Visit our web site www.kofctucson.org Dear Brother Knights, I pray everyone is staying safe and healthy. ese are very humbling times, thinking about how many activities we had going on last year at this time. I am taking classes at Pima Community College and the few times I have had to go on campus for classes it is like a ghost town. Almost everything is taught virtually. I can’t imagine what it is like for parents that have children going to school now. My heart and prayers go out to you. We still have a lot to be grateful for. We should express our gratitude to God every day. is month we have two extra opportunities to show our gratitude, Veterans’ Day (Nov 11th) and anksgiving Day. Both will be different due to Covid-19 restrictions, but both will still be special in our hearts. On November 11th we celebrate our veterans. We owe our freedom to all those who have served our country. Our country is not perfect, but it is still the finest country on this planet. We are fortunate to live here, may God continue to Bless America. Also on the 11th there will be a National Salute to the Unknown Soldiers buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Buglers across the country will be sounding Taps at 11:00 AM (local time). anksgiving is more family oriented and it provides an opportunity for us to reflect on all of our blessings. It is expected that the family events will be scaled down to minimize the spread of the Covid-19, but we can still be close to those in our hearts with our memories and by virtue of the technologies we have available today. Still, nothing is more therapeutic than a warm hug. As always, if anyone knows of a Brother in need, please contact Dan Pinda (520-298-6706/ [email protected]). Vivat Jesus! Dear Brother Knights,

I pray everyone is staying safe and healthy. These are very humbling times, thinking about how many activities we had going on last year at this time.

This month we have two extra opportunities to show our gratitude, Veterans’ Day (Nov 11th) and Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving is more family oriented and it provides an opportunity for us to reflect on all of our blessings. It is expected that the family events will be scaled down to minimize

the spread of the Covid-19, but we can still be close to those in our hearts with our memories and by virtue of the technologies we have available today. Still, nothing is more therapeutic than a warm hug.

As always, if anyone knows of a Brother in need, please contact Dan Pinda (520-298-6706/[email protected]).

Vivat Jesus!

A Prayer for Healing...Dear God,

we place our worries in Your hands. We place our sick in Your care

and humbly ask that You restore Your servants to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and

know that whatever You do, You do for the love of us. Amen.

Corona Virus ScamsI was wondering if there had been an increase in scams infecting our everyday life with Corona Virus now in the picture. From what I am reading about it, as I expected, the answer is “Yes.”

As you can imagine, most of the scams revolve around a vaccine or a government check. Phishing scams can generate from email, texts, social media, and Robo-calls. They will attempt to get money for virus tests or/and steal your personal information. Other calls contact you about stimulus payment (economic impact payment) or about potential unemployment benefits.

Businesses have been contacted as well with the caller offering to help secure federal loans or help improve their business by improving search capabilities on the Internet to put their business nearer the top of a search.

Many new sites have popped up on the Internet promising vaccines or other virus-related promises. If you go to any of these sites you could begin to get phishing emails that include a link to something that you might be interested in an attempt to infect your computer with malware intended to capture your personal information.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has created a website specifically for information about Covid-19 scams. You can visit this site at https://www.fcc.gov/covid-scams.

• Protect yourself by avoiding offers for vaccines or cures.

• Avoid the urge to click on any links from emails promising free tests (or any email that is the least suspicious, that includes email purportedly from friends or family). Go to https://www.fda.gov for information about testing.

• Never share personal information to anyone that calls you, sends you email or any other communication you did not initiate. And if you initiate the contact, be sure that the number you call is the actual number of the company or service.

• A good practice is to ignore calls from anyone’s number you do not recognize. If it is important the caller will leave a message. Review the message and if warranted, give them a call back.

A final note. There is always someone out there that wants to take advantage of those of us with a soft heart or are susceptible to fear and will react without to much thought. Be wary of everything today that requires you to give up any personal information or cash out of your pocket. And finally, be sure you have an updated Anti-Virus program on your computer.
