Pentecost
One of our neighbors has the
most incredible workshop set
up in his garage. He can fix just
about anything with the large
assortment of tools hanging on
the wall or tucked away in dra-
wers. He takes special delight
in fixing a child’s bike, or doll,
or some toy that had an acci-
dent. We are convinced that he
has every known type of glue,
paint, brush, sandpaper, screw, and nail necessary to fix a toy and
mend a broken heart. He calls his workshop ‘Tools & Treasure.’
The Apostles are sent to preach the Gospel to the whole world.
They’ll need a few tools to fix things like sin, hatred, fear, illness, hunger, and despair. The Holy Spirit
will give them what they need: wisdom, courage, knowledge, patience and many other gifts. The things
they say and the miracles they work will be manifestations of God’s power and glory, signs of God’s lo-
ve and life. This workshop could be called ‘hope and grace.’
In Baptism and Confirmation, we are given these same gifts by the Holy Spirit. They are the “tools of
the trade” that enable us to live and preach the Gospel of Jesus. Through the Holy Spirit, we are
strengthened for the task of mending hearts, filling stomachs, healing souls, and dousing the fires of ha-
tred, injustice
and sin. When
we are uncer-
tain of which
tool we need,
just remember
the most im-
portant one of
all and use it
generously.
It’s the same
name as our
workshop. It’s

REFLEXION
Hoy recibimos al Espíritu, por ello, deberíamos te-
ner las puertas abiertas para dejarlo entrar
y después salir nosotros a compartir la alegría de
que no estamos solos. El miedo nos atenaza y no
nos deja expresar los sentimientos que tenemos. No
deja que nuestro corazón sea capaz de confiar y po-
nernos al servicio de la Palabra de Dios.
¡No dudemos!, Dios nunca nos abandona. Primero
envió a su Hijo y ahora para que sigamos en el ca-
mino nos envía su Espíritu para llenarnos de fuerza
y energía, con ella nos da el poder de perdonar los
pecados y vivir en la gracia de Dios cada día siem-
pre que vivamos como personas honradas y hones-
tas que cumplen la máxima cristiana de amar y
compartir.
Dejemos entrar al Espíritu en nuestra vida. ¡Ven
Espíritu Santo e ilumínanos! Con esta fiesta de
Pentecostés termina el tiempo Pascual. A partir de
hoy el Cirio, sólo será encendido en los bautizos y
entierros.

CHÚA NHẬT CHÚA THÁNH THẦN HIỆN XUỐNG
BÀI ĐỌC 1: Cv 2,1-11
Tường thuật việc Chúa Thánh Thần hiện xuống hôm lễ Ngũ Tuần. Vâng theo lời căn dặn của Chúa Giêsu phục sinh, các tông đồ tụ họp trong nhà Tiệc Ly để chờ đón nhận điều Ngài đã hứa. - Sáng ngày lễ Ngũ tuần, Chúa Giêsu thực hiện lời hứa ấy : Chúa Thánh Thần đã ngự xuống trên các tông đồ dưới hình lưỡi lửa. Lưỡi tượng trưng cho lời nói. Lửa tượng trưng tình yêu và lòng nhiệt thành. Nhờ Chúa Thánh Thần, các tông đồ đã nhiệt thành rao giảng Tin Mừng, làm chứng cho Chúa Giêsu.

BÀI ĐỌC 2: 1 Cr 12,3b-7.12-13 Thánh Phaolô kêu gọi tín hữu đoàn kết hiệp nhất nhau trong Chúa Thánh Thần: Trong Giáo Hội sơ khai, Chúa Thánh Thần ban nhiều đặc sủng khác nhau cho các tín hữu. Nhưng mọi đặc sủng đều nhằm phục vụ lợi ích chung của cộng đoàn. - Vì thế, một mặt các tín hữu phải tránh chia rẽ nhau, mặt khác phải tận dụng mọi ơn ban của Chúa Thánh Thần để xây dựng thân thể Giáo Hội. TUNG HÔ TIN MỪNG: Alleluia, alleluia! – Lạy Chúa
Thánh Thần, xin xuống tràn ngập tâm hồn các tín hữu Chúa,
và xin nhóm lửa tình yêu Chúa trong lòng họ. – Alleluia.

Buổi chiều chính hôm lễ phục sinh, Chúa Giêsu đã ban Thánh Thần cho các môn đệ (Theo quan điểm của Luca thì Thánh Thần được ban hôm lễ Ngũ tuần). Chúa Thánh Thần được ban đồng thời với lời chúc bình an, quyền tha tội và lời sai các ông ra đi. Từ đó, ta có thể thấy được những ý nghĩa sau: Ơn ban cao trọng nhất của Chúa Thánh Thần là Bình an, đặc trưng của thời Messia. - Ơn cao trọng thứ hai của Chúa Thánh Thần là Tha tội : chính nhờ được tha tội mà con người được bình an thật. - Ơn ban Thánh Thần nhằm giúp Giáo Hội ra đi loan Tin Mừng cứu độ.
Suy Niệm: Thời khởi nguyên vũ trụ, khi dựng nên loài người, Thiên Chúa đã thổi sinh khí ban cho con người sự sống. Hôm nay, Ðức Giêsu Phục Sinh cũng thổi Thần Khí vào các môn đệ. Các ông được lãnh nhận Thánh Thần. Lãnh nhận sự sống của Ðức Giêsu. Trong Chúa Thánh Thần, các môn đệ sẽ tiếp tục sứ mạng của Ðức Giêsu: Thông ban sự sống và ơn tha tội. Trong Chúa Thánh Thần, Hội Thánh của Ðức Giêsu được hình thành từ hạt nhân là các môn đệ. Mỗi tín hữu chúng ta được Chúa Thánh Thần qui tụ, thôi thúc và ban ơn để làm chứng cho Ðức Giêsu ngay trong cuộc sống của mình. Chúa Thánh Thần mời gọi chúng ta phá vỡ mọi ngăn cách, kỳ thị để mọi người thực sự liên đới, cảm thông và hiệp nhất với nhau. Ðể mọi người được sống trong hạnh phục.
Cầu Nguyện: Lạy Chúa Giêsu, trước khi về trời, Chúa đã ban Chúa Thánh Thần cho các môn đệ để các ông được thêm sức mạnh và sự hăng say làm chứng cho Chúa. Mỗi người chúng con đã được lãnh nhận Thánh Thần qua bí tích Rửa Tội và Thêm Sức. Chúng con cũng có sứ mạng đem Chúa đến cho người khác. Nhưng trong cuộc sống, có
nhiều lúc chúng con vẫn còn nhát đảm, sợ hãi không dám tuyên xưng Chúa, không dám sống theo sự thật. Xin Chúa ban Chúa Thánh Thần để Ngài củng cố niềm tin và đổi mới chúng con, để chúng con can đảm sống đời chứng nhân. Amen. Lễ Hiện xuống mới Lần đầu tiên thành viên của 56 phong trào đoàn sủng và cộng đoàn mới của Giáo Hội tập họp lại theo lời mời của vị Đại Diện Chúa Kitô. Đức Gioan Phaolô II muốn cuộc tập họp khổng lồ này chứng tỏ để mọi người thấy Chúa Thánh Thần vẫn tiếp tục hiện xuống và đang canh tân bộ mặt trái đất. Hôm ấy là thứ bảy 30 tháng 5, 1998, ngày áp lễ Hiện Xuống, có tới nửa triệu người đến từ khắp nơi trên thế giới. Riêng Âu Châu chừng 2,000 xe buýt chở khách tới Roma. Hàng triệu người coi truyền hình theo dõi biến cố này, qua 20 hệ thống truyền thông. Chưa bao giờ công trường Đền Thờ thánh Phêrô lại chật ních người tới mức đó, kể từ Năm Thánh 1950 đến nay. Nhưng có phải chính Chúa Thánh Thần đã khơi dậy những phong trào đoàn sủng và những cộng đoàn mới này của Giáo Hội ? Ta hãy thử coi một số trường hợp.
