It was such a pleasure and so much fun to work with all the lovely families! I’m excited to extend to the rest of the SL families! This is a great opportunity to create a memory during this time of uncertainty. I would love to photograph your families as they are- real and genuine. You can even include your pets or make signs to convey what you are feeling about these crazy times! You will receive 1 professionally edited jpg file sent to you via email. From that you can use it on social media and print your family portrait. ** I will be posting the images on the web, but if you do not wish to be published please let me know at your scheduled time. I will be following social distancing guidelines. I will not be touching you or knocking on doors. When I arrive at your residence, I will send you a text message upon my arrival. If you would like to have your family’s picture done, please contact me at 210-857-9248 or email me at [email protected] The charge is $35 to drive to your home and take a photo of your family. Extra may apply to those who live in the outer limits of SA. I’m so excited to see all your beautiful smiles and faces! Looking forward to seeing all of you!! Blessings, Jennifer Buehler
