ROCHESTER FELLOWSHIP KITCHEN HOLIDAY HELP
The Kitchen’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on November 17
th, and the Christmas Dinner will be held on
December 15th. Meals will be served from 5 pm to 6 pm.
St. Mary’s needs to send two volunteers to help with these meals (please no volunteers under the age of 12). They also need two pies for Thanksgiving and two plates of cook-ies for the Christmas meal. Volunteers should arrive be-tween 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

INTRODUCTION FROM THE NEW PASTOR As you read this, it should be about a week before we actually get to meet. There will be so many of you, and so little time to talk one-on-one, I wanted to introduce myself here as a head start. Starting from the beginning, I was raised in Swanzey, NH, and am the fifth of six children my parents raised. I am blessed that my parents are still alive and am sure you will get to meet them pretty soon. I attended Catholic elemen-tary school, public high school, and then RPI before feeling the call to the priesthood and heading to seminary in Bos-ton. I will write more about my ministry next week, but also wanted to share that you will see me about town walking two German Shepherds. The larger, older one is mine, and the smaller, younger one belongs to a priest friend of mine who is currently deployed. In addition to spending time with the dogs, I tend to relax by gardening, cooking, and read-ing. With regard to cooking, I wanted to mention that alt-hough I know that people often like to bake things for their priests, I am not able to eat things with gluten in them, and so will normally not accept food from others. However, if you are a member of the Italian club and make your own wine. . .feel free to drop off a bottle! Since this is just meant to be a short introduction, I will leave off here for now. Next week I will write about some of the ministry I have done in the past, and some of the spe-cial ministries I will be doing, along with being your pastor. Fr. Thom
LIGHTS OF LOVE STAR This year’s Lights of Love Star will be placed on top of Frisbie Memorial Hospital’s Education and Conference Cen-ter tree in member of Fr. Daniel Sinibaldi and a deceased parishioner, Leo “Mac” McCluskey. Lights of Love is a great way to honor or remember a loved one. They invite you to participate by giving a light to be placed on the Lights of Love tree, which will be located on the front lawn of the Education and Conference Center. With each $5 donation, one light will be placed on the Lights of Love tree. Your tribute gift to the Lights of Love program will not only shine a light for your loved one, but will provide valuable resources to the patients served by Frisbie Hospital. The Lights of Love cerement will be on Wednesday, December 7, starting at 4:30 pm. Program includes the Lights of Love carolers, refreshments and tree lighting.

This Sunday is the 33rd
Sunday in Ordinary
Time. Next Sunday we celebrate the Feast of
Christ the King, which also marks the end of
this liturgical season. The Gospel always re-
minds us of the “end of time.” This year we
find it in the Gospel of Luke. Many times over
the years, predictions are made that “this is
it.” The end will be in the year 2000, etc. The
fact of the matter is that the “end of time “ is
just that for someone everyday. We need not
panic even if we live in times of “nation will be
against nation. . .powerful earthquakes, fam-
ine, and plagues from place to place.” All of
these signs and predictions are to remind us
that each day is a blessing, and so we should
cherish each one as though it will be our last.
Let us strive to live each of them as though it
will be our last. Let us strive to live each day
with God’s blessings and give thanks for an-
other 24 hours filled with God’s love and mer-
cy.
