Parish Pilgrimage: 11- 13 September 2020

It is still our hope that we can continue with our planned parish visit to Lindisfarne and Durham in September. We have managed to extend the booking before any deposits are required until the end of July and by that time we should know if it is feasible and safe to proceed with the visit. If so, the full amount of £275 pp (+£25 single sup) will be required to be paid by week beginning 3 rd August. Clearly much will depend on government advice and the extent to which the coronavirus has been brought under control by the end of July. Here’s hoping … and praying!

Gospel, Matthew 11:25-30 – I am gentle and humble in heart

Jesus exclaimed, “I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to mere children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.”

The Gospel of the Lord

Reflection – Laying Down Your Burdens

Adults: When has Jesus refreshed you when you felt burdened by problems?

Children: What burden do you need Jesus to help you carry?
