Brothers,
Thank you for electing me to the office of Grand Knight from the many choices available. I look forward to working with the fine group of officers you elected and you, the brothers of our council, to continue the good work that’s been done over the last several years to grow our council and hold meaningful events and fund raisers that expand our charitable and fraternal goals. Dutch and his GK predecessors have given us a direction and we need to continue those works.
Membership is going to be a focus this frater-nal year. Dick Goddard has accepted the post as Membership Director to continue to bring new blood into the council. Our second major member-ship effort will be to involve new and current knights in our programs and activities.
In my past life I worked for a company that believed in a participative management style which I think will work well in our council. This means we will constantly be seeking input from our fellow knights for ideas and suggestions and ACTIVE involvement in our events and programs.
We are currently holding meetings to develop and finalize our programs and calendar for this fraternal year and as usual we need volunteers to chair events and participate in event planning and then work that event. Tom Eagan has already volunteered to be the Youth Director and to chair the St. Patrick Day’s dinner–dance. Hopefully more
knights will take the same initiative.
Please send me any inputs you may have for our council via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at 867-6197. Anthony Pennisi our DGK and Program Director will also be happy to hear from you via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at 861-0741. Looking forward to a great year.
Vivat Jesus

Past Grand Knight Dinner
Past Grand Knights in our council enjoyed a hearty meal, conversation and camaraderie at Bistro 44 June 24th. It is always a great opportunity to thank those that step up to lead us in our journey with the Knights in doing those good works for others and helping us all remember our Catholic teachings towards our walk with God.
Our council thanks each and everyone of you for your willingness and giving unselfishly of your time to lead our council.

Ask Eligible Men to Join
Today, I want to address the growth of the Order. Membership growth is the fuel that keeps this great fraternal engine running. All of our charitable works at the council, state, national and international level are thanks to our hard-working members. And more members equals more charity.
We know that the membership blitz is a tried and true way for councils to get more men to join. We see these pushes often in March, in celebration of Founder’s Day, and again in October. These drives are successful because brother Knights have increased visibility speaking or presenting during and after Masses and at special events. We must remember that we have a duty to ask each and every Catholic gentleman to join our ranks for the good of the Church, the community and the Order.
During the rest of the year, we often “forget” to ask men to join and to bring their families into the Knights of Columbus family. You probably know an eligible Catholic man you could ask today. What if the only reason he hasn’t joined is because no one has asked him yet?
When telling a prospect about the strengths of the Order, don’t forget our greatest fraternal benefit: our insurance program. This is often a “selling point” to a potential member who is on the fence. Many members become Knights simply to be able to buy coverage to protect their family. Soon after, they realize the good our charitable works do for their community, and they are proud to be members.
As your professional Knights of Columbus insurance agent, I look forward to helping us grow in fraternity in any way that I can.

Dear God, we place our worries in Your hands.
We place our sick in Your care and humbly ask that You restore Your servants to health
again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy
will and know that whatever You do, You do for the love of us. Amen.
