The Eucharist Changes Us

We are called to become what we receive. As

we look forward to the full implementation of

the Third edition of the Roman Missal we are

struggling along with our SUNG parts of the

Mass now. Those attending daily Mass are

beginning to use the words from the Third

Edition of the Roman Missal. One of the main

goals for this new translation is a re-

catechizing of the beauty and dignity of the

Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Servant of

God, Pope John Paul II wrote in one of his

Wednesday Audiences during the great Jubilee

Year of 2000: “the Eucharist which we cele-

brate here on Earth is a sharing in the great

liturgy of heaven…it is not only food for us on

our pilgrim way, but also the promise of what

lies at our journey‟s end when we enter the

kingdom of God.” The Eucharist which you

and I partake is distinctly connected the one

sacrifice of Christ on Calvary which we be-

come witnesses of. It is our “thanksgiving

meal” which tells us that we are not alone that

Jesus is with us. In his own apostolic exhorta-

tion, Sacrametnum Caritatis: Through the sac-

rament of the Eucharist, Jesus draws the faith-

ful into his „hour‟; he shows us the bond that

he willed to establish between himself and us,

Trinity Transit Meeting Travel

Training Workshop Please consider this invitation to gain knowl-edge about Trinity Transit's Local and Intercity Bus Routes. The "Travel Training" workshop will be held in the Weaverville Library Meet-ing Room on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM. The focus of this training is to provide you with tools to use in educating and minimizing concerns of using public transit for seniors, students, low-income, Native Ameri-cans, and other target populations of Trinity County. Selena Barlow, who just completed a Transit Mobility and Awareness Plan for Trin-ity Transit, will be presenting this workshop. Selena is one of the best in her field and has done a fantastic job on this plan. If you have any questions please contact me by phone or email. I hope you can make it. Thank you, Polly Chapman Trinity County Department of Transportation (530) 623-1365

Improvements

Thank you to Ralph McCombs who painted

the yellow caution strip on the front footpath

going down Church Street. You will notice

some minor improvements being made to our

facilities in order to bring us up to compliance

with the previous Insurance Inspection. The

previous inspection was carried out in 2008

and from the recommendations nothing has

been done to correct these deficiencies. As

you can imagine these types of improvements

do cost money, but are required by the Dio-

cese. Thank you to all who are and have been

helping with these items. We are anticipating

another inspection within the month of Octo-

ber. Also, Thank You to John Knight for

painting the Entry Way Fence to Way of the

Cross

Diocese Begins Civil

Re-Organization Process The Diocese has begun a new process of civil

re-organization which will lead to St. Patrick

Parish being a Corporation Sole. We will

therefore be in charge of property and con-

tracts. All services from the Diocese will be

handled by contracts. More Information to

follow....

A BIG Thank-you goes to

Deanna Bradford for doing an

Excellent job

preparing the Bulletin while the

“Bulletin Lady”

was on vacation. It was very

much appreciated.
