BirthdaysSometimes it is easy to overlook the simplest of things.

Take, for example, the beneficiaries on your life insurance policies. If your policy was applied for and issued several years ago, it may very well be that the person you originally selected as the beneficiary is no longer the person you would want to receive the policy proceeds. If you bought the policy when you were single, for example, you may have named your parents as beneficiaries. If you have since married, your policies should be updated to reflect your spouse as beneficiary. Maybe you’ve had children since, who are not named on the policies.

Most people list a primary beneficiary, who is specif-ically designated as the first in priority to receive policy proceeds. We also encourage the naming of a contingent beneficiary, an alternate person designated to receive policy proceeds, usually in the event that the original beneficiary pre-deceases the insured.

I routinely call all of my policyholders for annual review appointments, usually near the anniver-sary date of your policy – that is, the date it was originally issued. One of the matters that I’ll discuss during this review is the status of your beneficiary designations. If they need updating, and they often do, I can complete the paperwork during that appointment.

I look forward to meeting with each of you to discuss your family’s needs.

Breakfast with SantaThe children’s excitement and their smiling faces lit up the room when Santa finally arrived. After a scrumptious breakfast and fun in the craft room the children were lining up to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas. The elf and Mrs. Claus handed out stockings filled with goodies and assisted Santa throughout Santa’s visit. Dan Pinda and Bob Messenger took pictures and can be viewed on the website at https://kofctucson.shutterfly.com/.

Comments from those that attended consisted of praise for the organization, decorations and great breakfast that was provided. To all that helped make this event a resounding success you have made a lot of children and their parents happy this Christmas season. God bless.

Exceptional Effort by the Ladies Auxiliary!

The 2016 KCIC Program was a huge success in comparison to previous years.

Every Sunday in November and the first two Sunday’s in December you would have found, at a minimum, Nora Mrazik, Kim Pinda and Vicky Steenbakker selling Christmas Cards and pins on the front patio of the Church at all morning masses.

The total income was $534.50 with expenses of $134.50 leaving a net profit of $400.00.

The council passed a motion to give the proceeds to the Ladies Auxiliary if they do the set up and sales for the program.

The council is pleased to recognize the ladies efforts to “Keep Christ in Christmas” all the while raising funds for worthy causes. Well done ladies!

Save the Date: Priest Appreciation DinnerThe annual Priest Appreciation Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday Feb 28 (Fat Tuesday). This annual event is sponsored by the Chief Judge John Roll Chapter. It raises funds for the Diocese of Tucson vocations as it honors the Priests of our Diocese. Last year’s proceeds will be donated this year while this year’s proceeds will be donated next year. Priests are invited at no cost. Brother Knights are asked to consider paying for a Priest’s dinner in addition to their own. More details will be forthcoming in the next newsletter.

2016 Christmas Social

This years Christmas Social was a fun time for all that participated. The gift exchange, food, conversation and chance to be with Brother Knights and their families brought smiles to everyone.

WHAT A GREAT WAY TO CELEBRATE DURING THIS BLESSED SEASON!MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Many of the Ladies Auxiliary spent several days baking numerous delicious desserts to enhance Christmas for their annual bake sale. Over half of their membership actively helped set up for the event. This bake sale was one of their most successful bake sales ever, garnering $685.25 in profits which will go to help fund their charitable activities. Council 10762 Knights applaud their efforts under the leadership of their President, Nora Mrazik, Vice President, Marilyn Staraze, Secretary, Kim Pinda and Treasurer, Vicky Steenbakker. It was a job well done by all the Ladies.
